"Shen Qinglan, Shen Qinglan, it’s always you. Why do you always like to take my things? Grandpa, Grandma, Brother, Daddy, and now even Fu Hengyi. What right do you have?!"

Shen Xitong sat in her car, leaning on the steering wheel, tears streaming down her face, with deep-seated hatred in her eyes.

"Shen Qinglan, you’re just flaunting yourself because of that bit of blood relation with the Shen Family. Without it, what makes you better than ? Just wait—I won’t let you off. If I can’t have a good ti, neither will you."

**

Fu Hengyi didn’t stay long at the Shen Family; Chu Yunrong wasn’t back yet when he left.

When he returned, Shen Qinglan had just woken up and co downstairs. She couldn’t sleep at first, but once she lay down, sleep unexpectedly found her, and she slept all the way to lunchti.

During the al, Old Sir Fu kept piling food into Shen Qinglan’s bowl, saying she was too skinny and needed to be nourished.

Very quickly, her bowl was piled up like a small mound. She looked at the full bowl with so distress; she truly couldn’t eat that much.

"Eat as much as you can, and leave the rest to ," Fu Hengyi whispered in her ear.

Old Sir Fu was an old revolutionary, the kind who had been on the battlefield and killed enemies, at tis surviving only on grass roots and bark. So he never allowed his family to waste food; one should take only as much as one could eat. This rule applied not only to the Fu Family but also to the Shen Family.

Shen Qinglan was well aware of this rule, which was why she felt troubled.

Fu Hengyi saw that Shen Qinglan had eaten half, then stopped moving her chopsticks. Realizing she couldn’t eat anymore, he took her bowl and quickly finished her leftovers without any hesitation.

Old Sir Fu pretended not to see anything. After all, it was his own granddaughter-in-law, and it was his choice to eat her leftovers. As an elder, he didn’t ddle in young people’s affairs.

"Grandpa, we’ll be leaving now," Fu Hengyi said after finishing the al, intending to leave with Shen Qinglan.

Old Sir Fu widened his eyes, "Leaving right after eating? Do you think this is so kind of restaurant where you co and go as you please?" Wouldn’t it hurt to keep him company a bit longer?

Shen Qinglan’s beautiful eyes showed a hint of embarrassnt, while Fu Hengyi remained calm, "Didn’t you say yourself that I should spend more ti with my wife if I had the ti? Now I’m following your advice, planning to take her out. Are you unhappy with this?"

Old Sir Fu puffed his beard, "When did I ever say I wasn’t willing? You cheeky brat, don’t put words in my mouth. Spending more ti with your wife is right. Didn’t you say you were going out? Why are you still standing here? Go on, off you go."

Old Sir Fu waved them away.

Fu Hengyi led Shen Qinglan out of the Fu Family with composure.

"Is it really okay for us to leave like this?" Shen Qinglan was a bit worried. Deep down, she always knew that although Old Sir Fu appeared to be just a frisky old man, he was actually very lonely inside.

"Don’t worry, we can co back tomorrow to keep Grandpa company. Today, we’re going on a date."

A date?

Shen Qinglan could hardly believe such a word ca from Fu Hengyi’s mouth.

Indeed, Fu Hengyi took her on a date: shopping, watching movies, dining—everything young couples do, he did with her.

"I have clothes, no need to buy more," Shen Qinglan stood in front of an international brand store, reluctant to go in.

"Isn’t it said that a woman’s wardrobe always lacks a piece of clothing? Don’t worry, our house is big enough to fit your few clothes," Fu Hengyi wrapped an arm around Shen Qinglan’s shoulder and led her into the store.

To be honest, Shen Qinglan had never bought clothes from such stores. It wasn’t due to a lack of money; quite the opposite, her clothes were always custom-made by Shen Junyu. While they bore no logos, each piece was worth far more than anything here.

Shen Qinglan always preferred a low profile, even in her dressing style. Many people thought she wore unknown brands, never realizing they were custom designs.

"Welco," a store clerk greeted politely.

Fu Hengyi declined their recomndations and wandered through the racks himself. Shen Qinglan watched him with amusent, having no idea he had an interest in won’s fashion.

If Fu Hengyi knew what Shen Qinglan was thinking, he’d feel wronged. This was his first ti choosing clothes for a woman. He’d seen that her wardrobe was filled with casual styles and wanted her to try sothing different.

He brought her so clothes, "Try these?"

Shen Qinglan frowned at the clothes in his hands, "I don’t wear skirts." Her wardrobe never contained dresses.

"Just try, please?" Fu Hengyi looked at her, his eyes showing persistence mixed with tenderness.

Feeling slightly flustered by his gaze, she took the clothes and went into the dressing room.

Fu Hengyi sat patiently on the waiting area sofa, paying no mind to the whispered gossip of the nearby store clerks.

Shen Qinglan took her ti and finally erged from the dressing room. Though her face remained its usual aloof expression, her hands were slightly clenched—a sign of nervousness.

She didn’t know why she felt so nervous over rely changing clothes, like a shy young girl waiting for praise from her beloved.

She felt dumbstruck by her own thoughts.

Fu Hengyi’s eyes lit up when he saw her. The dress suited her perfectly, softening her aloof aura wonderfully.

He nodded in satisfaction, "You look beautiful in a dress." He was generous with complints.

Though he was known in the army as the stern "Devil Instructor," a strict and excellent child in the eyes of elders, he only wanted to be a man who cherished and loved her—one who could lt her aloofness and bring warmth.

Not prone to affectation, he felt no need to hide his feelings. He wanted Shen Qinglan clearly to know that he adored her, would accompany her for a lifeti, and aid to win her heart.

"Not used to it," Shen Qinglan frowned slightly.

"You’ll get used to it if you wear them more often," Fu Hengyi said, taking her hand to stop her from removing the dress.

"Please pack up these clothes for ," Fu Hengyi said lightly.

The store clerks were delighted; they loved such generous custors.

Leaving the mall, Fu Hengyi took Shen Qinglan to see a currently popular cri film. But watching the fight scenes, they were both uninterested; scenes that wowed other viewers appeared full of flaws to them. They left before the movie ended.
