Chapter 1469: Chapter 1392: A Courteous Rivalry

Being late is bad, but making soone wait for a long ti is worse.

“Tell the eting location, I’ll head there right now.”

“No need. It’s been rescheduled to tomorrow. Co back imdiately.” When she didn’t show up by 7:30, he had already canceled the eting.

Upon hearing this, Ye Ranran directly hung up Fu Rong’s call.

When she returned, he still hadn’t left. His face looked as though it had been frozen over, exuding an unbearable coldness.

“Where were you?”

“I went on a date.” Ye Ranran stood to his side, her face slightly turned as she looked at him.

With a single sentence, complicated and indecipherable emotions flickered in Fu Rong’s deep, unreadable eyes.

“You went to see Jun Mochan again, didn’t you? Haven’t I told you to limit contact with him, to et him less often?”

“And I’ve asked you before—what position do you have to question about this? If it’s as a superior, then I can tell you clearly that I know my boundaries. If it’s not, then do you have anything to do with ? Could you shut up, please?”

A shadow darkened Fu Rong’s face, and faint sharp edges of light flashed in his eyes: “There’s an eighty to ninety percent chance that he’s behind all this. If the Security Bureau uncovers the truth and finds out you’ve been in close contact with him, what will you do then?”

“Then we’ll talk when the investigation yields results.”

“The eting has been rescheduled to tomorrow night at eight. Be at work as usual in the morning. Don’t be late.” Fu Rong said no more.

Watching his retreating figure, Ye Ranran slowly lowered her head. All along, he had never been willing to offer her a commitnt. What was left for her to hope for?

And even commitnts could be broken. He wasn’t even willing to fake a promise to her. If she still couldn’t let this go, she’d truly be foolish beyond belief.

After stepping out of the Wen Family residence, Fu Rong imdiately contacted Jun Mochan, and the two arranged to et at a hotel’s café.

Fu Rong had just sat down when Jun Mochan entered from the doorway.

He wore a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up. His elegant features seed to shimr under the light, carrying an air of calm warmth in his brows. He looked like a prince stepping out from the pages of the Middle Ages.

Fu Rong’s deanor was entirely different—his sharp, angular features, alluring eyes like deep pools impossible to gauge, thin lips, and a brow that seed perpetually cloaked in icy snow.

Cool and distant as the moon, aloof as a celestial being.

Looking at Fu Rong, a strange light flickered in Jun Mochan’s eyes.

“Jun Mochan, what exactly are you trying to do?” Fu Rong cut straight to the point, unwilling to waste even a single word.

Speaking with smart people had never required beating around the bush.

“Whatever you’re trying to do, I’m trying to do the sa.” Jun Mochan’s gaze remained distant and gentle, his tone calm without a trace of turbulence.

“How do you know what I want to do?” Fu Rong’s eyes were as deep as a tunnel stretching endlessly into the dark, flickering with indescribable emotions.

Jun Mochan picked up the teapot on the table and poured himself a cup of tea: “What’s the point in going in circles? I only want Wen Cai.”

“Why don’t you tell her directly? See if she’s willing to leave with you.” Fu Rong’s brows tightened slightly, his pupils sharp and cold, radiating an intimidating light.

Jun Mochan laughed, his lips curling with derision. Under the light, his refined features appeared intoxicatingly handso: “So, what exactly are you here to tell this ti?”

“I’m here to tell you to leave F country imdiately. Otherwise, if you’re forcibly expelled, it won’t be a pretty sight.”

“Is that so? From childhood till now, I’ve never experienced the feeling of being expelled. Right now, I’d like to try it.” Jun Mochan smiled faintly, his tone gentle yet his words stung sharply.
