"Did the show staff send these? I’ve never heard of them sending guests so many snacks. Are they sponsored items from the show?"

"No, they’re candies I endorsed before, along with other snacks. I really like them."

Maya seed to be in a good mood, speaking more than usual.

"That’s really odd..." Scott murmured.

If it were products endorsed by the show, that would be one thing, but now the show staff seems to be in the habit of giving guests snacks, especially ones the guests personally like, like they’re coaxing children... this doesn’t seem like sothing the show staff would do.

Scott sat next to Maya, without any intention to continue asking, knowing Maya always had quirky ideas and couldn’t be viewed with a normal person’s mindset.

When Maya arrived at Ryan’s office, Ryan gave her a once-over from head to toe, then let out a sigh of relief: "It seems like you’re in good spirits after staying in the rainforest for so many days. I was really worried you might be in a bad mood..."

Ryan’s concern wasn’t unfounded, since Maya had the temperant of a pampered young lady who couldn’t stand hardship. Her bad temper and emotional vulnerability were notorious, and her breakdowns not only manifested as lancholy or lethargy but also included her infamous past of berating and assaulting staff...

However, this journey was indeed unexpected for Ryan. In such a long and arduous environnt, Maya not only managed her emotions well but also beca a standout on the show.

Maya now had quite a few genuine fans, and previous haters had quieted down due to the lack of material against her, which were all beyond Ryan’s expectations.

"I didn’t expect this journey to drag on so long. You went through a lot, but thankfully, your popularity increased a lot."

Ryan got up to pour Maya a cup of tea.

He was a tea enthusiast; tasting tea was a big hobby of his. Privately, he had a stash of great teas, and this ti, he took out his treasured tea to share with Maya because he felt for her.

Ryan carefully placed the teacup on the table. The tea was clear, with gentle steam wafting.

"I’ve been watching your performance on the show, and I’m gratified by your growth. But you must be careful about the snake incident in the future. You’re usually not physically active, unable to carry things or lift weights, so subduing the snake was just luck. Never do anything so dangerous again..."

Ryan’s voice abruptly stopped because he was sowhat dumbfounded by what he saw.

He watched Maya lift the teacup with one hand, blow gently on it, and then gulp a large mouthful, leaving the delicate teacup empty in an instant.

Her brows furrowed instantly, and she stuck out her tongue, her lips still a deep red: "This tea tastes awful, don’t you think it’s a bit bland? I think milk tea tastes better."

Maya preferred drinking milk tea and eating spicy hot pot, suggesting her palate was on the heavier side.

Ryan, stunned for two seconds, sat opposite Maya, his expression filled with regret: "You, you drank it all in one go? Did you even taste the flavor? Who tastes tea this way?"

Ryan couldn’t bear to watch her crude and carefree actions, sohow reminded of Pigsy eating Ginsengfruit.

However, in terms of image, Maya had nothing in common with Pigsy. Her complexion was porcelain white, and her exquisite features remained beautiful and striking—not delicately pretty but boldly attractive, an eye-catching presence in any crowd.

Ryan recalled Maya didn’t bring any sunscreen. Despite the rainforest’s sweltering heat, she hadn’t gotten a bit of a tan...

Maya lightly shook the delicate teacup in her hand, unconcerned: "When eating, you take big bites, and the sa goes for drinking. Sipping in small portions would make you die of thirst."

Ryan seriously asked Maya: "Maya, tell , did you really attend the company’s etiquette courses?"

Maya nodded: "I’m such a rule-abiding person, of course, I attended on ti."

She just occasionally skipped class.

One of her legs unconsciously crossed over the other, her long legs stretching, lazy and relaxed.

Maya sat for a while, feeling a bit bored, and stood up: "Ryan, you don’t have anything else, right? Then I’ll go now. There’s a lot waiting for at ho."

"You just got back, and we’ll discuss other things in a couple of days. Go ho and rest well for now, but since when have you been so busy?"

"I’ve always been busy; I’m a very busy person."

She planned to go ho, have a good sleep and a big al, and catch up on those food shows she missed. Thinking about the many things she hadn’t done made her feel overwheld.

Suddenly, Maya’s phone rang.

She froze for a mont, having been without her phone in the rainforest, cut off from the world for so many days, and now finding the ringtone sowhat jarring.

Seeing the na displayed on the screen, Maya was even more surprised.

It was Ian Rowe!

Why was he calling her? What did they have to talk about...

Maya’s phone ringtone was quite common, a popular cheesy love song from a while back, not very tasteful, and loud enough for Ryan to find it hard to ignore.

"Your phone is ringing. Why don’t you answer it?"

Maya’s gaze darkened as she picked up the phone.

"Where are you now? Didn’t you say you’d be here at two in the afternoon?"

Ian’s voice was as calm and composed as ever, almost devoid of any emotional fluctuations.

Maya checked the ti displayed: 2:01...

What was up with Ian Rowe? Wasn’t it too much to fuss over a minute?

It’s the sa old story: when you’re annoyed with soone, everything about them seems botherso. Like now, she was just one minute late, and Ian felt the need to call and confront her.

After silently venting her frustration, Maya’s voice took a contrasting tone. She resud her usual style, exaggerated and greasy: "Oh my, hubby! You called , are you missing ? You just can’t stand being apart from , not even for a second, right?"

There was indeed a mont of silence from Ian’s end.

After a while, Ian’s voice ca through again, not as cold and hard as expected, but slightly awkward: "Where are you now?"

He repeated the question.

"I’m at the company!"

"Alright."

The call was disconnected the very next second.

Maya hesitated with a "huh," staring at the phone screen but unable to decipher Ian’s thoughts.

She put the phone back in her pocket: "Ryan, my hubby is urging ho, so I’m leaving now."

Ryan, familiar with Maya’s marital and emotional situations, responded, "Family shouldn’t be neglected either. Go ho and enjoy so sweet ti together. Hurry up then; I’ll see you off."
