Ye Ranran felt inexplicably perplexed. She glanced at her phone and frowned when she saw that the contact was labeled “Big Brother.”
After hesitating for a mont, she decided to call back.
Huo Yi was calming his emotions when the phone in his hand suddenly started to vibrate.
Looking down at the two words that kept flashing, he couldn’t keep his heart from racing and answered without hesitation.
“Big Brother, you called earlier. Was there sothing you needed?” Ye Ranran asked politely yet with a touch of distance.
She didn’t want to call back, but she was worried about sothing happening to Huo Yi.
If sothing were to happen, she would truly feel guilty.
“Nothing much, just heard about your friend’s trouble. Need any help?” Huo Yi asked casually.
So it was about that, Ye Ranran relaxed inside: “No need.”
Jun Mochan would help her manage it, and their relationship has always been a bit awkward.
They needed to maintain distance when nothing was wrong. It would be troubleso to cause any misunderstandings.
“Alright, if you need anything, just say so. I’m your big brother,” Huo Yi said.
He especially emphasized the latter part, as if worried she would misunderstand.
“Hmm, I understand. If I need anything, I’ll speak up.” Ye Ranran’s voice softened slightly.
Perhaps because of the words “big brother,” she thought of Wen Li.
Just his na alone made her feel warm. Regardless of whether he saw her as a sister, she truly considered him as an older brother.
“By the way, Mom’s always thinking of you. Co back to visit her when you have ti,” Huo Yi suddenly said.
Really? Ye Ranran recalled Jun Mochan’s words. Given Mother Huo’s deanor, she didn’t seem to like her.
But Ye Ranran didn’t mind, knowing that historically, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law tensions are quite normal.
“I understand. I’ll visit when I have ti.”
There was nothing else left to say between them. Ye Ranran was about to end the call when Huo Yi unexpectedly asked, “What are you doing now?”
This question seed a bit trivial, typically a way to fill the silence. Ye Ranran frowned, a hint of displeasure showing but she still replied: “Reading a magazine.”
“Have you returned to your studio to work recently?” He really wanted to ask if she was thinking about the past, but didn’t dare to.
Despite being fearless in other matters, when it ca to such things, he was a coward. Who would believe?
“Yes, I have,” Ye Ranran’s voice turned sowhat cold, appropriately signaling her lack of interest in continuing the conversation.
Unexpectedly, Huo Yi seemingly didn’t pick up on it and asked, “If you have ti, I’d like to order a suit from you. Is that alright?”
Since he asked so directly, would saying no make her seem impolite?
Especially considering they were family, she couldn’t very well refuse.
“Sure, Big Brother, send your asurents and requirents, and I can make one for you.”
“I’ll find ti to visit you,” Huo Yi felt a little shaless, but he just wanted to stop by, not intending to do anything.
“Alright, let know when you’re free, and I’ll make ti,”
As she said this, Jun Mochan entered from outside, and Ye Ranran told Huo Yi, “It’s late. I need to sleep. You should rest early too, Big Brother.”
“Big Brother called?” Jun Mochan asked with a hint of jealousy, though he hid it well, Ye Ranran still noticed it.
