"You..."
Ethan Grant was probably so infuriated by Maya Monroe that he couldn’t get more than a word out for a while.
"What do you an ’you’? If you keep babbling, I’ll kick you out of the crew!"
Anyone aware of Maya Monroe’s heroic deeds wouldn’t think she was joking.
Suddenly, Ethan Grant’s assistant ran to his side: "Ethan, why did you co here alone? The assistant director has so arrangents for you, hurry over and check it out!"
The assistant leaned closer to Ethan Grant and whispered in his ear: "Maya Monroe isn’t soone you want to ss with. Let’s just leave it at that."
Ethan Grant’s eyes darted around, and facing Maya Monroe’s still coldly smiling face, he suddenly deflated like a punctured balloon.
His impression of Maya Monroe deepened in that mont. She was unlike any other entertainer he had encountered; she was always making a fuss, and when she did, she was crazier than anyone else.
The heated urge to play the hero cooled off a bit.
"Is that so?" Ethan Grant looked at Kiki next to him and paused: "Kiki, I’d better just take you directly to find the stage coordinator. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely resolve this for you!"
Seeing him instantly back down, Kiki felt a bit of disdain for him in her heart.
No matter what, he’s chickened out at this mont...
When Kiki looked at him again, she was no longer fooled by his fair, handso face: "If you have sothing to do, just go ahead. I can handle these things on my own; I’ll find my assistant..."
"Kiki, please don’t just push away like this..." Ethan Grant grabbed Kiki’s hand, intending to hold her back.
Maya Monroe had already slipped back into her trailer.
Tomorrow was the first day of shooting, and Maya Monroe chatted with Shane Morgan for a while.
Shane Morgan was very warm towards her and said quite a bit: "I have always had a strange temper. I won’t care about what the outside world thinks of you because, to , your acting is good enough to be considered that of a great actor!"
Maya Monroe nodded the entire ti, occasionally responding with an affirmative.
But to Shane Morgan, her lazy deanor appeared as obedient and sensible.
It turned out the malicious rumors crafted by the outside world couldn’t be true; calling Maya Monroe an arrogant and domineering vase was a mistake. She was actually an amiable and well-mannered good actor.
The more Shane Morgan looked, the more satisfied he was, pleased to have discovered a good actor.
"Maya, I believe you won’t disappoint . You can always co to with any problems! I trust my own judgnt; you are undoubtedly a good prospect that can be cultivated!"
Maya Monroe nodded again.
Seeing her looking a bit weary, and recalling her impressive performance during auditions, Shane Morgan sighed contentedly: "Are you tired of reading the script? Quickly go get so rest!"
"Not really."
She wasn’t tired from reading the script.
"Don’t say you’re not tired. Just look at yourself, you’re obviously sleepy. Go get so rest! I know there’s this buzzword among young people like you called ’internal competition’, but health is most important!"
Knowing it was pointless to explain, Maya Monroe turned and left under Shane Morgan’s admiring gaze.
Later that evening, Maya Monroe returned to the hotel, accommodations arranged by the crew. Just as she stepped into the hallway, Leo Lancaster called out to her.
Maya Monroe turned around and saw Leo Lancaster walking towards her, holding a packaging box in his hand.
"Is there sothing you need?"
Leo Lancaster seed taken aback for a second by her unfamiliar tone, the paper package of the tea bags made a subtle cracking sound due to his tight grip.
"Lil’..." he wanted to call her Little Sis, but felt uncomfortable, so he followed his heart: "Maya, didn’t you always call Brother Leo?"
To maintain her persona, Maya Monroe hazily replied: "Sorry, Brother Leo, I haven’t been getting enough sleep lately, I’m kind of out of it all day."
"It’s alright..."
Leo Lancaster glanced over her simple outfit, finally focusing on the little red mole on her nose bridge.
He couldn’t quite say what he felt.
Since childhood, he had doted on the often crying Maya Monroe like a big brother, keeping his indescribable feelings for her in check for years without speaking. Seeing Maya Monroe beco much more beautiful than before, his gaze lingered on her, unable to look away. But her sudden aloofness left him at a bit of a loss.
Leo Lancaster handed her the tea bags: "Seeing that you haven’t been getting enough sleep lately, I wondered if your sleep quality isn’t very good. This is Amber Tea, it helps to relieve stress and aid sleep."
Maya Monroe accepted it: "Thank you, Brother Leo."
In fact, it wasn’t that her sleep quality was bad; it was too good, so she couldn’t bring herself to get up.
Originally, Leo Lancaster wanted to visit her room to chat, but that thought suddenly vanished.
"Maya, it’s been a while since you last reached out to . How... is he treating you well?"
There was no need to na who "he" was.
"Pretty well. Though he’s a bit cool-tempered, he still indulges ."
With the expected response, Leo Lancaster nodded.
He reached out as if to pat her head, like before, but lowered his hand midway.
Leo Lancaster smiled: "Rember to co to if you encounter any problems, and... good luck with the shoot tomorrow!"
"You too."
Back in her room, after washing up, Maya Monroe noticed five missed calls from Ryan Spencer.
Maya Monroe called him back: "Ryan, were you looking for ?"
"Maya, you weren’t sneaking off to eat snacks again, were you?"
Ryan Spencer was quite sensitive about that.
"No, I just went to put on a face mask."
Even if she did eat snacks, she would do so openly, never secretly.
Ryan Spencer seed to breathe a sigh of relief: "It’s great you’re taking care of your skin. But I still need to remind you, you’ve been eating quite a lot of junk food lately, which surely has caused your weight to spike. You’re soon going to be on cara, and if you show up with a round face, people will certainly talk. Listen to , mind your image managent, or don’t bla for forcing you to diet!"
Maya Monroe acknowledged him.
But she didn’t take it to heart at all.
The original character had a fast tabolism and would never gain weight, no matter how many snacks she ate.
"Right, there’s one more thing I forgot to ask you. Director Shane Morgan seems to have a good impression of you. Do you have any personal dealings with him?"
Maya Monroe thought for a mont: "No personal connections, maybe he just rembers because I look quite good."
Ryan Spencer fell silent on the other end for two seconds: "I’ll co to the set to watch you tomorrow, show your best!"
"Got it, Ryan."
"Also, go over the script for tomorrow a few more tis. I know you’re a bit slow, so if you don’t look over it enough, you won’t rember! Put in a good effort now so you’ll perform well tomorrow!"
"Alright."
After hanging up, Maya Monroe tossed the script cluttering the bed onto the table, and soon fell asleep on the bed.
