Kiki, dressed in a pure white dress, looked even more slender and captivating.

Maya looked at her bare, fair legs, but another thought popped into her mind: Isn’t she cold wearing so little?

Kiki walked over slowly and leaned in close to Maya, lowering her voice: "You didn’t expect to co, did you? You must be feeling quite smug now, Maya? Yvonne Hall thinks so highly of you, she’s practically saying you’re the one she wants!"

She snorted coldly, no longer pretending as before: "Who do you think you are? Do you really think this ans you can bag the role? Let tell you, that’s wishful thinking. Now that I’m here, you definitely won’t get the role so easily!!"

Maya glanced at her, trying to make her expression as annoying as possible: "Anyone can talk big. I could say this role is ant for too! If you’re so capable, then go ahead and get it. Look at yourself before making grand claims!"

Her brow arched, she snorted dismissively, a hint of malice in her eyes: "I bet you lack real skills, that’s why you have to talk big just to prove your presence here, right?"

"You!!" Kiki pointed her finger at her: "You..."

Suddenly, a slight pain ca from her finger. Maya was using her finger to push Kiki’s finger down hard, and Kiki could only feel an indescribable pain. She reached out with her other hand to grab Maya’s hand.

"Maya! Let go!!"

Maya leisurely withdrew her finger and laughed softly next to Kiki’s ear: "Be careful next ti. I don’t like people pointing their fingers at ..."

After saying this, she cast a cool glance at Kiki and then walked away.

"Maya! Just you wait!!"

Ryan Spencer watched the scene play out nearby: "It seems your sister is less and less willing to act weak. Did you see the look in her eyes? As if she wanted to tear you apart..."

Maya shot him a glance: "Why do you sound so smug about my artist getting into a spat with others? Is that your reaction?"

"A spat?" Ryan chuckled lightly: "What’s wrong with a spat? Competition can ignite your desire to win. Just now you were all deflated, but as soon as you t Kiki, you were instantly fired up. Maya, you have to admit, Kiki can motivate you to improve."

Maya snorted softly, saying nothing.

Led by the staff, Maya arrived at the waiting hall for auditions, accompanied only by Ryan and Scott.

The staff guided them to a noticeably spacious and quiet spot.

Maya instinctively looked around. The wide hall was almost packed, and the aisles were completely blocked. The scene was no less lively than the "Wandering Beyond the Horizon" audition site.

Thinking back, it seed the staff had taken them via a side path.

The staff gave a slight bow: "Ms. Maya, Director Yvonne asked to tell you she’s currently busy with interviews and couldn’t co over, but she’s very much looking forward to your performance."

There were quite a few staff around, and Maya, with her sharp eyes, noticed that this staff mber wore a slightly more formal uniform than the others.

"Thank you."

"It’s my duty. If you need anything, please feel free to ask. I’ll take my leave now." She gave another bow as she spoke.

Ryan’s face showed deep thought. If it were before knowing about Maya’s "boss lady" identity, he would’ve been puzzled by Yvonne’s evident "courtesy." But now, he understood completely.

Scott was carrying a huge backpack and, almost as soon as he found a seat, began pulling out things from it: a folding table, candied fruit, beef jerky, candies, and a large bag of snacks...

Ryan watched Scott skillfully arrange everything, finally pulling out two portable bottles of fruit juice.

Ryan’s face turned dark: "Who asked you to prepare all this?"

"Well..." Scott hesitated, didn’t speak, but his dodging eyes glanced continuously toward Maya, giving away the answer.

Ryan’s gaze shifted to Maya: "Anyone might think you’re here on vacation."

Maya inexplicably felt Ryan’s words sounded familiar. Nonchalantly, she lifted a bottle of juice, gesturing toward Ryan as if to clink glasses: "Want a drink?"

If Ryan didn’t know it was juice, he would almost think she was tipsy.

With her chin raised, the corners of her mouth lifting into a smile, she had a touch of casualness about her. Ryan paused for a second, seemingly giving up: "I can’t control you, have it yourself."

Maya chuckled, then looked at Scott: "Isn’t there a platter of fruit you haven’t set out? Continue unloading!"

Scott could only continue under Ryan’s near-killing stare: "...Okay."

Holding a strawberry in her hand, Maya absentmindedly scanned the room.

Among the crowd were so familiar faces. Even for soone like Maya, who rarely follows drama, so actors in the mix looked sowhat recognizable. It seed the opponents Kiki would face this ti were formidable.

Perhaps due to Maya’s increasing fa, shortly after sitting down, a number of people ca to greet her.

Looking at their nearly identical faces, Maya found no related impressions in her mory.

Not far away, Kiki was sociably chatting and mingling with others, but Maya had no such interest.

Those people standing there seriously obstructed her view.

Impatiently, Maya tore the leaf off the strawberry and said to Scott beside her: "Get them to leave. They’re blocking my view of others."

Scott looked at Ryan, and upon receiving his nod, he quickly went into action.

Ryan quietly watched her eat strawberries: "Maya, why don’t you want to chat with others? Don’t you notice that many here are chatting in groups of twos and threes?"

Maya snickered, unconcerned: "Everyone here is vying for the lead female role. Do you think mingling really leads to heart-to-heart friendships?"

Ryan chuckled, acknowledging: "That’s true enough."

"Ms. Maya!"

Suddenly, a young man’s clear voice rang out, and Maya looked up to see Julian Caldwell approaching with a smile in his eyes.

Maya’s fingers paused.

She rembered the audition was divided by area, and this venue was for actresses auditioning for the lead female role. So how did Julian get here, or rather... what was he here for?
