"First, let’s secure the fish catch a bit. Now, while we have the opportunity, let show you how the locals secure a big fish."

Sun Zheng briefly communicated with Tataro, and then Tataro took a bundle of ropes, nearly as thick as a pinky finger, from the toolbox on the boat.

These ropes were likely made through the sa process as the thinner ropes previously seen, twisted from special plant fibers.

After being soaked in oil, they took on a slightly translucent amber color, giving the ropes a very sturdy and high-quality feel.

Tataro took the rope, brutally threaded the end through the catfish’s gills, then pulled it out from the mouth full of sharp teeth, quickly tied a knot, and securely bound the entire big catfish.

The knot was tightly tied, and perhaps it was tied too tightly, as the big catfish seed to struggle montarily but only thrashed symbolically a few tis before calming down.

The long fight before getting out of the water had exhausted all of the Big Catfish’s energy.

Having secured the Big Catfish, Lin Yang and his team turned the boat around and headed back, arriving at the village camp even faster than when they had left, just before one o’clock at midnight.

There were no entertainnt facilities in the jungle, and according to the local customs, one o’clock at midnight was exactly when everyone was deep in sleep.

However, after Tataro led the group back to the nearby camp’s small dock, he unusually started calling out loudly.

Shouts mixed with Portuguese were very recognizable in the dark night.

Soon, many houses in the village lit up with oil lamps, and the physically fit adult n of the village quickly gathered at the dock with torches.

In the low visibility of the night, dozens of natives dressed up and assembling with torches gave off a sowhat ancient vibe of people going to war or hunting.

However, Lin Yang and his team were not nervous, as Sun Zheng told him that Tataro was calling the tribespeople to help.

Indeed.

In the following hour, the live stream viewers witnessed how the tribe, without heavy machinery, ca together to transport and weigh the Big Catfish.

They gathered so thick sticks from around the tribe and made a makeshift fra, then found thick ropes to secure the Big Catfish, and together, shouting commands, dragged the Big Catfish from the back of the boat onto the shore.

The tribe’s weighing scale was a device similar to the traditional scales back ho.

The fish was too large to handle, so they aligned the scales side by side, exerted force simultaneously, and then added the numbers together.

After more than an hour of effort, they finally obtained the final weight of the big fellow:

pounds!

Hearing this weight, even without looking it up online, Lin Yang knew that the big fellow he had caught had surely broken the new record.

"Haha, Master Lin, 532 pounds, definitely a world record, congratulations!"

"Congratulations to us both, you also have half of the military rit," Lin Yang responded with a laugh, feeling extrely pleased.

"It’s getting late, shall we head back to rest?" Sun Zheng continued.

Lin Yang didn’t rush to answer but instead turned to look at the Big Catfish now placed on the fra, while Tataro was explaining sothing to everyone in their native language, seemingly in no rush to sleep.

"What are they doing?"

Sun Zheng explained, "It’s a special local ritual; I can’t quite describe what it exactly ans, but the closest concept, in our terms, would be ’blood relative revenge’.

They will have the most respected person in the tribe preside over the revenge ritual, slaughter the Big Catfish, and then distribute it among all the tribe mbers.

This ritual is a bit gory; I’m not sure if there are restrictions in your live stream room, but I think it’s better not to crowd around to avoid getting the account banned."

If Lin Yang was just streaming, this bloody spectacle indeed wouldn’t be very appealing.

However, besides being a host, he was also tasked with filming a docuntary for CCTV, and such a special tribal ritual was not sothing normally seen.
