Chapter 9: Ch 9: Wrong Order? - Part 5

"So, where should we go on our date?"

The oga in front of Lynn looked stressed and on the verge of having a panic attack. Lynn could sll the faint traces of pheromones that ca off the oga at that mont.

And they made his mouth water.

His teeth itched with the need to sink into the neck in front of his eyes and mark the oga as his...but he held back.

After all, he did not want to frighten the interesting oga before he had caught him.

’What an interesting oga. These reactions feel so fresh. It makes

want to keep teasing him. But maybe I should tone it down a bit? I am sure my PR manager would have a stroke otherwise.’

Lynn thought about his poor PR manager who often cried in front of him after his missions and often reminded Lynn to maintain his public image.

As the current no.1, he was the face of hunters, so he was reminded often enough to present himself as a ’good person.’

But in reality, even Lynn knew he was not a good person. He was beyond selfish and also willing to go to any lengths to complete his own objective.

’That old man keeps telling

that I need to portray a more selfless image, like Ace used to be. It’s so irritating. But at least, now I have soone new to keep

entertained.’

Lynn did not feel sorry for the PR team, even if he did often comply with them. If they wanted to create a false persona for him to present to the world, they could do that all they wanted on their own.

He had even told them about his issue of losing consciousness while using his powers and then waking up not rembering anything.

But these bastards had not done anything to help him. Instead, they decided to use his story to weave him as a kind and suffering alpha hunter who was sacrificing himself for humanity’s sake.

"Tsk, what do you an date? Have you seen how late it is out there? All we need to do is finish our work and head to sleep."

The oga snapped back and Lynn felt another wave of amusent wash over him.

He knew that the oga was trying to get away from him and discourage this date that Lynn was proposing. But it just made Lynn want to tease him even more.

"Oh-! So forward. I did not know you were such an old oga---wanting to skip all formalities and jumping straight into bed with

and all-"

The oga’s temper flared and Lynn could see him about to explode. And honestly, he was looking forward to it the most.

He had seen what this oga could do in the hospital when he ran away from Lynn. He was fast and powerful...and also not a civilian.

Not after he had survived that fall from the 10th-floor hospital window and still showed no signs of injury.

"Y-You-! Do you want

to report you for sexual harassnt on top of normal harassnt? Oh, I can already see the dia and the news having a field day with this."

The oga threatened and that almost made Lynn flinch.

He could tell that the oga was getting genuinely uncomfortable now and he decided to back off.

"Ah, I understand. Fine, I get your ssage. I will take my pizzas for now and head back for today...."

Lynn headed toward the door after picking up the pizzas he had ordered. But just as he exited the building, he decided to look back.

"Just make sure to co to my room the next ti you co for a delivery. I will inform the reception desk about you."

The alpha stepped outside as soon as he said that and then the door closed behind him.

The door made a loud noise as it snapped shut behind the tall alpha and I finally felt comfortable.

’Finally, he’s gone. I feel like I just fought a battle against so boss monster. Ugh, I want to lie down and rest now...’

But I knew I could not do that. There was too much work to do and if I left it to later, then it would never get done.

Still, I had a feeling that I was forgetting sothing and it had sothing to do with that hot jerk of an alpha that just left....

"Oh my! Did Lynn leave? Since he’s a regular, I wanted to offer him sothing extra for coming, but I guess he decided not to stay...did you get his paynt?"

Emma asked as she ca out. She looked concerned for the bastar—I an, alpha before she turned to ask .

I felt myself freeze as soon as I heard her words.

"Huh. Wait, that bastar—I an, alpha never paid for the delivery and the pizzas, right? Shit-! Emma, Ben, wait here. I will go and get the money-!"

I ran out of the room as fast as I could once I realized what had happened.

Emma looked shocked at my speed and she opened her mouth to say sothing to . But before she could speak, I was out of the shop and crossing the road.

"Shit-! How could I make such a big mistake. I need to get myself together."

I quickly ran across the street to the Luminous guild where Lynn had returned to. But as soon as I entered the lobby, a large crowd of people rushed toward the exit.

I would have been crushed if I did not move out of the way in ti.

But just when I thought I was safe, soone reached out to grab my arm and tug

to follow the group.

"What the-"

I was too stunned and missed my chance to break the grip the small group had on .

"Hey, we have no ti to think or even talk. You are the oga hunter who applied for our team, right? We can have the interview later. For now, co with . There is a dungeon that we need to head to."

And just like that, I was dragged and pushed into the car that was headed toward a dungeon.
