The teams that could participate in this competition were not just regular fishing enthusiasts. So were professional team players, others were popular anglers online; everyone’s fishing level was exceptionally high.
As so well-known anglers ca up on stage, the atmosphere at the venue turned more and more lively.
After several team representatives went on stage, the attention of Lin Yang and his two friends was drawn to a petite beauty coming up next.

The first category is small miscellaneous fish, like white fish, Mai Sui, and Silver Carp; these fish are generally worth 0.1 or 0.2 points, they score low, but the advantage is they are easy to catch.
The second category includes common bottom-dwelling fish, such as Crucian Carp, Carp, Grass Carp, and Bream. These are generally near or at the bottom and mostly omnivores. These fish have middle-range points, and the difficulty of fishing is also dium, generally between 0.5 and 3 points.
The third category is high-scoring local species, specifically the Seven-star fish, Big Head Carp, and the rarest, the Erhai Bowfish.
These three types have one thing in common: they all like aty bait, and both Big Head Carp and Erhai Bowfish are upper-layer fish, while Seven-star fish isn’t strictly an upper-layer fish, but it also cos up to feed.
So my strategy is, Yue’er, you use a 2.7-ter short rod to fish for small miscellaneous fish on the water’s surface, Xiao Peng, you use the 4.5-ter rod for bottom-dwelling Crucian and Carps, and I will mainly target the local rare species!"
Lin Yang continuously worked the area with a short rod at the upper layer of the water, inevitably catching so small miscellaneous fish, adding so points, but as long as he kept at it, he was sure to attract Big Head Carp, Seven-star fish, and Bowfish.
Once these three kinds of fish arrived, catching just one or two would give him enough points to advance to the next round of the competition.
After hearing his competition plan, Li Xiaopeng and Yue’er also nodded continuously.

As the competition officially began, all 300 teams, totaling 900 participants, began fishing.
Due to this round’s scoring system being radically different from other fishing contests which generally rank by weight, and instead used a new system of scoring by fish species and number, the strategies set by various teams varied significantly, along with their fishing thods.
