The Next Morning.
'Why having family breakfast was never so hard before?'
Zhenyi was now sitting beside Grandma Mian on the dining table. The seat next to her, which was also the seat of the head of the family, was empty. It belonged to Long Jie. Since he was not there to occupy, it was kept empty.
Zhao ilin was telling her sothing about a childcare center that she wanted to include in her big philanthropic list. By the looks on her face, Zhenyi could conclude she was excited.
Good for her.
"Would you like to co with ? The kids need us. Once you see them, trust , you will want to bring them with you. They…"
'Since you like children so much why don't you ask Wei to fill your tummy with one more after you deliver this one?' Zhenyi thought it in her mind with a gentle smile on her face.
"You know I love kids…"
Zhao ilin kept talking and Zhenyi maintained a look on her face which was saying that she was very much interested in her story when she was clearly not!
She cringed at the thoughts of bringing children ho. She didn't like kids at all.
But she wouldn't mind if the kids were her and Long Jie's. Those kids would be beautiful and intelligent like their parents, right?
Perhaps Ryuu's kids too. She wouldn't have to bring herself to love Ryuu's kids as they would be like her own, weren't they?
Only if he would have one in the future. Just because he agreed to marry that pretty flower didn't an he would have children with her.
That's Ryuu for Pete's sake.
Anyway, it had only been almost fifteen minutes since she sat at the dining table. Zhao ilin had eaten her precious ears. However, it was okay as long as she was on team Zhenyi instead of that vicious witch's team.
Honestly, Zhao ilin was trying to lighten Zhenyi's mood. Yesterday, Song Lily had slapped Zhenyi in front of everyone. So, they were afraid that Zhenyi would retaliate in a terrible way. It was not her who was saying this, it was her husband and Yuan who gave her a little hint of how Zhenyi once shot Yuan when he did sothing to trigger Zhenyi's anger.
'She shot Yuan for angering her. What would she do to Aunt Lily who openly slapped her?' Zhao ilin shivered at the thought.
Everyone who was deep in their thoughts looked up when they heard soone approaching them. Long Shaoming joined them for breakfast, behind him Song Lily was coming timidly.
'Oh? The vicious witch could play a timid wife's role?' Zhenyi said in her mind. 'Although I prefer foreplay over roleplay always… but since my Jie is not here… Song Lily, let's see how can pull off the role of ideal daughter-in-law better?'
As Long Shaoming was about to sit on the table, his gaze fell on Zhenyi. His eyes flickered with surprise and satisfaction. To be honest, he wasn't expecting her here at all.
At the sa ti, Zhenyi stood up to greet Long Shaoming. She greeted him with a slight bow.
Her father-in-law was satisfied with her attitude.
"How co I was not inford that my daughter-in-law is here to visit us?" questioned Long Shaoming, looking at everyone present there.
Although the question was asked in general, yet in actuality, it was directed to his wife. A few months ago he had told his wife to bring his son and daughter-in-law back ho by hook or by crook. And like always, Song Lily failed.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you, father-in-law, but I am not here to visit you," said Zhenyi softly. Actually, Zhenyi was too tired to speak like her normal self. She hadn't had a wink of sleep last night. So, she was not playing the role of her gentle daughter-in-law yet. She had to save up the ace for later.
Long Shaoming's shoulder slumped in disappointnt. It was not hidden from Song Lily who was seething inside.
Just why did her husband give too much importance to this lowly girl?
Long Shaoming nodded. It seed that he had accepted whatever her decision was as he still was guilty of the fact that he failed to protect Zhenyi from that accident a few months ago. Especially when he had promised Xin Yichen that he would take care of his daughter. He was about to sit on his chair when Zhenyi spoke again.
"I'm here to take care of my responsibilities, father-in-law. I have been away from my duties as the madam of this house for too long. It's ti I return to where I belong," said Zhenyi to Long Shaoming. " Jie and I just wanted so ti for us initially. And we got it. Thank you for understanding. Now that he had gone to fulfill his duties, I realized that I have been delaying mine for a long ti. I would have co back sooner, if not for the accident that made bedridden for several months."
Zhao ilin gave her a tight smile. Clearly aning-- I sympathize with you.
Long Shaoming blinked in surprise. It looked like Zhenyi and Long Jie had planned to co back to Long Mansion originally. He was beating himself over and over because he thought that his son had abandoned the place which was his true ho for the hatred that had taken place inside his heart for his ho. It seed like he was worrying in vain. His daughter-in-law was not a bad woman. Just a little aggressive. As long as she kept her temper in control everything would be alright.
But only if people from the Long family wouldn't push her too much.
