Wang Feng heard this and imdiately rose to his feet, "Where is it? I’ll help you fetch it."
Lin Yang shook his head, "No need for the ice, just help grab so drinks, okay."
Are you kidding ? Cooling indeed can alleviate lactic acid to so extent, but that’s just on the surface. The core chanism is that cooling causes the superficial blood vessels to constrict, allowing more blood carrying lactic acid to enter the heart and speed up the tabolic circulation internally.
However, implenting this strategy after the activity is over would be fine, but doing so mid-way would reduce the blood’s oxygen-carrying capacity in the muscles, which would affect catching fish.
Lin Yang wasn’t finished competing yet; when they reached the next point, he’d still have to compete, so he decisively refused.
Hearing his words, Wang Feng quickly retrieved a few cans of Red Bull from the boat’s refrigerator.
Lin Yang unapologetically popped open a can and guzzled it down.
"Ah, this chilled Red Bull is so refreshing," he squinted his eyes and couldn’t help but exclaim.
"Dude, you’re going a bit overboard, openly advertising Red Bull like that, okay? There are tens of thousands of people in the live broadcast room."
"How much does Red Bull pay you? I’ll offer double from Lehu."
"We, Dongpeng Special Drink, offer triple..."
The viewers in the live broadcast began joking around uncontrollably.
Lin Yang casually threw the empty can into the trash bin, wiped his mouth, and stood up, "Alright, fully revived. We are almost at the target point; let’s try to catch one more fish to end today’s competition."
"I bet those foreigners will explode in anger hearing the host’s words, making catching a giant grouper sound as easy as playing around."
"To be honest, the look of this giant grouper is horrifying. It reminds of the sea demon from ’Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons’, with that huge head, scar-covered body, and the spines on its back..."
While chatting leisurely, the fishing boat stopped at the new point.
The location was still under the cross-sea bridge, but the depth of the water was significantly greater. Looking down from the boat, the darkness of the water had deepened considerably.
"Look, there aren’t many competing boats active around here. According to the captain, the water is over thirty ters deep here, which counts as deep water in this area. Let’s change to fresh bait and try our luck; perhaps we can catch another fish," Lin Yang said.
He greeted everyone and held the fishing hook in his hand, habitually scanning the line setup.
Noticing sothing crucial, he put the bait fish he was holding with his right hand aside, retrieved his tools, and cut off the segnt of the leader line tied to the hook.
"Lucky I checked before going into the water. Look, everyone, after catching two fish, this part of the leader line is already damaged. I guess it’s due to the strong pull at a certain underwater position causing it to rub against so obstacles. Fortunately, it didn’t break. Now we will replace this segnt and redo a leader line..."
Under the cara, the cut piece of leader line in Lin Yang’s hand indeed had several frayed barbs, which could break easily with a bit more force.
After replacing the leader line properly and tying on the hook, he attached fresh bait and cast it down.
Little did Lin Yang know that his good fishing habits would save him from a huge loss in the upcoming fishing session.
"Man, such a thick fishing line being worn down like this. Lucky that you checked beforehand," one of the viewers comnted.
"Damn, the line is almost as thick as a ballpoint pen. You could not only use it for fishing but also to tie up a cow at ho. A bit of wear and tear should be okay, right?" another chid in.
"I’m not concerned about the fishing line; seeing that shiny big hook makes scared. Careful there, you absolutely must pay attention to safety," yet another viewer added.
Lin Yang carefully felt the speed at which the bait fish and the weight were sinking. Once the line stopped, he slowly started reeling in to tighten the main line.
"Like today, fishing for giant groupers in such special environntal conditions calls for extrely exaggerated fishing lines. Currently, we’re using 300-pound main nylon lines and 240-pound carbon leader lines. Such a setup might suffice for deep-sea fishing, even for a thousand-pound Bluefin Tuna, but it is still risky for giant groupers."
"As everyone saw before, the fraying caused by friction doesn’t look severe, but the effect on tensile strength is monuntal. From personal experience, a wear that looks minor could reduce the tensile strength by at least half. Fortunately, the fish we caught earlier was smaller, and now we’re fishing in roughly forty ters of water depth, where the resistance after catching a fish would be greater."
While casually chatting and sharing knowledgeable facts, Lin Yang flicked the fishing rod, teasing the bait. In a slightly darker area, moving food stands a higher chance of being attacked.
At that mont, if there was an underwater cara, one could see a whole fresh fish, bleeding and moving irregularly under Lin Yang’s teasing, scattering more of the bloody scent into the surrounding waters.
Just then, from a dark cave beneath the bridge pier, a huge fish poked its head out of the cave’s opening.
It was clear; the fish was exceptionally large, even bigger than the first giant grouper caught earlier. It was unknown how long it had lived in that hiding spot, its massive head almost the sa thickness as the cave opening.
Unlike other dium-sized giant groupers that were very gluttonous and bold, this big fellow was much more timid and sensitive. It seed to have so reservations. After sensing the blood in the water, instead of rushing out to swallow the bait recklessly, it hesitated at the entrance, observing its surroundings carefully.
