After a hearty lunch and rest in the hotel in the afternoon, Lin Yang followed through with his plan in the evening. He took two won and a taxi, and they headed for another branch where they had another big al, spending tens of thousands, yet Lin Yang didn’t mind the expense at all.
The partnership with Mr. Suzuki had co to a close by that afternoon when Lin Yang had already reached out to Dawa Company for communication.
The next day’s agenda continued with a visit to the Dawa Company headquarters to discuss the endorsent collaboration.
As for the endorsent contract, he had professionals draft it before he arrived, and there were basically no major changes except for clarifying so ambiguities that might cause disputes.
The contract was rely a formality, so Lin Yang didn’t pay much attention to it, treating it as just another item on his tourist itinerary in Japan.
The first half of the next day’s schedule went as Lin Yang expected, with a dedicated vehicle picking him up and then taking him and two others to the Dawa headquarters.
After visiting the hall of honor, the equipnt room, and the product showroom, it was ti for a brief discussion about the endorsent contract.
There were no issues with the contract; it was swiftly signed. But just when they were about to leave for a al at the hotel, Lin Yang unexpectedly encountered soone in the lobby of Dawa Company.
This person was none other than the man who had shown clear hostility from across the table the day before!
Saito Shunichi was also taken aback on seeing Lin Yang. He was here because several of his fishing gear chain stores had collaborations with Dawa, and he ca to finalize the sales order plan for the next year. He hadn’t expected to run into the young man from China again.
"Mr. Yoshino, may I ask who this is...?"
Saito Shunichi glanced at Lin Yang and his companions, asking the marketing manager next to him in a questioning tone.
"This is our newly signed brand ambassador for the Greater China region, Mr. Lin Yang from China," Yoshino explained softly.
"No wonder, I vaguely rember seeing him yesterday at Mr. Suzuki’s Bluefin Tuna tasting event. Could you please introduce us?" Saito continued.
"Of course!"
Yoshino thought Saito simply wanted to get to know Lin Yang, as it was normal for individuals of their stature to make acquaintances.
"Mr. Lin Yang, it’s a little presumptuous of to disturb you, but this is Mr. Saito Shunichi, one of our major clients who owns several businesses in Japan and is a well-known Heila angler. He would like to get acquainted with you," Yoshino acted as an interdiary and made the introductions, so Lin Yang and Saito formally t.
Lin Yang nodded slightly with a smile: "Hello, Mr. Saito."
"Lin Yang, I heard you not only caught a record-breaking Big Bluefin Tuna but also won this year’s international fishing competition?"
Saito Shunichi’s gaze still carried so aggression, which made Lin Yang uncomfortable.
"Yes, is there a problem?" Seeing the hostility in his eyes, Lin Yang too shed his politeness, responding with a stern look.
"Actually, I noticed you yesterday at Mr. Suzuki’s tasting event, but we were too far apart for to greet you. I’m lucky to have run into you today at Dawa Company," Saito continued.
After hearing the translation, Lin Yang then asked, "Yes, and then?"
"Dawa is a fishing gear brand that I really like. In fact, our companies have been collaborating for over 15 years. I believe that to be a brand ambassador for Dawa, one needs to have real skill! I’ve heard the international fishing competition is quite chaotic, that one can simply buy a championship. Did you win your championship that way?"
Hearing Saito say this, the color drained from Yoshino’s face.
This was no friendly greeting, but a blatant provocation, with a heavily slanderous tone!
"Mr. Saito, isn’t that remark a bit too much?" Yoshino said, feeling sowhat embarrassed, not translating it.
"Translate it as I said, if you want to continue with this year’s contract, don’t worry, any issues will not be your concern, but a private matter between and this ’China man,’" Saito Shunichi pressured him with the pending order.
Although Lin Yang didn’t understand much, the clearly insulting term ’China man’ made his anger surge.
"Mr. Yoshino, what did this rude fellow just say? I just heard the word ’China man,’" he demanded sternly.
Seeing that Lin Yang was getting angry, Yoshino felt like dying; he was only a marketing manager responsible for hosting and translation because he knew Chinese.
Now they were dealing with both the freshly signed brand ambassador for the Greater China region and Saito Shunichi, a powerful figure in Japan’s retail industry.
The two had barely exchanged a few words before tempers flared; this could be tricky to handle. If mishandled, it might cause a serious issue, and he would suffer.
Seeing as Yoshino hadn’t responded imdiately, Lin Yang continued sternly: "Is there sothing Mr. Yoshino finds inconvenient to translate? If that’s the case, I will call Mr. Suzuki right now to ask him to bring another translator!"
Upon hearing Lin Yang say this, Yoshino could no longer feign ignorance and reluctantly translated the gist, though the wording was slightly toned down to prevent the situation from heating up further.
