Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Divine Skills Mask Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Divine Skills Mask Editor: Larbre Studio Chu You was piloting his glider, cutting through an ominously gloomy air current in mid-air before diving directly into a pitch-black pit.
The elite monsters on the ground were helpless. Chu You was too high up for them to reach, their attacks couldn’t touch him. All they could do was to keep staring at him, darkly.
So of the boss-level creatures were not indifferent. They kept Chu You in their sights while mirroring his movents, waiting for him to co within their attack range so they could rcilessly swat the ant-like figure out of the sky.
As Chu You got closer to the pit, all the elite monsters stalking on the ground halted. As Chu You flew into the pit, disappearing from sight, they watched on still.
The glider was pretty fast – Chu You plunged straight into the pit. The mont darkness swallowed him, he pulled out a candle from his backpack.
The fla tilted in the gusty wind, threatening to extinguish anyti. Yet Chu You wasn’t worried. Thanks to the candlelight, he could roughly see his surroundings.
He was in an underground cave. The winding paths were unsuitable for gliding. Chu You cancelled the flight in mid-air. The glider suddenly transford into a parachute with a ‘popping’ sound. Balanced in this darkness, Chu You slowly descended, a candle in his hand. He was like a beacon of light.
Soon, Chu You landed. He knew where he was. In blunt terms, this was a massive demon tomb.
At the sa ti, countless treasures were believed to be hidden here. In his past life, players had nicknad this place – the Land of Slaughter.
It wasn’t because the monsters here were terrifying. They were just level 30 monsters. But even level 60 players would not dare to run amuck here. The Land of Slaughter wasn’t just a title given for fun, it held a massive treasure!
Chu You’s destination this ti was not the treasure, but a small Divine Vestige.
He felt like he was stepping on pebbles, a bit spongy underfoot.
Carrying his halberd, he plunged deeper into the cave, candle in hand. Strangely, he saw no elite monsters or guardians.
“Boss, there’s a movent on the level rankings. Many job-advanced players have appeared, all from North Arica.” The Killing Commander transmitted a ssage at this mont.
Chu You seed unperturbed, checking the ga ti with a glance. As expected, they were arriving.
In his past life, the North Arican ROD Guild had a few job-advanced players appearing around the sa ti.
At that ti, it indeed created a sensation. It turned out that the North Arican server had a series of tasks that allowed gold coins to be exchanged for experience. Given the strength of the ROD Guild, it was only natural that this would occur.
However, when Chu You paused to open the level ranking board, he was stunned by surprise.
The leaderboard displayed over 40 job-advanced players, an occurrence that was impossible in his previous life. Chu You rembered that there had only been six job-advanced players at the ti. What was happening?
Chu You quickly realized – the Red Queen’s mainfra had awakened slightly later than expected. He hadn’t predicted that such a minor delay would have such a significant impact on the ga!
The irony was that Chu You had overlooked his own impact. His existence was changing the course of the ga in its entirety.
“No problem, inform as soon as their guild appears!” Looks like they’re planning to create guilds earlier than expected.
“Understood, boss.”
Chu You imdiately proceeded. Not long after, the sound of flowing water reached his ears.
Chu You had reached the end – there seed to be a large rocky mountain. To the side, a river flowed underground.
Commonly known as the Underworld River, Chu You stared at the black river surface knowing that its calm surface hid dangerous undercurrents. A player would be swept away imdiately upon entering it.
But… There was nothing to worry about because at the end of this river was where the treasure was. The water would automatically carry any player there as long as the player wasn’t killed by a monster in the water.
Just as Chu You was about to transform, from the corner of his eye, he caught sight of sothing dark sitting by the riverbank.
Chu You walked over with a candle. A dilapidated wooden boat was floating there.
Huh? Why wasn’t this ntioned in his past life? Chu You was taken aback.
But soon, Chu You gently set his foot on the boat. And then a system notification rang.
System: Would you like to board the ‘Ferry of Souls’? The Ferry of Souls can help players safely cross the Underworld River. Boarding fee is 100 Gold Coins, would you like to board?
Is it possible?? Chu You was ecstatic. He imdiately spent 100 Gold Coins and boarded the boat.
After Chu You had paid 100 Gold Coins, a white candle lit up at the front of the boat. The boat started to sway, leaving the bank to sail into the pitch-black river surface.
Going downstream all the way, Chu You looked indifferently at the elite beasts appearing in the river alongside the boat. These elite beasts were aquatic creatures, which could only attack players who were in the water. They could not co ashore.
Before long, Chu You saw a faint green glow spreading from the entwined rocks on both shores not far from him.
Upon seeing this material, Chu You squinted slightly, realizing its value. This was because it was called a Spirit Stone!
Not only is a Spirit Stone an upgrade material for equipnt, it is also an advanced material for crafters. But its greatest value lies in its inherent attributes.
Spirit Stone: A player who absorbs 50 Spirit Stones can have their attack power 2, hit rate 1, critical hit 0.2, which is permanent and infinitely stackable. For magic-based classes, this translates into magic attack power, magic hit rate, and magic critical hit.
This is really a fantastic treasure. The reason why this place was known as the Land of Slaughter in the past life was because of the enormous utility it contained!
As long as a player has a mining tool, they can mine here and embark on a road to wealth.
This is a vast Spirit Stone mine; in the previous life, players mined here for a full two years before the mine was depleted.
Generally, this place is monopolized by several big guilds who will kill any outsiders they catch.
Without pausing for a mont, Chu You continued to drift deeper along the river on the wooden boat. Soon, he saw a tunnel with the shape of a ghost tooth carved out of the darkness in front of him. That place, was no man’s land for players. To go there ant instant death, regardless of level.
As his eyes remained calm, he drew the wooden boat towards the shore and disembarked. Looking up, he saw a small platform with a candle emitting a faint light. Beside it was a stone door.
This was the place…
Chu You imdiately approached it. When he reached the stone door, he put away his candle and picked up the candle on the small platform. It was emitting a faint, chilling green light.
When Chu You had done this, the stone door suddenly opened.
A savage light flashed in Chu You’s eyes, and he imdiately activated the One-Star Body Transformation of the War God skill.
His physique expanded instantly, Chu You’s human form vanished and was replaced by a terrifying humanoid figure called the Ancient God!
After transforming, Chu You imdiately hunched over and rushed into the stone gate.
The inside was a high-level ancient underground palace, said to be the burial place of an empress.
-500, Chu You’s health was invisibly reduced by 500 points.
System: You are under the Power of Suppression, please leave imdiately.
A negative effect had appeared on Chu You, with 500 points of health decreasing every 10 seconds.
In the dark, Chu You’s pupilless eyes emitted a faint red light. Paired with the chilling green candle in his hand, it looked particularly terrifying.
Following his mories, Chu You made his way to the deepest part of the underground palace, the place where the master of the tomb was located.
His health was constantly decreasing, however, thanks to the transformation, Chu You had more than 54000 points of health, which he could still afford to expend.
Arriving there, he saw seven giant caskets arranged in a petal shape.
Chu You was fully aware that he had to be extrely careful at this ti. If he opened the wrong casket, the master of the palace would awake!
Out of these seven caskets, only one actually contained a treasure; the other six all contained the body of the empress.
His eyes sternly fixed on the seven caskets, mories in his mind continued to overlap with the scenes before his eyes, hoping to recognize the true casket.
Chu You stood still here for what seed to be a long while, not because he was reluctant to open the casket, but he was hesitating as his mory was sowhat obscure when it ca to discerning the real from the fake casket.
The mory was too distant, sowhat blurred. But he could not procrastinate like this any longer. Chu You steeled himself and opened one of the two caskets that could be the real one.
The sound of friction was particularly abrupt when the casket was fully opened. At this mont, Chu You felt so mist emanating from inside.
But at this very mont, the chilling green candle in Chu You’s hand went out…
Unperturbed, Chu You imdiately popped his head in and saw a beautifully decorated mask quietly resting on a dark red embroidered pillow in the large coffin, which was empty.
The mask seed to sense that it had been discovered by the player, and at this mont, it actually glittered like a treasure.
