Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Completely Shattering His Perception

Ah Dai understood everything once those words were spoken. It had to be Long Qi. Long Qi was diligent and would report everything to him. Saying he was protecting her was more like he was surveilling her.

The young girl muttered, “Then you’re really sothing.”

Qin Yu heard the unhappiness in her voice, yet he didn’t avoid it and directly said, “I had Long Qi follow you primarily to ensure your safety, and secondly, because I don’t trust that friend of yours.”

Ah Dai stopped in her tracks, “Why? Bronze Sword is my friend, and she has always been good to .”

Qin Yu countered, “What do you think?”

Ah Dai suddenly understood. He was afraid she would run away, but where could she possibly go? The incense burner was in his possession.

...

These were the thoughts Ah Dai dared not voice; she was sowhat afraid of Qin Yu. It was probably better not to continue on such a sensitive topic.

“So… why did you call ?”

Qin Yu said, “Master Ting Chan wants to et you. He is the residing master of the Demon Control Bureau at Lingcheng Mountain. He is experienced and knowledgeable, and he might have a solution for your current situation.”

In reality, although Master Ting Chan had a deep relationship with the Qin family and Mr. Qin, Qin Yu was relatively indifferent to him. He even invested in the reconstruction of Lingcheng Mountain mostly out of respect for his grandfather, as Qin Yu never believed in such elusive things.

It was all until Ah Dai showed up, completely shattering his beliefs.

He recognized that there indeed were things in this world beyond imagination that could not be explained by science.

Ah Dai was stunned for a mont. By saying this, did Qin Yu an that he ca to Lingcheng Mountain because of her?

So, he had heard all her conversations with Bronze Sword.

“Look up.”

Two distinctly different voices ca through. Ah Dai looked up, only to see a tall figure standing under a large tree at the corner, his features as exquisite as a celestial descending to earth, his grey-black clothes perfectly fitted, cold and noble.

The natural landscape that bound the heaven and earth behind him paled in comparison to the slight gentleness between his brows, which was breathtakingly captivating.

Ah Dai montarily forgot to move, staring blankly in place as she watched Qin Yu approaching her, bathed in light.

This scene seed familiar, as though she had seen it sowhere. Sothing flashed through her mind, but Ah Dai couldn’t catch it.

Only when she slled his unique cold fragrance did Ah Dai snap back to reality, realizing they were too close. She nervously took a small step back and looked up at him,

“Why are you here?”

Qin Yu hung up the phone, his gaze fixed on the petite girl in front of him. Her small physique, braids gently resting on her shoulders, her face still pale and delicate, her nose petite, her lips moist, and her large, round eyes timidly looking up at him, she resembled a sprite that had walked out of the woods.

Qin Yu couldn’t look away, reaching out to smooth a few stray strands of hair from her head. Her braids were a bit disheveled.

“I ca to find you.”

Ah Dai noticed his action and also reached up to tidy her hair, nervously asking him, “Is it ssy?”

“It’s not ssy.”

Qin Yu took her hand and led her back.

The little girl obediently let him lead her.

Ah Dai had not expected Qin Yu to co find her in person since she always had bodyguards around, ensuring her safety. He couldn’t possibly have co because he was worried about her, right?

Probably not.

After thinking it over and still finding no answer, Ah Dai simply gave up on trying to figure it out. Qin Yu’s thoughts were always hard to fathom, changing from one mont to the next. She better not trouble herself anymore.

Ah Dai’s attention shifted to their clasped hands. Qin Yu’s hand was well-defined, sizably larger than hers, almost completely enveloping her hand.

His palm was slightly warm, his body temperature always much higher than hers. Ah Dai generally didn’t like to be close to warm objects; she preferred water, feeling secure when imrsed in it. But Qin Yu’s hand gave her a different sensation.

She was willing to be led by him.

Qin Yu noticed sothing odd, he lowered his head, his heart stirred slightly, and he saw the young girl beside him looking up at him, unblinkingly, her eyes clear and bright like colored glaze, pure and focused beneath long, dark lashes.

“Why do you keep looking at ?”

Ah Da responded honestly, “I think you’re good-looking.”

Qin Yu chuckled softly, his other hand lifting her chin up, his pale face inscrutable, “Are you hiding sothing from ?”

Ah Da fell into his gaze, her mind unable to think of anything else, she murmured quietly, “No.”

The girl looked dazed, and Qin Yu let go of her soft cheek, rubbed her head, and said no more.

Whenever it was like this, Qin Yu felt that Ah Da exhibited clear small animal behaviors, her eyes sparkling like a kitten’s when she looked at people, gentle and soft, evoking an infinite tenderness, but when she bit people, she was fierce like a rabbit, timid after biting, and could scare herself into crying.

The last ti she cuddled his hand, it seed more like an instinctive action revealing animalistic nature when emotions were overwhelming.

And her tears would turn into pearls…

Qin Yu had his suspicions, and this visit to Master Ting Chan was precisely because of this matter, Master Ting Chan showed great interest in Ah Da after seeing the Green Jade Incense Burner, hoping to et her in person.

The two returned to the courtyard and saw Su Qingtong and Long Qi standing on opposite sides of a blue-and-white porcelain water tank, avoiding each other’s gaze.

“You’re finally back, where did you go?”

Upon seeing Ah Da, Su Qingtong stood up straight, and when she saw the two holding hands, her gaze turned subtle.

Blushing, Ah Da pulled away from Qin Yu’s hand and walked up to apologize to Su Qingtong, “The scenery on the mountain path was so beautiful, I accidentally lost track of ti, I’m sorry for worrying you.”

Su Qingtong pulled her over and squeezed her braided hair, “It’s okay, I was just worried you, with your wooden head, might get lost in the mountains and end up eaten by demons without leaving a trace.”

Ah Da always felt that Su Qingtong’s words implied sothing.

At that mont, Yao Qingzhi ca out of the house and told Qin Yu, “Mr. Qin, you can go in now.”

Was it ti to et Master Ting Chan?

Ah Da felt sowhat uneasy for no reason; Little Pink Bottle had told her nurous folk tales about worldly masters defeating demons, and even Su Qingtong had ntioned professions like demon-slaying Taoists and monks who inherently had prejudices against demons.

She wondered whether Master Ting Chan was a monk or a Taoist?

Suddenly seeing Su Qingtong make a move, Yao Qingzhi specifically added, “Only Mr. Qin and Miss Su are allowed in.”

Master Ting Chan’s rules were strict, if he didn’t want to et soone, even if God himself ca, he wouldn’t appear, and Su Qingtong obviously knew this, hands on hips and glaring at Yao Qingzhi, “Did you need to say that?”

Yao Qingzhi responded, “I’m just worried that so might not follow the rules.”

Su Qingtong didn’t back down, imdiately retorting, “You, Yao Qingzhi, are the most rule-abiding, you’re the embodint of rules, you’ve grown up feeding on rules, haven’t you?”

Ah Da’s eyes darted back and forth, finding the squabble between the two quite amusing, Qin Yu called her, “Ah Da.”

“Oh, coming.”

Ah Da glanced hurriedly at Su Qingtong, who waved to her, “Go on, rember to ask clearly, and if Old Man Ting Chan puts on airs and refuses to speak, just call , I’ll rush in and beat him up. The old man deserves it.”

Ah Da dared not; if Su Qingtong really barged in, she would definitely end up fighting with Yao Qingzhi.

The young girl, swinging her braided pigtails, trotted next to Qin Yu and, entering the door, nervously clutched the corner of Qin Yu’s clothing.

Ah Da had expected to see a majestic, inscrutable old man with an aura of a saint, but instead, she saw an unkempt old man dozing off next to a tea table.
