"Is Uncle Lin at ho?"

Just then, a pleasant and clear female voice ca from the doorway.

"At ho, at ho," Lin Zhiyuan, hearing soone calling for him, called back loudly.

Lin Yang looked towards the door upon hearing the voice, and the visitor was Chen Yue.

"Yue’er, you’re here."

"Brother Yang, you’re ho too," Chen Yue said as she walked in.

"Ah, Yue is here, co in and sit."

Mrs. Lin heard the voice and ca out of the room, then enthusiastically brought over a stool and handed it over.

"Aiyah, it was several years ago the last ti I saw you, and now, a few years later, you’ve beco even more beautiful."

"Thank you Auntie, I’ll just stand. I just got back the day before yesterday. We ran out of rice at ho, and mom said she called Uncle Lin in the morning to ask for help bringing a bag from town, I’m here to get it."

"Indeed, it’s been brought, I’ll deliver it to you," Mr. Lin said, about to put down the plastic bottle he was filling.

Mrs. Lin subtly pinched her husband’s lower back and said, "What’s the rush? Yue rarely visits, let her sit for a while before leaving."

"Besides, she and our Lin Yang grew up together and were classmates. Couldn’t they just chat for a bit? Right, son?"

Seeing his mother’s tactics, Lin Yang’s expression beca sowhat awkward.

However, seeing the intense look in his mother’s eyes, he compromised and said, "Haha, right, right, we’ve been playing together since we were kids. You’ve barely co over, so sit for a while before you head back. Let my dad take the rice to your place."

Chen Yue, overwheld by the warm invitation from both mother and son, couldn’t be excessively polite and, with a slightly blushing face, took the stool and sat down.

"What are you standing there for? Hurry and take the rice back to Yue’s place!" Mrs. Lin glared at Lin Zhiyuan beside her and said indignantly.

"Ah, okay, okay."

Lin Zhiyuan was sowhat confused, not knowing whether to go or stay, so he chuckled awkwardly and, prompted by his wife, went back downstairs to a room on the first floor to carry out a large bag of rice.

"That man has no tact," Mrs. Lin muttered under her breath before heading toward the main room.

"You sit; I’ll go cut so fruit for you."

Seated in the courtyard, the pair felt a distinct matchmaking ambiance from Mrs. Lin’s bustling about.

Chen Yue was also sowhat embarrassed by these actions.

However, Lin Yang didn’t see it as a big deal; they had just t the day before, and he had even invited Yue’er over to play.

The two chatted for a while.

Mrs. Lin walked over carrying a tray of fruit that was neatly arranged.

"Co, co, Yue, have so fruit."

Seeing his mother’s enthusiastic behavior, Lin Yang couldn’t help but grimace—after all, who was the real son here? He had never been treated like this from childhood until now.

"Thank you, Auntie." Chen Yue quickly stood up, took the tray from Mrs. Lin’s hands, and placed it on a nearby stool.

"Just now you two were chatting happily, why has it beco so quiet? Did our Lin Yang bully you? Tell Auntie, and Auntie will give him a good talking to for you."

"No, Auntie," Chen Yue replied, her face turning a bit red, shaking her head.

"That’s good. Yue, I heard from your mom that you’re not going back this ti, so co over and visit more often."

"Just like before, weren’t you always coming over to play with your Brother Yang? So treat this just like your own ho."

Mrs. Lin also pulled over a small stool and sat down, looking at Chen Yue with a joyful expression.

"By the way, Yue, do you have a boyfriend now?"

Lin Yang nearly choked on his fruit when he heard his mother ask this question.

Chen Yue imdiately stood up, her cheeks blushing like ripe peaches.

"Ah, I should head back, Auntie. My mom is still waiting for to help cook dinner," she said, her face fully red, sneaking a glance at Lin Yang before quickly running out.

"Hey, slow down, Yue," Mrs. Lin said as she got up and stretched her neck to watch Chen Yue’s departing figure, a smile on her face.

"Yue, the more I look at her, the easier on the eyes she becos. She’s pretty, and she’s got a nice figure; she’ll definitely give birth to a son!"

"Mom."

Even Lin Yang was at a loss for words now.

"What’s the matter, tired of listening to mom nag?"

"I’m telling you, son, Yue is a good girl, you should spend more ti visiting her."

"I used to think you weren’t good enough for her, but now I think you two are a perfect match!"

"Mom, how can you even compare them!" Lin Yang said, sowhat frustrated by his mother’s words.

"What do you an? I’m doing this for your good. If you miss out on such a great girl, you might be rich later, but you won’t be able to marry her," Mrs. Lin finished speaking and went back to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

"...."

Lin Yang couldn’t help but sigh, having such a ddleso mother was truly in a league of its own.

"Sigh, I wonder if Mom’s words just now scared the girl."

Thinking this, he picked up his phone that was lying nearby and started typing a ssage.

"Sorry about that, Yue’er. My mom is just very straightforward. I hope it didn’t scare you."

No sooner had he sent the ssage than his phone beeped.

Yue’er: "Ah, it’s nothing, Brother Yang."

Lin Yang: "That’s good to hear. I was worried you were scared by how you ran off."

Yue’er: "No, no, it was just quite sudden."

Quite sudden?

Lin Yang was perplexed by this ssage, wondering what she ant by ’quite sudden.’

But since she was fine, he simply washed his hands and finished filling the remaining few bottles of bait.

Right after he sat down, his phone beeped again.

Yue’er: "So Brother Yang, do you have a girlfriend?"

"Haha?"

Seeing the ssage, Lin Yang laughed and quickly replied.

"You guess."

Lin Yang had dated a girlfriend while in school, but they broke up after a short ti.

Yue’er: "Hmph..."

Lin Yang didn’t tease her any further and went back to: "No, if I had a girlfriend, could I still stay at ho and fish every day?"

Yue’er: "Hmph (smiley face), that’s good."

Seeing this, Lin Yang also stopped chatting and hurriedly began preparing the bait, as his stock listed for today was almost sold out; he needed to hurry and prepare the goods for tomorrow.

.....

After dinner, Lin Yang had finished washing up and returned to his room.

As usual, he began to organize the day’s shipnts.

He checked the sales of today’s bait on the streaming platform, which had steadily grown as expected; two thousand bottles were listed and he had sold over seventeen hundred in just one day, netting a profit of fifty thousand yuan.

It seed that the remaining bait on the little yellow cart wouldn’t suffice for even tomorrow morning, so he listed another two thousand bottles.

As for why he didn’t work overti to stock more, he understood the strategy of hunger marketing.

This kept the custors on edge, giving them the illusion of ’the quick and the slow miss out’; of course, this was only viable if the quality of the bait was up to standard, otherwise, it could easily backfire.

Moreover, he didn’t want his parents to get too tired—as money was endless, but one’s health is one’s own.

He glanced at the number of fans; possibly because he had made it to the hourly leaderboard today, the growth was quite rapid, increasing by over ten thousand and breaking the forty thousand milestone.

Then there was today’s inco.

Today he had made two thousand yuan, unlocking two types of fish and winning fifty thousand yuan in contest prizes and another fifty thousand from bait sales, totaling over a staggering hundred thousand for the day.

Of course, there were so other minor gifts that could be considered negligible.

After being busy half the day, Lin Yang also felt that he really needed to find so help, otherwise, the family couldn’t keep up.

He could leave the filling of the bait to his mom and dad, but they definitely couldn’t handle the custor service for deliveries and invoicing.

Even the task of video editing wasn’t his forte. Being an engineering guy, video editing was extrely ti-consuming for him.

A ten-minute clip took him two busy hours, and the results were still not very good.

"It seems Yue’er studied advertising business at college; this video editing should be a piece of cake for her, and she can even handle organizing the bait orders and serve as custor support," he thought.

With that in mind, Lin Yang hesitated no longer and opened his ssaging app.

Lin Yang: "Are you there?"

The reply ca instantly, Yue’er: "Yeah, I’m here (smiley face)."

Lin Yang: "Aren’t you looking for a job? I have one that might be a good fit for you..."

Then, Lin Yang proceeded to share his thoughts.

Yue’er, on the other end, was a bit surprised after reading Lin Yang’s ssage; she hadn’t expected her childhood friend to be broadcasting and selling online.

Quickly, she agreed without any hesitation.

Because Lin Yang was offering her five thousand yuan a month, and that was just for the first month; plus, the workload wasn’t very heavy and it was close to ho, which was pretty good.

And so, the first ’employee’ of Lin Yang Studio was officially on board.

....

The next morning, Lin Yang was awakened by his mom’s knocking.

Because he had been busy until late the night before, he got up a bit late today.

"What’s up, Mom?"

"Hurry up and get up, Yue has been waiting for you for a while now."

At the ntion of this, Lin Yang imdiately perked up, thinking, "Oh no, I just asked my little assistant to co over early last night and totally forgot about it because of my deep sleep."

He quickly dressed, got out of bed, and opened his door, only to see a charming figure sitting on the living room sofa, hugging a compact laptop.

Today, Chen Yue was dressed in her usual girl-next-door style, her pretty face without any light makeup yet looking exceptionally delicate and charming, in a knee-high polka dot dress that revealed two delicate legs as she sat.

"Haha, Yue’er, you got here early, didn’t you?" Lin Yang greeted her with a bit of embarrassnt.

Chen Yue wrinkled her little nose, "Look at the ti, you big sleepyhead, you told to co over early last night."

Lin Yang, "Haha, totally unexpected. Just sit for a while, I’ll go and wash up."

With that, he walked out of the room.

"Xiao Yang, I’ve already chopped the fruit, it’s on the kitchen table, bring it in later, alright? Yue ca all the way here early in the morning, so be smart about it."

His mom whispered this to Lin Yang as she walked towards the front door.

"Hey, Mom, where are you heading so early in the morning?"

His mom gave him a glance, "I’m off to visit Yue’er’s aunt, I sure don’t want to disturb you young folks."

"Oh, right, your breakfast is kept warm in the rice cooker, don’t forget to turn off the power after you’ve eaten."

Lin Yang brushing his teeth, "Mm-hm, got it, go ahead."

After quickly brushing his teeth and washing his face, he went into the kitchen, hastily ate his breakfast in a few minutes, and then hurriedly carried the fruit-laden tray back to the living room.

"We don’t have much in the way of snacks at ho, so just make do with this." Saying this, he squeezed onto the sofa right next to Chen Yue.

"Ah, it’s too cramped."

The young girl imdiately blushed and shifted a bit farther inside, pouting lightly.

Lin Yang, unfazed with a thick skin, started pulling out his phone to transfer the video of yesterday’s fishing competition, explaining what kind of effects he wanted.

"By the way, Yue’er, do you watch live streams?"

The young girl shook her small head, "I don’t like watching those, I usually catch up on TV dramas when I’m bored."

"Oh, I see...."

Thus, what should have been a quick video editing session, stretched out to over two hours due to Lin Yang’s incessant questions and interruptions.

By the ti Chen Yue fled, her face was as red as a monkey’s butt.

"I didn’t notice last ti, but who knew this little girl was so full of surprises."

No sooner had he uttered these words than Lin Yang felt he was being a bit sleazy, not his usual self.

Could it really be that money changes people for the worse?
