Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Amusent Park Ferris Wheel
Qin Yu walked over with a light jacket draped over his arm and reached out to her.
“Let’s go, it’s getting late.”
Ah Da happily placed her hand in his and, taking the lead, began to walk briskly in front of him.
“Qin Yu, shouldn’t we buy tickets first?”
“Mm.”
Qin Yu had wanted her to enjoy herself to the fullest, so he hadn’t had soone arrange everything in advance, purposely allowing her to experience the whole process just like any other girl.
Ah Da was delighted like a child, insisting on queuing up by herself, and ran off with both their ID cards.
Qin Yu couldn’t relax, stood not far away watching her, and anwhile sorted through recent developnts with the Lu Family; Long Qi had reported to him after work that they had followed clues all the way to Pu Cheng only to discover they were again one step behind, with the Lu Family having eluded them once more.
Their forr stronghold in Capital City had long been deserted without a trace left behind, and although the Lu Family’s assets and headquarters were overseas, their influence within the country was not to be underestimated.
The Lu Family’s investnts were extensive, especially in dical research and biological surveys at various universities. Long Qi speculated they might have wanted to use Ah Da for their research, which might be why they attempted to capture her.
Only, it was unclear how they had discovered Ah Da’s real identity and where the problem had arisen.
Qin Yu couldn’t figure it out for the mont.
The saying goes, a cunning hare has three burrows; they wouldn’t give up on Ah Da easily. Now hidden in so corner, they were probably plotting.
Sooner or later, they would no longer be able to bear the pressure; actions were already underway against the Lu Family’s above-board industries, including simultaneous efforts abroad. Once their lifeline was threatened, they would beco desperate.
Given their extraordinary thods, Qin Yu planned to discuss a major deal with Lingcheng Mountain.
Two or three girls nudging each other walked over, blushing and about to greet him when Qin Yu looked over indifferently, causing them to imdiately quieten down and scurry away dejectedly.
The man was dressed in casual black and white clothes, broad-shouldered and long-legged, his deanor serene, and with a string of pearl bracelets on his wrist that didn’t make him look effeminate but rather highlighted his cool and noble bearing.
His outstanding appearance made people around him steal glances, but his unusual aura deterred them from approaching.
However, there were always the bold ones.
When Ah Da turned around with the tickets in hand, she saw two girls in very short skirts, their faces red, walking toward Qin Yu. Her heart tightened, and she quickly stepped forward.
Before the girls could speak, Ah Da grabbed Qin Yu’s hand, like a little animal protecting its food, unwilling to allow anyone else to approach.
Seeing their clasped hands, the girls showed a hint of embarrassnt on their pretty faces, whispered an apology, and ran with friends back into the crowd, vanishing in an instant.
Ah Da, fuming, stuffed the tickets into Qin Yu’s hand, her eyes fixed on his face. Being handso was troubleso—it was too easy to catch others’ attention. She couldn’t bla others for their admiration; she herself was often enchanted.
“What’s the matter?” Qin Yu, holding the tickets, looked down at the little girl pouting in front of him and deliberately asked.
Ah Da blinked her big eyes and huffed, “I think you should wear a mask when you go out, to avoid drawing a crowd and causing unnecessary trouble.”
Qin Yu pinched her fingers lightly and said indifferently, “What? As the girlfriend, you don’t want to take any responsibility?”
Ah Da’s eyes widened in surprise, not expecting his counter-question and montarily at a loss for words.
Qin Yu held her in his arms and chuckled softly.
“Jealous?”
Ah Da, irritated, twisted his arm. “No.”
Even if she was jealous, she wouldn’t admit it; anyway, it was all his fault.
Qin Yu knew her skin was thin. The strategy of counter-accusation never failed, but her showing jealousy was a good thing—it was at least a step forward compared to before.
He was very pleased.
After entering through the ticket gate, they followed the crowd inward. The man was tall and handso, the girl petite and exquisite, drawing the attention of many who raised their phones to take photos of them.
Qin Yu cast a cold glance around, his intimidating presence causing those sneaking photos to hurriedly shift their caras away.
Ah Da was preoccupied, not paying attention to her surroundings. As she walked, she covertly looked up at Qin Yu, who had his lips pursed and brows naturally tinged with a sense of aloofness.
Perhaps it was because of his good looks; the colder he was, the more people felt the impulse to approach him.
Moth to a fla.
Still hesitant, Ah Da couldn’t help but whisper what was on her mind, “Anyway, my boyfriend won’t let get close to anyone else.”
Revealing a bit of her possessiveness, Ah Da dared not look at him anymore. She lowered her head and stepped more firmly, following the lights that danced on the ground beneath her.
Qin Yu’s response ca from above her head, followed by a palm gently resting on it, patting twice in a soothing motion.
Ah Da’s whole body shuddered, her heartbeat suddenly quickened. She didn’t look up, but her lips already began to curl upwards.
He had just said “okay.”
As they approached the Ferris wheel, the colossal structure lood large before them. Ah Da excitedly ran toward it,
“It’s so big, so high!”
It was much larger than she imagined, its myriad of lights looking incredibly magical and splendid.
Qin Yu pulled her to buy tickets, eager to queue and board the cabin. Along the way, a girl discreetly asked Ah Da,
“Miss, are you and your boyfriend celebrities? Don’t worry, I definitely won’t tell anyone.”
Ah Da shook her head no.
The girl looked surprised and covered her mouth in regret, “It’s such a pity you two aren’t acting with such good looks.”
Ah Da just smiled without saying anything.
The girl then asked if she could take a picture, and Ah Da quickly declined, knowing that with Qin Yu’s personality, he probably wouldn’t like being photographed by others.
Eventually, the girl was dragged away by her boyfriend.
Ah Da let out a sigh of relief and noticed Qin Yu gazing at her with downturned eyes, the night scenery reflecting in his dark pupils that faintly exuded tenderness, making her heart tremble.
The Ferris wheel stood beside the river, offering not only a full view of the amusent park but also the various luxurious yachts on the river.
The scene was srizing; the splendor of Capital City was fully on display.
As they slowly reached the highest point, Ah Da took out her phone and started snapping photos, but suddenly turned it toward Qin Yu.
The man sat in his seat, arm casually resting on the armrest, looking lazy and relaxed. An ordinary posture, yet on him, it carried a fatal sex appeal.
Ah Da held up her phone, unable to take her eyes off him.
The next second, through the lens, their eyes t. He squinted, and seeing the girl in front of him shyly turn away, he chuckled twice, nonchalantly speaking to her,
“Co here.”
Caught in the act, Ah Da felt so embarrassed she wished she could vanish into thin air. Hearing his words, her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn’t help but turn back to look at him.
He lifted his hand, palm wide, fingers long and nails neatly trimd, looking as clean as the man himself.
Their eyes t, and Ah Da didn’t refuse.
As soon as her hand touched his, suddenly a force pulled her forward, and next thing she knew, she was sitting on his lap.
Ah Da nearly dropped her phone, heart still racing.
They were, after all, dozens of ters up in the air.
“You scared .”
Qin Yu pressed his chin on top of her head, “What’s there to be afraid of? Haven’t you always claid to be very capable?”
Ah Da looked up at him with wide eyes, fixated on the movent of his Adam’s apple, “I… I was worried about you.”
Qin Yu embraced the little figure in his arms, not calling her out on her excuse, but gently reminded her, “Look outside.”
Above them were the stars in the sky, and beneath them, the whole amusent park could be seen through the night, both dreamy and dazzling.
“So beautiful…”
A twinkle reflected in Ah Da’s eyes, and she couldn’t help turning to share the view with Qin Yu, only to find that he wasn’t looking at the scenery at all. His deep, dark gaze was fixed on her, intense and serious.
