One of the curly-haired girls looked at Yu Xiaoxuan with disdain and said, "Xitong, what kind of taste does your little sister have to be friends with such a loser? She’s totally degrading her own status."
Shen Xitong’s face seed a bit unnatural. "Don’t say that. My little sister... After all, she didn’t grow up in Beijing. When she ca back ho, she didn’t have many friends, so naturally she’s a bit closer to the one she made."
"But you can’t just be friends with anyone. When you go back, you should also talk to your sister seriously. Tell her that when making friends, she should look at the person’s status. Even if you’re making friends, there should be a suitable match," the curly-haired girl said earnestly.
Yu Xiaoxuan originally didn’t want to bother with them, but their words beca more and more offensive. Finally, she couldn’t hold back anymore. She slamd her wine glass onto the bar and glared at the speaking curly-haired girl. "What my status is none of your business. Instead of having all this idle ti, why don’t you look at yourself in the mirror? You’re nothing but sycophants following others around—and you have the nerve to talk about others?"
Then she glared at Shen Xitong. "And you, don’t get started on knowing your own status. You’re nothing but the Shen Family’s adopted daughter, daring to look down on Qinglan behind her back. If Grandpa Shen heard what you said today, you can kiss your Lady Shen title goodbye."
The face of the curly-haired girl turned a shade of green then black as Yu Xiaoxuan spoke, and Shen Xitong’s expression wasn’t much better. They hadn’t expected that, with Shen Qinglan absent, this brat would still dare to be so arrogant.
But Shen Xitong always maintained a good public image. Even though she wanted nothing more than to tear Yu Xiaoxuan apart right then, she managed to not show it on her face. Instead, she spoke sowhat aggrievedly, "I know my sister has always disliked because our mother prefers . It’s natural for her friend to dislike too, but I would appreciate if you could watch what you say. I didn’t an to insult my sister; I was just being friendly by coming over to say hi."
Seeing that even Shen Xitong was spoken to that way and still kept her cool to explain, the curly-haired girl’s temper flared up. "Who do you think you are, you poor loser? Daring to talk back and call a dog? Today I will teach you so manners."
The curly-haired girl cursed while rolling up her sleeves, ready to hit Yu Xiaoxuan. But Yu Xiaoxuan was not soone to be trifled with. Before the curly-haired girl could land a slap, Yu Xiaoxuan had already smacked her across the face.
The curly-haired girl couldn’t believe that Yu Xiaoxuan had dared to fight back. She looked at her in shock. From childhood, she had been the apple of her family’s eye—never hit, hardly ever scolded. Now that she had suffered such indignity, there was no way she would let it slide.
Shen Xitong stood to one side, her face tense with concern when she saw the curly-haired girl get hit. "Yuanyuan, are you okay?"
The girl known as Yuanyuan pushed Shen Xitong aside. She had only intended to stand up for Shen Xitong, but now Yu Xiaoxuan had ignited her rage. "Xitong, move out of the way. If I don’t give her a good lesson today, I’m not Lin Yuan."
Shen Xitong was shoved to one side, her face filled with panic, but a hint of satisfaction flashed through her eyes.
She watched the two about to start fighting and anxiously turned to the two n who ca with her. "You guys need to break it up, don’t let them fight. What if soone gets hurt?"
One of the n spread his hands helplessly. "They’re both won. If won fight, how would it look for n to get involved?"
The other man nodded in agreent with a look of excitent on his face.
In reality, both n could see that Yu Xiaoxuan was drunk. The mont she stood up to hit Lin Yuan, her steps were unsteady. If Lin Yuan wasn’t caught off guard, Yu Xiaoxuan wouldn’t have been able to land a hit. Knowing Lin Yuan wouldn’t be at a disadvantage, why would they intervene?
Shen Xitong knew it was all for show as well. Seeing they weren’t going to step forward, she just stood there shouting, "Can’t we talk this out without getting physical?" but she didn’t move an inch. Deep down, she was reveling in Yu Xiaoxuan’s misfortune.
Yu Xiaoxuan saw Lin Yuan about to slap her and wanted to dodge, but realized she was lightheaded and unsteady on her feet. As the slap was about to co down, she tightly closed her eyes.
The expected pain didn’t co, so she cautiously opened her eyes, only to find that out of nowhere, a hand had reached out and was firmly holding Lin Yuan’s wrist. Following the hand upwards, she saw Han Yi’s devastatingly seductive face.
Han Yi looked at Lin Yuan with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, "As a young lady, it’s better not to resort to violence. You might end up unable to find a husband in the future."
Lin Yuan’s face turned red. She naturally recognized Han Yi, one of the Six Young Masters of Beijing.
Han Yi let go of Lin Yuan’s wrist. Lin Yuan sheepishly lowered her hand and didn’t strike out again, but her expression was still unpleasant. "Young Master Han, you know this pauper?"
Han Yi glanced at the "pauper," Yu Xiaoxuan, who was rubbing her temples ceaselessly, evidently drunk and uncomfortable. A flicker of displeasure crossed his eyes, but it was so quick that it was nearly uncatchable.
"I do."
"I don’t."
The voices of Han Yi and Yu Xiaoxuan rose together, the forr from Han Yi, the latter from Yu Xiaoxuan.
Han Yi’s face darkened, and he glared at Yu Xiaoxuan, this ungrateful girl. He had just helped her, and she was already burning the bridge before they had even crossed the river.
Yu Xiaoxuan glared back defiantly. Seeing this dead siren was simply bad luck.
Originally, as Yu Xiaoxuan’s boss, Han Yi didn’t have much interaction with her. They wouldn’t normally be at odds like this. However, sothing had happened recently that made Yu Xiaoxuan angry at the re sight of Han Yi.
Here’s what happened.
A week ago, Yu Xiaoxuan had been given a day off by Linda for her outstanding hardworking performance during training. Yu Xiaoxuan hadn’t been ho for a long ti, so she decided to visit her parents. The Yu family, rarely together, enjoyed this reunion, and Mr. Yu generously decided to treat his wife and daughter to a restaurant and booked a private room.
Partway through the al, Yu Xiaoxuan suddenly needed to use the washroom. On her way back, she passed by another room and heard a girl’s crying from inside. The door was ajar, and out of curiosity, Yu Xiaoxuan peered through the gap.
Then she saw Han Yi, smartly dressed in a suit, sitting back in his chair like a lord. In front of him was a girl crying her eyes out, her back to Xiaoxuan. Though she couldn’t see the girl’s face, from the slender figure, she could guess it wasn’t a bad sight from the front either.
"Yi, this child is really yours. Please don’t abandon him, okay?" The girl spoke softly, pleadingly.
Han Yi was the picture of indifference. "Don’t make say it a second ti. Go to the hospital and get rid of it."
