"Madam, are your words implying sothing?"
"Mr. Gu, you’re overthinking it. It’s just being prepared for contingencies, and I’m rely being considerate, not forcing anyone. If you’re unwilling, then just forget it." Ye Ranran looked helpless.
It seed like she was saying, I’m just kindly making arrangents, but whether you want to go or not is up to you. If you don’t go, she won’t force you.
Gu Heng and Mr. Gu exchanged a glance, both of them appearing contemplative.
"Did Madam hear so rumors?" Gu Heng still wanted to probe Ye Ranran.
In fact, Gu Heng wasn’t incapable, he just wasn’t as cunning as Ye Ranran, with all those twists and turns in her thinking.
"Mr. Gu, you’re overthinking it. As I said earlier, it’s just precautionary. After all, better safe than sorry. If sothing happens to the old general and people say we weren’t protective enough, causing social disharmony, that wouldn’t be good, don’t you agree?"
It’s all for the sake of social stability and harmony.
Gu Heng realized that the person in front of him was quite eloquent, and ever since that incident, she had drawn a clear line with him.
She used to call him little brother when they t, but now she acted as if they never knew each other.
Given what happened, expecting her to pretend otherwise might be too much, even for him.
"I’ve said my piece, but the choice is still up to you." Ye Ranran stood up. "Once you’ve made up your mind, let know."
She wasn’t going to sit around and think with them; she had too many things to attend to to waste ti here.
Outside the hotel, Ye Ranran dialed Jun Mochan’s number, only to find that his line was busy.
Jun Mochan was currently on the phone with Fan Rou.
"My stingy dad plans to make a move, tonight or tomorrow night. Keep an eye out," Fan Rou said in a hushed tone.
In such situations, she would usually hide in the bathroom and speak in a voice only the two of them could hear.
Just in case soone barged in and overheard sothing they shouldn’t.
Better safe than sorry; it never fails.
"I understand. You be careful too," Jun Mochan cautioned.
If sothing happened to her, Ye Ranran would surely be heartbroken.
Ye Ranran didn’t have many friends, and there was only her around. If anything were to happen, it’d be impossible not to feel sad.
"Don’t worry, I’ll be careful."
After saying this, they fell silent and hung up the phone.
Once the call ended, Jun Mochan noticed Ye Ranran had called him, and he quickly called her back.
"Which beauty were you on the phone with just now?" she teased, making it clear she wasn’t angry, just poking fun at him.
"It was indeed a beauty," Jun Mochan replied seriously.
"Oh? Are you planning to let a new beauty in?" Ye Ranran chuckled softly.
"I would, but I’m not the branch of a red apricot; I’m the wall keeping the apricot branch in. It was just soone calling to discuss sothing."
Knowing Ye Ranran trusted him, Jun Mochan still explained.
This was the part Ye Ranran liked most; whether she asked or not, he always reassured her, never giving her a chance to overthink.
"I t Fu Rong today." After a pause, Ye Ranran said.
Jun Mochan’s hand paused on the mouse: "Did you say you t who?"
"I said I t Fu Rong," Ye Ranran repeated.
