I had said that I would sleep. But sleep eluded
the whole ti I closed my eyes. Even now, I found it difficult to dream of anything I wanted.

"It’s beautiful, right. Does it feel familiar? I won’t be surprised if it does. After all, this is the cradle where you and I were born and everything started. And now, I will make sure this is where everything ends as well."

"So, your mory is still not fully back? I had a feeling that it won’t co back that easily. The sacrifice you made was a huge one. Then, shall I start from the beginning about who you are and who I am and what this world is?"

I wanted to know, but I was not sure how much I could trust Theo. The alpha took my silence as a ’go ahead’ and spoke up.
"In the beginning of ti, when there was no creature or world, the energy split to form you, , and my other half. Our original essences were tasked with creating different universes and then slowly absorbing them when they ran out of use. But both you and my other half were too soft-hearted to do that."

from doing my work, citing that these worlds needed to live as well. However, the energy that was tasked with keeping balance could not take it when too many worlds were born, and it demanded a sacrifice."

Theo explained and I could not find a single thread of a lie in his expression. He was not hiding anything and sohow, that was even scarier than if he were to hide stuff.
"So, you are saying that you did this for ?"
I asked and Theo humd.
"Initially, I decided to start this plan because I wanted you back, but now I have another goal. Along the way, I realized sothing— we will never be able to escape as long as that thing is keeping us trapped in this reality and under its power. So I am going to shatter that power and usher a new era."
Theo sounded so confident that I actually believed him for a second about his plan. But a part of my brain told
that it was too dangerous and foolish.
Things were not going to be as easy as Theo was making it out to be.
’Greatest power corrupts easily. I am afraid that one of the twins has already started to lose their mind to their own desire. So, please make sure you handle them properly.’

I quickly clutched my head to get rid of the pain I was feeling, but my body still staggered.

The feeling of falling did not stop even after the colors vanished. My stomach twisted, my limbs felt weightless, and for a mont, I wondered if I would hit the ground at all.
But instead of crashing, I felt myself being pulled gently, almost cautiously, as if sothing did not want to hurt .
My eyes opened slowly.
The world around
was dim, wrapped in shades of blue and gray.
A soft hum echoed like a heartbeat, steady and ancient. I was no longer in the cocoon of colors, nor was I fully awake in my own bed.
I exhaled shakily.
"What... is this place?"
My voice didn’t echo. Instead, the air absorbed it entirely, like sound had no right to exist here.
A faint silhouette flickered at the edge of my vision.
For a mont, I was certain it would be Theo. But when the figure stepped forward, everything inside
froze. It wasn’t him—at least, not the version I had just seen.

was translucent, glowing faintly, as though made from moonlight rather than flesh.
Their presence felt warm, familiar, and heartbreakingly gentle.
"You heard . Good. I was worried the connection would fail again."
The figure whispered, the sa voice that had spoken in my dream.
I took a small step back.
"Who are you? And why did you talk about the twins losing themselves?"
I asked quietly. My heart was pounding so loudly that it almost drowned out my own words.
The figure tilted their head, their expression softening with a kind of sorrow I didn’t understand.
"You already know who I am. Or rather... you used to."
They said.
My breath hitched at the implication.
They lifted a hand slowly, almost hesitantly, as if afraid I would pull away.
"I don’t have much ti. So listen carefully—before they reach you again."
