Maya Monroe pulled out the check-up slip from the day before yesterday, fortunately, she had brought it back easily.

"Here, take a look. This check-up slip is sothing I definitely can’t fake."

Ian Rowe carefully looked through it, not missing a single detail on it.

After a while, he seed to breathe a sigh of relief: "Just rest well at ho these next couple of days, let Aunty Wang know if you need anything, and she’ll take care of it all for you."

Maya’s eyes lit up: "Does that an I can have hot pot and roast duck?"

Ian paused, and when his gaze t her eager and expectant eyes, he couldn’t refuse.

Letting her be happy was the most important thing after all.

"You’ll still need to eat balanced als though."

Maya’s eyebrows curved up, and she urged him: "How long do you plan to stay all wet like this? Husband, you better hurry and take a hot shower, so you don’t catch a cold."

"I don’t have anything to take care of. I’ll go once you’ve finished the ginger tea."

Maya rembered that Ian had said the sa thing before Dr. Zhang arrived, and she had to admit his sense of principle was indeed strong, as he still rembered it.

Her fingers gripped the blanket: "But the ginger tea is already cold, I don’t want to drink it cold, nor do I want to drink it reheated."

"Then make a fresh batch."

"I... I don’t think I need to drink this at all. Didn’t Dr. Zhang just say it? There’s nothing wrong with my health, so whether I drink the ginger tea or not doesn’t make much of a difference."

Maya’s resistance was indeed strong, so Ian finally agreed: "Then don’t drink it."

Maya was stunned, then nodded vigorously.

Ian was almost amused by her; he tucked the blanket around her then got up: "Stay put and don’t lift the blanket."

The mont he turned around, Maya saw that Ian’s back was all wet.

Maya looked away, squinting her eyes slightly.

As if she rembered sothing, Maya quickly checked the drama’s excitent level.

Just as she expected, it seed not only did her career progress increase the value, but interactions with Ian did too.

And it was increasing quite rapidly.

Maya lowered her eyes and thought for a mont.

When it ca to increasing the value, Ian’s help was genuinely significant.

Before long, Ian ca back with a fresh set of dry clothes, and his hair was completely dry as well.

As he approached, Maya could sll the fresh scent of his body wash, resembling a certain flower’s roots, a stable and refreshing woody fragrance.

"Husband, aren’t you busy with work?"

Maya lifted her eyes to glance at him.

"There’s nothing important."

"I see."

Maya responded and then returned her gaze to the large screen.

On set, she was constantly busy, even when she occasionally appeared on variety shows and comrcials, she wasn’t idle.

Just one "Great Survival Challenge" nearly wore her out.

She had plenty of free ti, but really relaxing monts were rare.

Maya relaxed her body and enjoyed this rare break.

"There was sothing I didn’t get a chance to ask you."

Maya turned to look at Ian.

Now that it was confird her health was fine, Ian would surely ask about what happened before.

"What exactly happened yesterday? Director Huang was vague in her explanation, I guess she didn’t fully understand either. So, what happened yesterday? Did you encounter any danger?"

"Yesterday has passed, and I wasn’t hurt."

"I know, but you must understand... the only way to completely root out danger is by eliminating its source, otherwise, the danger will be endless."

In the last mont, a cold glint appeared in his eyes.

Maya knew that yesterday’s incident wasn’t targeted at her, but Ian didn’t understand, and unless she explained it to him, he wouldn’t be at ease.

She didn’t want to admit it, but she really did feel his concern for her.

Being cared for felt strange, but the mont his eyes only saw her, Maya had to admit that it felt quite nice.

"I was actually afraid you’d be worried if you knew about it. Yesterday, I went out with Serena Sawyer, and in the underground parking lot, we encountered four thugs who had plotted beforehand. I believe their intention was either kidnap or threaten. We called the police and were ultimately rescued. That’s basically what happened, I could feel they weren’t targeting , so you don’t need to worry."

Maya chose to omit the part about her struggles with the thugs.

Ian remained silent for a long ti.

Maya couldn’t help but glance in his direction.

Her intention was to ease his mind, but it seed to have the opposite effect, as Ian didn’t look calm at all.

He slightly turned his head, making it difficult for Maya to see his expression; she could only see the veins protruding on his clenched hand.

His voice was cold and devoid of warmth, wrapped in frost, more chilling than she’d ever heard before: "I understand."

He turned to look at Maya, becoming focused in an instant, trying hard to restrain his rage: "Those four people, I’ll make sure they’re dealt with for you."

Maya could only obediently nod.

Ian ruffled Maya’s soft hair briefly.

"I have so errands to run; you go ahead and continue watching your drama."

Maya woke up as usual, after all, she was at ho and could do as she pleased.

Seeing Maya co downstairs, Aunty Wang was startled and hurriedly ca over: "Ma’am, why did you co downstairs? If you don’t feel well, you should stay in bed. Sir said not to disturb your sleep; I was planning to bring your al up once you woke up."

"I’m fine, Aunty Wang, my health is great, you really don’t need to bother bringing food to ."

Seeing that Maya was steady on her feet, with no signs of weakness as she claid, Aunty Wang finally felt at ease.

"Today’s dishes are all your favorites."

Maya beca even more impatient.

Having nothing much to do at ho, Maya either watched dramas or slept.

Suddenly, Serena Sawyer’s call ca through, and Maya answered.

"Serena."

"Maya, I went to the set today to see you, only to find out you had already returned ho. How are you feeling?"

"I forgot to tell you, that was my oversight. Don’t worry, Serena, I’m doing well now."

"Good... And one more thing, I’ve found out who was behind those four thugs. Believe it or not, we have Ian Rowe to thank, he made a move, and the mastermind was directly exposed by those four people. I just don’t understand why Ian did this unless they also provoked him?"

Maya asked, "Who was the mastermind?"

"Chloe Winters, you probably don’t know her. But I never expected it to be her, we actually had a decent relationship. I can’t understand why she’d target like this."

"What happened to that Chloe Winters now?"

Serena paused, then her voice carried a hint of amusent: "She got what she deserved."
