Blade Troop Base, Mu Liancheng was looking at Fu Hengyi with a serious face, "Captain, are you really leaving the Sharp Blade?"

Fu Hengyi glanced at him indifferently, "Where did you hear this news?"

"So it’s true?" Mu Liancheng couldn’t believe it as he looked at Fu Hengyi, "Captain, why?"

"These are not things you should be concerned with; the military exercise is about to start. What you need to do is arrange everything for this military exercise. We’ll talk about the rest after it’s over," Fu Hengyi said gravely.

Mu Liancheng stared at him steadily, "Captain, I haven’t followed you for ten years, but it has been seven or eight. We’ve been through life and death together so many tis. Now I just ask for a reason, and you won’t even tell ?"

Fu Hengyi raised his eyes and t his gaze. After a long mont, he sighed gently, "Liancheng, it’s ti for to retire. I now have a family and am about to beco a father. I want to spend more ti with my wife and my child."

Mu Liancheng was startled; he had never seen Fu Hengyi like this before. When he ntioned his wife and child, his whole deanor softened.

"We are soldiers; we protect our holand and might not see our loved ones more than a few tis a year. The constant separation and infrequent reunions would soften even the toughest man’s heart; we too miss ho, miss our families. I’m no different. I used to fear nothing, but now I’m afraid of death. I worry that if I die, there will be no one to take care of my wife, and my child will beco another ."

Mu Liancheng knew that Fu Hengyi’s parents had sacrificed themselves when he was very young, and he was raised by his grandfather.

Hearing his words made Mu Liancheng’s heart ache.

"I am your captain, your leader, but I am now timid and afraid of death. Soone like is no longer suitable for the Sharp Blade. I have already recomnded you to the superiors; I believe you can do even better."

"Captain."

Fu Hengyi waved his hand, "Liancheng, I know what you want to say, but let this be my selfish act."

Mu Liancheng looked at Fu Hengyi blankly, "I understand, Captain. I will arrange this military exercise well and strive for an excellent performance."

Fu Hengyi looked at him with approval; Mu Liancheng was soone he had brought up himself, a true brother who had been through life and death, "Actually, you don’t need to take it so seriously. I’m just changing my place of work."

Mu Liancheng saluted, "Captain, I’ll be going out now."

Fu Hengyi waved his hand; he knew his decision would sadden his brothers, but as he said, he allowed himself to be selfish just this once.

Ti flew by, and soon it was ti for the military exercise. The leadership had already reviewed the detailed plan and was quite satisfied with Mu Liancheng’s arrangents, "Since you’re ready, let’s depart. This military exercise should be nothing difficult for you."

Fu Hengyi saluted and walked out of the leader’s office. The helicopter had arrived, and he glanced at the waiting team mbers, "Depart."

The team mbers boarded the helicopter in an orderly manner, with Fu Hengyi being the last.

They would be participating in the exercise as the Blue Army, which ant they stood alone, enemies on all sides. As long as they could eliminate more than two-thirds of the forces on both sides, it would be their victory.

So had already begun to get excited, and Fu Hengyi’s gaze swept over them one by one, "Once this military exercise is over, if we lose, you know the consequences..."

All team mbers shook vigorously, "We guarantee to complete the mission."

This exercise was to take place in a rainforest along the border of Country Z, lasting for seven days. The Beijing Military Region and the South City Military District each contributed two hundred people, and Fu Hengyi’s unit sent twenty n. The military exercise had actually begun two days prior, and in the next five days, finding those scattered four hundred people in such a vast rainforest was extrely difficult. Yet as Fu Hengyi had said, if there were no challenges, could it still be called a test of their abilities?

The team mbers disembarked from the airplane and, without needing further instructions from Fu Hengyi, they picked up their equipnt and dived into the rainforest, disappearing into it as if they were natives living there.

Watching this scene through the lens, the command room leaders admired the capabilities of the Sharp Blade. It was the first ti the Sharp Blade had officially appeared before the public eye. Many had heard of this mysterious unit before, and while the Sharp Blade had participated in exercises, those were small-scale. This was the first ti they were involved in such a large-scale operation.

"Will just these few people really be enough, considering we have a full four hundred on our side?" One of the Military Region leaders questioned. Though more than fifty had already been eliminated in the first two days, there were still over three hundred left, all of whom were elite. Even facing such elite forces, it seed impossible to him that a re twenty n could triumph over these three hundred-plus.

The Sharp Blade’s leader was also present, responding with a smile, "Just watch, the outco will surely surprise you." Their numbers were few, but they had a great advantage: the forces from the South City Military District and the Beijing Military Region had no idea about the third party’s involvent. As long as Fu Hengyi and his n played their cards right, they were the hidden enemy.

Open enemies weren’t frightening, but hidden adversaries were terrifying. People instinctively feared the unknown.

The facts turned out much as the leader of the Sharp Blade had expected. With the participation of Fu Hengyi’s team, the "casualty" rate of both sides increased dramatically, and what was more important was that neither side noticed anything amiss. This darkened the faces of the leaders from both Military Regions.

In contrast, the leader of the Sharp Blade was all smiles, his eyes squinted to re slits, and the sight made the other leaders want to drag him out and give him a beating—his smile was that annoying.

Beijing, the Fu Family.

When Shen Qinglan woke up in the morning, she rarely experienced morning sickness again. Ever since her third month of pregnancy, her little one had ceased to trouble her, but now the kid had started again. After recovering from the nausea, Shen Qinglan touched her belly and said with a gentle laugh, "Stirring up trouble for Mommy early in the morning; you’re really not behaving."

Having just thrown up, Shen Qinglan didn’t have much of an appetite that morning and ate even less than usual. Old Sir Fu watched with furrowed brows, "Qinglan, eat a bit more. How could this little be enough?"

"Grandfather, I’ve already eaten my fill and can’t eat anymore."

"Other pregnant won at your stage have already ballooned into a sphere. Look at you—so thin that if you went out and said you were pregnant, no one would believe it."

Shen Qinglan just smiled and didn’t speak. Although her belly was now showing, if she wore slightly loose clothes, it really wasn’t noticeable. She had been sowhat worried that there might be sothing wrong with the baby, but the doctor had said it was a normal situation—so babies develop quickly early on, while others develop more slowly.

"Grandfather, I’ve eaten quite a bit already," Shen Qinglan said.

Her appetite was usually quite good; it was just that she had eaten a little less today. "Qinglan, are you feeling unwell sowhere today?"

Shen Qinglan smiled, "Not at all. I probably just ate too much last night and am not hungry this morning."

Knowing that she truly couldn’t eat anymore, Old Sir Fu didn’t press the issue, "Well, you can eat more when you’re hungry later."

Shen Qinglan nodded.

Since her body had begun to show her pregnancy, the clothes she had bought previously were now a bit uncomfortable to wear, particularly her bras. That’s why she had specially asked Chu Yunrong to accompany her to the mall to shop for clothes today.

Chu Yunrong was naturally very willing and had guessed that Shen Qinglan would have finished her breakfast by the ti she arrived.

Once they reached the mall, Shen Qinglan watched Chu Yunrong’s shopping prowess with resignation, as another round of heavy purchasing ensued. With all the items Chu Yunrong was buying, she herself would not have had to wear the sa outfit twice even if she changed daily for a month.

Seeing Chu Yunrong acting as if she intended to move the entire mall back ho, Shen Qinglan quickly steered her into a restaurant.

"Miss Shen," as the two were dining, a familiar voice reached their ears.

Shen Qinglan looked up to see Qin Yan, a gleam of deep light flashing through her eyes, "Ms. Qin."

Qin Yan’s smile was warm, "I didn’t expect to et Miss Shen here once again. What a coincidence! If you don’t mind, may I join you?"

Shen Qinglan’s lips curved into a faint smile, "Of course."

Qin Yan took a seat opposite Shen Qinglan, and the waiter brought an extra pair of chopsticks.

"Ms. Qin seems to be frequently in Beijing. Are you living here now?" Shen Qinglan asked softly.

Qin Yan chuckled, "I live in Nancheng, but there’s no one at ho usually, and it gets boring being all by myself. So I often co to Beijing to stroll around and visit. Besides, I have a friend here with whom I sotis enjoy tea and chat, and occasionally I stay for a few days."

Shen Qinglan inwardly scoffed. Jin Enxi had already investigated this woman and knew she didn’t have anyone she was close to in Beijing, let alone a friend to chat and drink tea with.

Although Shen Qinglan knew Qin Yan was lying, she didn’t expose her, simply comnting, "You must be quite close with this friend then."

Qin Yan smiled and remained silent.

Chu Yunrong had grown quite familiar with Qin Yan, having encountered her twice with Shen Qinglan already. "Why isn’t Ms. Qin with her children?"

Qin Yan smiled faintly, "I don’t have any children of my own. My current husband’s daughter has gone abroad, and his son is working in another region. My husband is a soldier and spends most of his ti at the base. So I’m just there at ho by myself."

Chu Yunrong was a military wife herself and naturally understood the loneliness of having a husband away for long periods. Considering that the woman before her had neither children of her own nor did she seem to enjoy the warm relationship with her stepchildren, her day-to-day life seed quite imaginable. No matter how good her material life was, her sense of inner happiness was not strong.

Chu Yunrong felt a tinge of sympathy for Qin Yan, but still couldn’t bring herself to like the woman, perhaps influenced by Shen Qinglan’s cool attitude towards her.

Shen Qinglan knew she was referring to Ya Xi and Yan Shengyu. A chill flashed in her eyes, and despite having no evidence linking Qin Yan with Mrs. Jin, she still harbored suspicions. There was also no proof that there was no connection between them, right?

"Ms. Qin’s husband is a soldier?" Shen Qinglan feigned surprise as she inquired.
