The bedroom door opened slowly, and a tall figure walked in. Shen Qinglan’s eyes darkened as she lifted her foot, aiming a kick at the most painful part of the man’s body.

The intruder, startled, quickly retreated. Shen Qinglan advanced, striking with lightning speed. She aid for the opponent’s face but didn’t expect him to be quite skilled; he dodged each attack. The two exchanged several blows in the darkness, and Shen Qinglan’s gaze deepened, as it had been a long ti since she encountered such a skilled opponent.

Clenching her fist, Shen Qinglan planned to punch the opponent’s abdon but was caught as he grabbed her hand and pulled her into his embrace.

Her back hit a hard chest, and Shen Qinglan’s face turned cold as she raised her hand, intending to attack with her elbow, but the opponent quickly restrained her arm.

"It’s ," a deep and magnetic voice resonated in the night, leaving Shen Qinglan montarily stunned.

The lights switched on and Fu Hengyi’s face appeared before her eyes. Shen Qinglan looked at him in a daze, not expecting it to be him.

"Only a month apart, and you’re already planning on murdering your husband, hmm?" His voice lifted playfully at the end.

An awkward expression crossed Shen Qinglan’s usually cold face. If that kick had landed, the Fu Family’s future generations might indeed have been jeopardized.

"Who told you to sneak back ho in the middle of the night?" Shen Qinglan muttered softly, exhibiting a rare, tender deanor.

Fu Hengyi chuckled silently, "It’s my fault, I should have called you in advance. Sorry for scaring you."

His serious apology left Shen Qinglan at a loss for words. This was his ho; why would he need to announce his return?

"Well, how about you take a shower first?" Noticing the dark circles under his eyes and the stubble on his chin, along with the traces of mud on his clothes, Shen Qinglan pointed towards the bathroom.

Fu Hengyi was indeed exhausted. After four or five days without rest, even with his good physical condition, he was overwheld. He nodded, opening the wardrobe intending to get his pajamas.

He paused, surprised to see the neat arrangent inside: half n’s clothes, half won’s. One side was his, the other hers, clearly divided.

A slight smile appeared on Fu Hengyi’s lips, his mood lightened. He picked up his pajamas and headed to the bathroom.

In the bathroom, Fu Hengyi noticed new items on the sink: a lady’s facial cleanser, toothbrush, cup, his razor, and a new toothbrush in his original cup...

Beside them sat a green plant, adding vitality to the otherwise plain space. A gentle expression crossed Fu Hengyi’s eyes as he suddenly thought that this married life seed quite nice.

Once he entered the bathroom, Shen Qinglan’s face fell. Looking at the two-ter-wide bed, her delicate eyebrows twisted into a knot.

What should she do tonight? When Fu Hengyi wasn’t ho, Shen Qinglan hadn’t realized, but now that he was back, she saw that there was only this one bed in the entire apartnt. How should they sleep? Should Fu Hengyi sleep on the floor?

Or should she sleep in the living room?

For the first ti in twenty-one years, Shen Qinglan was so conflicted.

While Shen Qinglan wavered, Fu Hengyi finished his shower and ca out, wearing his neatly dressed pajamas. Shen Qinglan exhaled a sigh of relief.

Fu Hengyi, looking at the person standing by the bed, confused, said, "Why aren’t you sleeping? Did I wake you up and now you can’t fall asleep?"

Shen Qinglan, unable to co to a solution, turned to Fu Hengyi directly, "Where are you sleeping tonight?"

She passed the problem onto Fu Hengyi.

"Of course, I’ll sleep on the bed!" Fu Hengyi replied as if it were the most reasonable thing, with confidence.

Shen Qinglan choked, "Then I’ll sleep in the living room." She moved to open the wardrobe to get a spare quilt and pillow.

"Wait," Fu Hengyi stopped her, "Qinglan, we’re married now, legally husband and wife."

Shen Qinglan froze. Yes, they were legally married, and if Fu Hengyi asked her to fulfill her marital duties, it would be her obligation. She should have known this when she chose to marry him, right?

She didn’t leave but silently got into bed and lay down.

Fu Hengyi knew she misunderstood but didn’t explain. He lay down on the other side of the bed, and as he felt the bed dip, Shen Qinglan’s body tensed.

Fu Hengyi turned off the light, leaving the room in darkness, with only the sounds of their breathing filling the space.

Lying with her back to Fu Hengyi, Shen Qinglan’s expression was hidden from him, but her tense body revealed her nervousness.

For the first ti, he questioned his own charm. Did he look like a desperate lecher?

Shen Qinglan cald slightly after Fu Hengyi made no further moves, but just as she thought he had fallen asleep, she felt a hand around her waist, undeniably a man’s hand.

Shen Qinglan’s body stiffened, her gaze settling on the wardrobe, her eyes distant.

Fu Hengyi fully embraced Shen Qinglan, feeling the tension in the fragile body, he smiled quietly. He intended to let Shen Qinglan get used to his presence.

"Don’t worry, as long as you’re not willing, I won’t do anything," Fu Hengyi said gently, graciously in her ear.

Shen Qinglan remained silent.

And after that, Fu Hengyi indeed made no further moves. He rely held her waist, not even shifting his hand.

After a long ti, only when Shen Qinglan sensed the steady breathing from behind and realized he truly was asleep, did she gradually relax, closed her eyes, and drifted into dreams.

Fu Hengyi opened his eyes, though he couldn’t see, he sensed Shen Qinglan was genuinely asleep. Only then did he softly whisper a good night into her ear, closing his eyes in fatigue.

He truly was exhausted; even had Shen Qinglan requested anything of him, he wouldn’t have had the strength.

He wasn’t an iron man. The continuous tasks over four or five days had drained both his physical and ntal energy. Originally, he shouldn’t have returned at this ti. However, he couldn’t stop worrying about Shen Qinglan, especially after seeing the photos she sent, his longing to return intensified to an unparalleled degree, driving him ho in the middle of the night.

Upon arriving ho, he knew Shen Qinglan was surely asleep at that hour. He hadn’t intended to disturb her, planning only to grab a change of clothes from the bedroom and sleep on the couch. Unexpectedly, Shen Qinglan was so alert, he had deliberately lightened his steps, yet she still noticed.

Despite exchanging only a few moves, Fu Hengyi could tell Shen Qinglan was quite skilled. Considering the Shen Family’s patriarch’s identity, it was normal for their descendants to know a few moves.
