"Damn, damn, channel six’s Indian lady is also busy weaving a net, but her new target is to catch fish in the lake, while the broadcaster is even cooler, planning to weave a net to catch the Spear Falcon, right?"

"After watching the broadcaster’s recent streams, I no longer idolize foreign survivalists like Bear Grylls; they can’t produce those effects without a team. In terms of wilderness knowledge, the broadcaster is definitely not inferior to those overly mythicized survival experts."

While talking, Lin Yang picked a sapling only as thick as a child’s arm; he easily chopped it down close to the ground, quickly cleared the branches, and continued searching.

After finding four similarly thick pine poles, he turned and headed back to camp.

"Okay, the preliminary preparations are done; next, before officially starting to weave the net, we need to make a small tool, a gauge, and a shuttle."

"To capture such a large bird of prey, we need a very large sh size, so the net is quite simple to make."

As Lin Yang explained, he took his military knife and began carving, busying himself for about half an hour to produce a simple shuttle and a roughly fifteen-centiter wooden gauge.

"Alright, the tools are ready, we can start weaving the net now. There are many thods to weave a proper fishing net, but I’m using the simplest beginner level. My knotting thod is pretty quick, and you might not understand it, but that’s okay, it’s not sothing you’ll use regularly, just consider it a novelty."

While speaking, Lin Yang started winding PE line around the newly made wooden gauge, coiling it dozens of tis before pulling it off with his hand.

He folded it at the top, tied a knot, and hung it on the pine pole.

At the other end, he wound lots of PE line into the groove in the middle of the shuttle, and it smoothly passed through the first hole. He asured the length with the gauge, flicked his fingers like a butterfly knotting, and the first sh was completed.

The principle was like knitting a sweater; one knot followed by another, the form of the net quickly erged.

However, this net was different from conventional nets in a significant way; it had an unusually large sh size, exactly the length of the wooden gauge—so big that it could easily fit over a person’s head.

In less than half an hour, a hand-woven net that was three ters long, two ters wide, with a sh size over 15 centiters, was ready.

With the help of the gauge and shuttle, the size of the net Lin Yang made was quite standard, although it didn’t look very appealing.

Such large holes—big enough for a live person—completely mismatched the traditional concept of a fishing net.

"Okay, now the net is ready, what do you think? Pretty neat, right?" Lin Yang wiped the sweat from his forehead, feeling quite accomplished.

However, the online friends weren’t really convinced.

"That’s it? These huge gaps, even a human head could fit through; can you really catch a Spear Falcon with this?"

"Watching the process of weaving the net, it seed pretty thodical, but isn’t this net a bit too sparse?"

"If this is supposed to be a fishing net, it looks like only fish over thirty kilograms could be caught. Did you get it wrong?"

Lin Yang smiled and shook his head: "I didn’t get it wrong, the sh for catching eagles is different from that for fishing."

While speaking, he also tested the sh openings with his hands, tying knots were strong, and the material was highly durable PE line, definitely reliable.

"How do you use a net with such large sh openings?"

"Sa question here, 1."

"I want to know too."

Lin Yang pursed his lips and smiled: "I’ll keep you guessing for now; you’ll find out soon enough. Weaving the net is just the first step. I’ve allocated a week for the eagle catching project; there’s still a lot of preparatory work for us to do. While it’s still early, let’s go around and pick a suitable spot for catching the eagle."

.....

In the next two days, Lin Yang beca like the black guy from channel eight when he first arrived, wandering around, seemingly aimless, but actually assessing everything.

The first day, four hanging traps caught no Thunderbirds.

The next morning, he was lucky; two traps were triggered, finally catching so bait for the eagle hunting.

What boosted his confidence was that during their inspection in the afternoon, they spotted the Spear Falcon again.

The previous guess was accurate; this area was within the territory of the Spear Falcon.

Encountering it twice in a short period, at least theoretically, increased the chances of capturing it.

In the last two days, he kept wandering around, mainly trying to spot the bird of prey again. Flying birds of prey have large ranges, potentially covering dozens or hundreds of kiloters.

To hastily set up traps after just one chance encounter would be like seeking a fish by climbing a tree—an exercise in futility.

"Alright, the survey phase is over, I’ll now go grab a shovel and start setting up the hunting ground!"

Excitedly, Lin Yang greeted everyone before heading to his lodging to get busy. He took everything—PE line, net, pine poles, a utility knife, a shovel, an ax—and headed straight to the area where he had just spotted the Spear Falcon again.

He chose the "site," a relatively flat area with hardly any stones and just a few sparse, low bushes. After reaching the location, he simply marked it with so branches and got down to work vigorously.

He dug a rectangular shallow pit about half a ter deep with the shovel, big enough for a person to lie in.

After digging the shallow pit, he used pine and mixed bushes with lichen and various other weeds to create a camouflaged cover for the pit.
