"You’ve already checked, haven’t you?" Ye Ranran gave him a knowing look.
Jun Mochan forced a wry smile: "I swear, I really didn’t check. I deduced it based on what I’ve heard before, of course, with a mix of wild guesses."
"Then you’ve really guessed quite accurately." Ye Ranran lifted her lips slightly: "Tang Sheng, oh, my attending physician, said there’s so kind of virus in my body, which is why I can’t drink alcohol, but I’m getting better."
Jun Mochan felt a surge of joy inside, but he still suppressed it, making his voice sound strange: "Virus?"
"Why does it sound like you’re happy about it? Weird. Why am I even telling you these things?" Ye Ranran shook her head.
Fu Rong turned his head and saw Ye Ranran chatting happily with Jun Mochan, his eyes shrouded in a thick layer of ice.
Sensing that intense gaze, Ye Ranran looked over.
He was signaling her to co over, and with many years of tacit understanding, she imdiately grasped the aning in his eyes.
If it had been before, she would have happily walked over, but today she didn’t want to.
She didn’t know with what identity and what expression she should go over.
When she was young, she had the heart and passion to chase after the so-called love; as she grew older, what she wanted was stability.
Even if it was ordinary, even if it was mundane, but the other person had to explicitly tell her that he liked her, that he wanted to spend his life with her.
Always guessing was just too exhausting.
She turned around and walked away.
If he already has a companion, why bother to entangle with her? Did he still want her to be delusional like before, thinking that if she clung on a bit tighter, he wouldn’t get snatched away by soone else?
Jun Mochan imdiately followed her.
"I want so peace alone; don’t follow ," Ye Ranran said irritably to the person behind.
So Jun Mochan fell back a bit more, yet he did not leave.
Fu Rong quickly caught up, but he was ultimately just a step too slow.
He just watched as two cars drove away from him, one after the other.
He took out his phone and dialed Ye Ranran’s number.
Seeing the incoming call, Ye Ranran decisively hung up and then turned off her phone.
She wandered aimlessly around the city and eventually parked her car by the lake, finding a random chair to sit down on.
In the darkness of the night, human vision is limited; only the water near the shore can be seen slapping against the bank, making a splashing sound.
Jun Mochan stood behind her, quietly keeping her company.
When an hour had passed and she was still sitting motionless, he finally couldn’t help but take off his coat and drape it over her: "Don’t catch a cold."
She looked up and saw it was him, disappointnt clear in her eyes.
Seeing her expression, Jun Mochan tugged at his lips: "What, disappointed that it’s not him?"
"No." Ye Ranran’s gaze returned to the lake: "Why did you co?"
"It was stuffy inside, so I ca out to clear my head alongside you."
Stuffy, huh? Maybe so.
"You like him that much?"
"Maybe. My eyes have always been on him." Liking Fu Rong has beco her instinct.
As natural as blood flowing in her body, without liking him, she would lose her direction in the pursuit.
"But he doesn’t like you. He’s been dating that woman for a year; he’s planning to get engaged to her."
Ye Ranran’s eyes widened, filled with disbelief.
"What do you plan to do?"
What to do? What can she do?
"Why are you telling all this?"
"I find you quite agreeable, I just don’t want you to be kept in the dark, that’s all. Of course, if you don’t want to face the truth, you can pretend you never heard any of this."
