Remo parked his car a few blocks away from Nicole’s apartnt, the evening shadows cloaking his sleek vehicle. He took a mont to collect himself before stepping out into the night, his footsteps echoing softly against the pavent. Despite the unease he felt, his expression remained stoic. He had to get to the bottom of Nicole’s sudden reappearance and her interest in Abby.

As he reached Nicole’s door, he took a deep breath and knocked, the sound reverberating through the hallway. It only took a few monts for the door to open, revealing Nicole dressed in a slinky black dress that left little to the imagination. Her eyes lit up with a mix of surprise and pleasure at the sight of him.

"Remo," she purred, leaning against the doorfra. "What a pleasant surprise."

Remo didn’t return her smile. "Nicole. We need to talk."

"Co in," she said, stepping aside to let him enter. The apartnt was tastefully decorated, but Remo’s mind was focused on the task at hand. Nicole closed the door behind him and moved closer, her hand brushing against his arm. "Can I get you a drink?"

"No," Remo replied coldly, shrugging off her touch. "I’m not here for pleasantries. I want to know what you’re up to."

Nicole’s eyes sparkled with mischief. "Up to? Can’t a woman reconnect with an old friend without having an ulterior motive?"

"We were never friends," Remo said flatly. "And you know it. Why are you so interested in Abby?"

Nicole laughed softly, a seductive sound that made Remo’s skin crawl. "Always straight to the point, aren’t you? Well, since you’re here, why don’t we catch up? We had sothing special once, didn’t we?"

She moved closer, pressing her body against his, her hands running up his chest. Remo’s jaw tightened, and he grabbed her wrists, pushing her away firmly but not harshly. "Don’t," he warned, his voice low and dangerous. "I’m not interested."

Nicole’s eyes widened in surprise before narrowing with a hint of anger. "You’ve changed, Remo. You used to be fun."

"This isn’t about fun," he said icily. "What do you want, Nicole?"

Her lips curved into a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. "Isn’t it obvious? I want you."

Remo’s expression darkened, and he took a step back, creating distance between them. "Whatever ga you’re playing, it ends now. Stay away from Abby."

Nicole’s laugh was harsh and mocking. "Protective, aren’t we? It’s cute."

Remo’s patience was wearing thin. "This is your final warning, Nicole. Leave Abby alone."

As he turned to leave, Nicole’s voice stopped him in his tracks. "Aren’t you curious about the interesting secret I’ve discovered about your wife?"

Remo paused, his back still to her. His mind raced, but he forced himself to remain calm. "What are you talking about?"

Nicole sauntered over, her heels clicking on the wooden floor. She leaned in close, her breath warm against his ear. "I’ve done so digging, Remo. And what I found might just change everything you think you know about dear Abby."

Remo’s hands clenched into fists, but he kept his voice steady. "Spit it out."

Nicole smirked, clearly enjoying the mont. "Not so fast. If you want to know, you’ll have to play along. Let’s have a little chat, and then I’ll tell you what I know."

Remo turned to face her, his eyes cold and hard. "You have five minutes."

"Feisty," she teased, walking over to the couch and sitting down, crossing her legs elegantly. "Alright, I’ll play nice. But first, let ask you sothing. Have you ever wondered why Abby is so secretive about her past?"

Remo’s silence was answer enough, and Nicole’s smile widened. "Of course you have. You must have noticed the little things that don’t add up. The stories that don’t quite match."

"Get to the point," Remo growled.

Nicole leaned back, her eyes glittering with amusent. "Alright. I found so interesting docunts. Records, to be precise, about a certain incident involving Abby and a hospital stay. It seems our sweet little Abby has a darker side."

Remo’s mind was racing. He knew Abby had secrets, but he had respected her privacy, trusting that she would share when she was ready. Now, his protective instincts were on high alert.

Nicole seed to sense his turmoil and reveled in it. "Imagine my surprise when I found out that Abby was admitted to a psychiatric hospital. And not just any patient, mind you. She was involved in a grueso incident. She killed her inmate in cold blood."

Remo’s eyes narrowed. "You’re lying."

"Oh, I have the proof," Nicole said, reaching for her phone. She tapped a few buttons and then handed it to Remo. On the screen were scanned docunts and photos, detailing Abby’s ti in the hospital and the incident with her inmate.

Remo stared at the screen, his emotions a whirlwind of confusion, anger, and concern. He looked up at Nicole, his expression unreadable. "Why are you showing this?"

Nicole’s smile was triumphant. "Because I want you to see the real Abby. The woman you’re so desperate to protect. She’s not the innocent damsel you think she is."

Remo handed the phone back to her, his jaw clenched. "I don’t care what you’ve found. Abby is my wife, and I trust her. Stay away from her, Nicole. This is your final warning."

Nicole’s smile faltered for a mont, but she quickly recovered. "Such loyalty. It’s almost touching. But rember, Remo, secrets have a way of coming out. And when they do, I hope you’re ready for the fallout."

Without another word, Remo turned and walked out of the apartnt, his mind a storm of conflicting emotions. He had to get to the bottom of this, but he would do it his way. No matter what secrets Abby had, he would stand by her. They had faced too much together to let anyone co between them now.

As Remo drove back ho, his mind raced with conflicting thoughts and emotions. He couldn’t believe what Nicole had shown him, but the evidence seed undeniable. Abby, his strong and determined wife, had a past shrouded in darkness that he hadn’t fully understood. He had to talk to her, but he needed to approach the subject delicately.

He parked the car in their driveway and took a deep breath before stepping out. The house was quiet, with only the soft hum of the air conditioner breaking the silence. He found Abby in the living room, curled up on the couch with a book. She looked up as he entered, a warm smile spreading across her face.

"Hey," she greeted him, closing the book and setting it aside. "How did it go?"

Remo hesitated for a mont, studying her face. "We need to talk, Abby."
