The listone cave, characteristic of the karst topography, was a sight Lin Yang had not expected to see here.

Lin Yang climbed atop a slightly larger rock, increasingly moved by the marvels crafted by Mother Nature.

Looking down, he noticed the winding stream inside the cave was quite spacious, and the light couldn’t reach its depths, indicating there was an underground river.

Upon closer examination, he could see small fish scattering under the beam of his light.

"Wow! This place is beautiful!"

The mont Yue’er entered, she exclaid in awe, her voice echoing continuously in the cave.

At this point, Lin Yang took off the lamp on his head, positioning it in a suitable spot, allowing them to see clearly inside the cave, though not as brightly as outside.

He then set down his pack and took out a 3.6-ter fishing rod while also opening so comrcial bait mixed with his own rice wine.

It was his first ti fishing inside a cave, and he was uncertain if the flavor of the bait was right or effective, but he supposed it was suitable for the sandy riverbed fish of the cave.

As Yue’er, who had just finished taking pictures, saw Lin Yang squatting and fiddling with fishing gear, she asked curiously, "Brother Yang, are you planning to fish here?"

"Yes, I can’t forget my roots, no matter where I go," Lin Yang nodded and replied.

"I want to fish too," she stepped forward and said.

"Okay, wait a mont and I’ll share so gear with you,"

Lin Yang directly opened a bag of slly bait and started mixing it, including the Crucian Carp rice wine in the mix, though not casting it imdiately into the water, rather incorporating it into the bait.

This was a precaution just in case the sll of the bait was wrong, which would then spoil the fishing spot.

While Lin Yang prepared the bait, Yue’er took out a 3.6-ter fishing rod that had beco exclusively hers.

Five minutes later, the bait was ready.

In this kind of cave pool, fishing didn’t require finding the bottom; simply adjusting the fishing float roughly was enough.

He baited the hooks, casting the rods into the water.

Lin Yang squinted at the fishing floats nearby which were barely visible.

He contemplated using the headlamp next to him, as using it could scare the fish underwater away.

If he didn’t use it, the faint signals would be almost imperceptible; moreover, the shallow water wouldn’t help if he fished closer. He wished he had brought a luminous float.

Hopefully, his bait would work.

Although Lin Yang was having trouble deciding, Yue’er appeared leisurely, continuously watching her fishing rod.

Regarding the floats in front of her, whether they indicated a catch or not, just fishing in such an environnt fulfilled her imnsely.

A few minutes later, while Lin Yang was still intently trying to discern the floats,

"Wow."

Suddenly, Yue’er let out a cry of surprise, then lifted her fishing rod, revealing a small fish the size of a fingertip, thrashing lively on the hook.

"Brother Yang, I caught a fish!" she excitedly raised her rod and reeled in the line, pulling the fish to the shore.

"....."

Seeing Yue’er catching a fish before him left Lin Yang sowhat dumbfounded. Was this the beginner’s luck effect?

Although surprised, Lin Yang was also happy for her.

The small fish Yue’er caught was scaleless with reddish flesh, long whiskers, and an elegantly slender form.

Moreover, this fish had a distinct feature: if one wasn’t careful, it was impossible to notice its eyes.

Another happy note for Lin Yang was that the bait Yue’er used was the slly comrcial bait he had shared with her.

Seeing this, he grabbed a handful of the bait he’d mixed and threw it out, confident now in the flavor, and proceeded to attract the fish.

Now all he had to do was wait for a bite, Lin Yang thought.

Sure enough, as soon as he finished throwing the bait, the rod positioned in front of him began to quiver vigorously.

Ah!

Seeing this, he quickly gripped the rod and jerked it to hook the fish.

Soon, a fish, similar in appearance to the one Yue’er had caught, was landed.

Based on his knowledge of aquatic species, Lin Yang identified this small fish as a Blind Fish, mainly relying on their keen sense of sll and long whiskers to perceive the world.

He placed the fish in a keeper net and secretly checked to see if unlocking this species in his handbook had earned any rewards.

To his disappointnt, there was only a cash reward of two hundred, a little experience, and points, with no other special bonuses.

Despite a slight disappointnt, fishing within the cave was still quite enjoyable.

Moreover, since the cave’s unique species also took to the bait, he could just treat it like fishing in any other environnt.

With a light tug, he pulled out two clumps of bait the size of soybeans from the hooks and cast them into the recently baited waters.

Repeated a few tis, adjusting the frequency and pulling up the rod.

After more than a dozen casts, Lin Yang finally saw signs of activity on the float in front of him.

The float moved like nibbles of small fish, first quivering, then dragging diagonally downwards, turning into a sinking float.

He jerked the rod to hook the fish.

Lin Yang felt the tension transmitted through the line, the pull was decent, indicating the fish was not small.

However, not having brought a net and using only a standard small line, he did not dare apply too much force. Instead, he continuously adjusted the angle of the rod and wrestled with the fish underwater.
