Chapter 1261: Chapter 1184: Inexplicable
“Do you think I’m being too much?” she asked, like a lost child.
“Not at all,” he comforted her. “She’s the mistress, and you’re his wife. What’s wrong with a wife confronting the mistress? Nothing at all.”
She didn’t reply, and he wasn’t sure if she took in what he had said.
“Perhaps he has his own struggles,” Shen Yuzhe didn’t pry further into their affairs.
He was just a family doctor, committed to his patient’s welfare; doing his job was what mattered.
As for everything else, it wasn’t his place to interfere.
“I believe, and I know, that he loves ,” she wasn’t foolish. She could feel it, so there was no need for him to say more.
“So, what’s happening between you two then?”
“What if one day you got a girlfriend, and you saw her with soone who liked her, and when you went to pull her away, she yelled at you? How would you feel?”
How would he feel? A natural breakup, of course. He wouldn’t dean himself; she had gone that far, what else could he do or think?
“If she doesn’t like , I wouldn’t cling on,” Shen Yuzhe frowned.
“But what if she claid she liked you, loved you, and that she had to be with that person because of so unavoidable circumstances?”
“What kind of bullshit excuse is that? Liking is a reason to insult ?” Shen Yuzhe was agitated.
Shen Yuzhe suddenly realized sothing, and stopped, staring at Ye Ranran in astonishnt.
Ye Ranran had cald down, hugging her knees, her head resting on them, curled into a tiny ball, “Actually, I know he has his reasons. There must be why he’s doing this, and I’m willing to trust him. But it’s so hard. Do you understand?”
Her eyes were wide open, empty, with a hazy gray, storm clouds overhead, yet not a single tear fell.
“I know, I understand everything.”
“He shouldn’t treat like that, how could he?” Ye Ranran murmured to herself.
“I know you feel wronged. If you want to cry, just let it out.” Don’t hold back.
“Cry? What’s there to cry about?” What good would crying do? No one would sympathize with her.
When crying couldn’t earn her the candy she wanted, she learned to hold back her tears.
A woman’s tears are precious and shouldn’t be wasted, it’s deaning.
“If you’re feeling upset, I’ll turn away. You cry, and I’ll pretend I didn’t see, pretend I don’t know,” Shen Yuzhe turned his back.
Ye Ranran sat quietly, still not shedding a tear.
Even as she fell back into a deep sleep, not a single tear dropped.
Shen Yuzhe covered her with a blanket and stepped out of the room.
“Did you hear that?”
Jun Mochan nodded, looking towards the room, “Is she asleep?”
“Yes, she’s asleep, but she’s very sad. Are you really not willing to explain things to her?” It was evident that she truly believed in him and would forgive him if he only gave her a reason.
“Now is not the right ti.”
He wanted to explain, he felt the pain too, but if she knew the truth, it might be even harder to accept.
Whether she felt aggrieved or upset, it was better than her falling apart.
Seeing the struggle and pain in his eyes, Shen Yuzhe felt a pang of heartache and patted him on the shoulder.
After that, Ye Ranran never saw Jun Mochan again, but she knew he was always there by her side. Occasionally, when she slept, she could feel the intense gaze upon her.
She didn’t understand what this counted for, nor could she comprehend why things had turned out this way between them.
Lately, Shen Yuzhe had started to have her test various dications. So she took without any effect, others intensified her pain.
