Due to inertia, Ye Ranran’s body leaned forward.
Had she not been wearing a seatbelt, she surely would have been thrown forward.
“What’s going on?” Jun Mochan’s large hand held onto Ye Ranran, yet his question was directed at the driver.
The driver seed panicked, “Another car ramd into us from behind.”
Without looking back, Jun Mochan ordered, “Get out of the car, I’ll take over.”
Moving from the back to the driver’s seat, he promptly slamd on the brakes.
The mont the car door shut, Jun Mochan stepped on the accelerator.
“Ranran, don’t be afraid,” Jun Mochan said, attempting to soothe Ye Ranran as he maneuvered the steering wheel.
Ye Ranran shook her head, “You will protect , I’m not afraid.”
Her complete trust in him both touched and guilted Jun Mochan.
If it weren’t for him, Ye Ranran wouldn’t have been drawn into this ordeal.
The car was being attacked from all sides by four other vehicles, yet Jun Mochan kept his eyes forward and continued driving straight ahead.
As the cars on his left and right moved to trap him, it seed like Jun Mochan had seen through their sche, though no one could tell how he had managed it.
Sohow, the car had managed to pull ahead of the others.
The two vehicles failed to trap them and instead collided with each other.
The two cars from behind imdiately accelerated, striking the rear of the car.
The intense swinging of the car made Ye Ranran’s face pale, but she refrained from saying a word.
The two cars that had crashed earlier managed to catch up again, bringing the total back to four.
Jun Mochan accelerated to his maximum speed.
Suddenly, a truck ca out from an intersection and Jun Mochan narrowly managed to evade it.
The two cars following were half a second too slow and crashed into the truck instead.
Ye Ranran heard the violent collision from outside the car window, yet she kept her lips sealed, not uttering a word.
“Ranran, we’re going to jump from the car soon,” Jun Mochan said, looking out the window.
“Okay,” Ye Ranran agreed without a mont’s hesitation.
Coming up to an intersection, Jun Mochan opened the car door and leapt out.
At the sa ti, Ye Ranran also tumbled out of the car, landing directly on top of Jun Mochan.
The two of them fell into so nearby shrubbery.
Before Ye Ranran could ask if Jun Mochan was okay, a loud explosion filled her ears.
Sothing had fallen into the water.
Ye Ranran stiffly turned her head, just in ti to see their car sinking into the water, where it floated for a mont before becoming motionless.
“How much longer do you intend to lay on top of ?” A teasing voice ca from above her, shaking Ye Ranran out of her state of shock.
She quickly released Jun Mochan, scrambling to her feet, “Husband, are you alright?”
Her concerned voice brought a pleased smile to Jun Mochan’s face.
Brushing off the dirt, he rose from the ground, “I’m fine.”
But this was only the appetizer.
More trouble was yet to co.
Originally, Jun Mochan had planned to escort Ye Ranran to the film set.
The final scene was being shot in a remote hotel.
Being halfway out on the road already ant they were quite secluded.
During their escape, Jun Mochan had acted as a cushion for Ye Ranran, resulting in his back getting sliced by so tal on the ground.
Gazing at his wound, Ye Ranran’s eyes filled with concern.
She wanted to touch it, yet she feared causing him more pain.
“Don’t worry, it’s just a minor wound.” He stroked her head in comfort.
Ye Ranran sniffed, “Okay, I’ll call for help right now.”
After searching around, she realized that both her phone and purse were locked in the car and now subrged in the water.
Looking at the imrsed car, Ye Ranran dismissed the idea of calling for help.
“Let tend to your wound first, and then we can leave,” she suggested, looking around their situation.
Without a phone to call for help and in such a secluded area, they had no choice but to fend for themselves.
Ye Ranran led Jun Mochan to the sheltered area under a tree, removing his shirt to fully see the injury on his back.
Lightly touching the wound, she asked, “Does it hurt much?”
