"She is waiting for her father for weeks now. What will happen when she finds her mother but not her father?" Long Jie questioned Feng Siyan. He kept thinking about this disturbing question. What was more troubling him was Faye's bizarre and incurable disease. He hadn't heard that a person's body could heat up due to the flare in intense emotions. They hadn't yet told Faye anything about her father and what would they tell her when they had no answers?
"We can't predict it now," Feng Siyan said with a defeated sigh. He took a seat beside Long Jie and poured a drink for himself. He didn't know why but after talking to Alcina he always needed a drink. After gulping down the content of the glass in one go, he looked up to find Long Jie staring at him. "You haven't talked to her yet. That's why you don't know how it feels to talk to her. Just imagine talking to a combination of your wife and Esma. Both can be a handful."
Long Jie patted Feng Siyan's shoulder and said," I can understand you, my friend."
Feng Siyan saw Long Jie imrsed in his own thoughts. He could see that Long Jie was drunk now. When was the last ti he saw Long Jie drunk? Never. The man had great self-control whether it ca to Alcohol or won.
"Aren't you going ho?" Feng Siyan asked him.
Long Jie snickered, "Ho? My wife left and now you're asking to leave too?"
"What a lancholic drunkard," Feng Siyan muttered under his breath.
"Never marry, Ah Siyan. Being a husband is a thousand tis more difficult than being an asshole," Long Jie advised Feng Siyan.
" Thank you, Brother, for your kind advice, "Feng Siyan replied as he nodded. "You can be rest assured that I will definitely act according to your advice. If one day my mind gets screwed and I decide to get married, I'll just look at your depressed married face--"
"Fuck off!" Long Jie growled and Feng Siyan laughed.
Seeing Feng Siyan laughing, Long Jie smiled too. "One day you're going to et a woman who is going to lt this ever frozen ice around you and crawl into your frigid heart."
Feng Siyan scowled at him. "Didn't you just advise never to marry?"
Drunk Long Jie smiled, "It's not that marrying is a bad thing. It's just that we don't know how to be good husbands. Whenever I think that I'm doing sothing good for my wife, it always ends up hurting her. My intentions weren't wrong this ti but my actions surely were. I wonder if she will forgive this ti."
"There is always divorce," Feng Siyan proposed.
"Only if I know how to live without her, " Long Jie said and Feng Siyan shook his head in resignation. Long Jie laid his body on the sofa while staring at the ceiling blankly, said, " My wife is my life but I don't know how to deal with both of them. (Wife and Life) "
'Why is loving you so difficult, Zhenyi? I haven't loved anyone as much as I love you. Heck, I haven't loved anyone in my life but you. But why can't I make you happy? Why am I always the reason for your tears? Sothing tells that you're better off . You deserve better and becoming better for you is just not enough. I can neither let you go nor I can hold on to you. I'm so lost and so miserable without you.'
"Queen ntioned Amaris again," Feng Siyan said after a long silence. He didn't know who Long Jie would take the news, given he was already drunk and most of all miserable right now.
"What about him?" Long Jie asked him patiently.
"Oh, nothing special, " Feng Siyan imdiately replied. He gave out an innocent smile that Long Jie had an urge to break his jaw."But he is just a little anxious since there are rumors circulating that your wife is getting engaged. And being her greatest lover as he claid, how could he rest in peace?"
Long Jie jerked up as his face hardened. "Let kill him, Feng Siyan. Because every ti I imagine his cocky mouth near my wife, I want to smash it."
Of course, Long Jie knew about Prince Amaris's obsession with Zhenyi. If not then why else would he be obsessed with Zhenyi's security? He had been a part of White Knights for a decade now. And his post was just now second to Feng Siyan. One could imagine his authority. Who hadn't known that Prince Amaris was obsessed with an Asian girl? But no one knew who she was exactly.
When he was told that he would be marrying Xin Zhenyi, he investigated her but found nothing. It was just recently he got to know about Amaris's obsession with his wife. And since then that damned Prince was on his hit list.
The only problem was that he couldn't kill him without starting an international war.
"We can't afford to kill him now. He is royalty. If you kill him now, you will invite more trouble than he is worth," Feng Siyan tried to reason with him. He paused and then said as he recalled sothing. "Moreover, you need to stop your wife from causing trouble."
Long Jie smiled as he guessed what Feng Siyan was talking about. "My wife is naturally curious. Once a mystery pops its head, she makes it her mission to solve it. She is always hungry for information. Since she wants to investigate Long Ah Shaan then I'll let her. I've been secretly investigating him for years with the help of the organization. But other than the fact that he had a hidden wife and perhaps a child too. We didn't know anything."
"One more cousin ans one more competitor for your position. Think carefully," Feng Siyan reminded him.
"If my cousin really wanted to co out, he/she would have co out years ago."
"How are you so sure about it?"
Long Jie sighed out, "My father-in-law confird it. His wife really ca across my cousin but since the matter was sensitive, she didn't give him much information apart from the fact that she had t my cousin. And where he/she is now, even Bà doesn't know. Apparently, my mother-in-law was thoroughly loyal to Long Ah Shaan. She didn't give any information to her husband either."
"Then, I hope you get a simple-minded cousin," Feng Siyan said, raising his glass.
'If Tang Reine really raised her then I highly doubt it…" Long Jie said in his heart.
