They were all small-ti thugs from around the area, frequently involved in petty cris and regulars in the police station. Tonight, while wandering near the bar, they spotted Ya Xi alone.
At first, seeing her decked out in designer brands, they thought of robbing her. Little did they expect this girl to be so attractive that the three couldn’t help but harbor ill intentions, dragging Ya Xi into a little-frequented alley.
Ya Xi, seeing two people attacking Shen Qinglan, truly panicked. She tried to break free from the grip of the yellow-haired thug, but she was too weak to escape. She could only shout for Shen Qinglan to run.
"Do you know who I am? I’m telling you, you better let and my sister go right now, and I won’t hold this against you tonight. Otherwise, when my family finds out, you’ll be in prison for life."
As soon as she finished speaking, the yellow-haired thug laughed heartily. "You little girl, if you can send to prison for life, I’d even thank you."
The few of them weren’t afraid of these threats; to them, it seed like re posturing.
anwhile, the red-haired and green-haired thugs had already approached Shen Qinglan. The green-haired one’s hand was almost touching her face when a scream pierced the sky.
Shen Qinglan had grabbed Green Hair’s wrist and twisted it at a strange angle, forcing him to kneel on the ground in pain, clearly the source of the previous scream.
"It hurts, you foul woman, let go of !" Green Hair scread, but Shen Qinglan’s expression remained unchanged, even as she applied more force, causing him to let out a more piercing scream. His uninjured hand braced against the ground, unable to utter a word.
Seeing this, Red Hair realized they’d encountered a formidable foe. Noticing Shen Qinglan holding sothing in one hand, he quickly grabbed a stick near a trash can, glaring at her nacingly. "Let go of my brother."
Shen Qinglan glanced at him indifferently, paying no attention to the stick in his hand.
With a fierce expression, Red Hair raised the stick and swung it toward the hand Shen Qinglan used to restrain Green Hair.
Seeing the stick about to hit Shen Qinglan’s hand, Ya Xi scread and closed her eyes.
"Ah." Accompanied by the scream, there was a man’s painful cry, though it wasn’t Green Hair’s.
Ya Xi opened her eyes and saw Red Hair lying in the corner, clutching his stomach in pain, while Shen Qinglan calmly retracted her foot.
Ya Xi’s eyes lit up as she looked at Shen Qinglan with admiration.
Shen Qinglan’s gaze landed on the yellow-haired thug. "Let her go."
Upon eting Shen Qinglan’s gaze, Yellow Hair shivered and inadvertently lowered his hand. As soon as she was free, Ya Xi imdiately ran to Shen Qinglan’s side, looking at the three thugs with pride.
"I told you we’re not to be ssed with, but you didn’t believe . Now you see how formidable my sister is, huh."
Shen Qinglan caught a glimpse of Ya Xi showing off and let out a helpless smile, thinking how just monts ago, she was the one screaming in fear.
Ya Xi didn’t care about any of that; all she knew was that she once again saw her beloved big sister, and this sister saved her as well.
Shen Qinglan had released Green Hair’s hand and looked at them. "Aren’t you leaving?"
Yellow Hair hurriedly helped the fallen Red Hair up, and the three of them scrambled and tumbled out of the alley.
Only after the three were gone did Ya Xi truly breathe a sigh of relief. She picked up her bag from the ground and ran back to Shen Qinglan’s side.
"Big Sister, thank you for saving ." Her eyes were shining brightly.
"Why are you here alone?" Shen Qinglan glanced at her face, sared like a panda’s, wondering how those three thugs could have still targeted her.
Ya Xi scratched her head awkwardly. She couldn’t say that she snuck out alone without her brother’s knowledge.
She only wanted to see what a bar was like, but her family kept her under tight watch normally. She had no chance to go to any bar, so she sneaked out when her brother was out with friends, only to end up in this situation.
Ya Xi was also a bit scared now, not knowing what she would have done if Shen Qinglan hadn’t appeared tonight.
Thinking that, she couldn’t help but hug Shen Qinglan’s arm.
Shen Qinglan stiffened. She didn’t like physical contact with people, especially strangers, but when she t Ya Xi’s wet eyes, she didn’t pull away after all.
"Call your family and have them pick you up."
Ya Xi shook her head like a rattle. "No, Big Sister, if my brother finds out, he’ll definitely kill . He’s really fierce."
Rolling her eyes, she continued, "Big Sister, why don’t I go ho with you? Don’t you live in Hang City? I’ll stay with you for the night, and tomorrow my brother can pick up, okay?"
"No." Shen Qinglan refused imdiately. She herself was staying at a hotel. If Ya Xi went back with her, her lie would be exposed imdiately. Though she didn’t care much, it was still a bit awkward.
"Big Sister, please?" Ya Xi pleaded, clinging to Shen Qinglan’s arm coquettishly. But no matter how much she acted spoiled, Shen Qinglan wasn’t swayed.
Ya Xi pouted, reluctantly releasing her grip, "Okay, I’ll call my brother then, but Big Sister, will you stay with while I wait for my brother to co? Maybe I can have him give you a ride."
This ti, Shen Qinglan didn’t refuse. Ya Xi imdiately bead as she called her brother, completely forgetting that she might get scolded.
The two of them walked toward the alley entrance. They hadn’t gone far before reaching Changhua Street, as the young woman had ntioned. It turned out to be a street full of bars, no wonder she said it was easy to catch a taxi here.
Simultaneously glancing at Ya Xi, Shen Qinglan was puzzled about how a young girl like her dared to co to such an alley alone, but now it seed the answer was clear.
Under Shen Qinglan’s gaze, Ya Xi blushed, dropping her head in embarrassnt, her eyes resting on Shen Qinglan’s hand, from which a faint fragrance emanated.
As her petite nose twitched, her stomach growled in tily hunger, deepening the embarrassnt on Ya Xi’s face as she dared not look up at Shen Qinglan.
Shen Qinglan could only see the top of the young girl’s head, noticing how her little hands twisted about. A hint of a smile appeared in her eyes as she offered her the pastry in her hand.
"Eat it."
Ya Xi’s eyes brightened as she accepted the pastry, taking only the top box. She eagerly opened it and stuffed a piece into her mouth.
"Mmm, tasty, tasty, this pastry is really tasty." Her cheeks puffed out as she spoke unclearly.
Swallowing a piece of pastry, Ya Xi exclaid, "Big Sister, you’re so good to , how should I repay you? How about I marry you?"
She seed to think it was a good idea, her eyes lighting up with anticipation as she looked at Shen Qinglan.
