The next morning, when Jiang Moxi was preparing to go to school, she saw Fu Youhan still working on docunts at the dining table.

He was already dressed in a black shirt, his handso face so indifferent that Jiang Moxi began to doubt if it was the sa man who had been passionately entwined with her the night before.

Perhaps her gaze was too focused, alerting him to sothing.

Soon, he looked up at Jiang Moxi: "Have breakfast before you go!"

His expression showed no change, the entire person still looked so distant and noble.

Jiang Moxi glanced at the food on the table, saw soy milk, sweet potatoes, and at buns, and sat down to eat as well.

Halfway through her al, Fu Youhan suddenly said, "I have to make a trip to Emperor City this afternoon, it will probably take two days before I return."

Hearing the words "Emperor City," Jiang Moxi felt a little dazed.

"What’s wrong?" Fu Youhan asked when he saw her remaining silent, his eyebrows slightly raising.

"Nothing." Jiang Moxi lowered her gaze, concealing all the emotions swirling in the depths of her eyes.

She rembered her past with Feng Ming in Emperor City, as well as their grievances with those people.

But to Fu Youhan, it appeared as her unease for having attracted the attention of Si Lin and being left alone in Yan City.

So, Fu Youhan slid his phone towards her.

"Add on WeChat, you can contact anyti if it’s urgent."

Jiang Moxi did not object and directly added Fu Youhan as a friend.

After all, living under the sa roof and not having each other’s contact information, seed sowhat unjustifiable.

After adding each other as friends, it was about ti to leave, so Jiang Moxi picked up her backpack and left.

She didn’t have classes this morning, so she went to the hospital.

In the hospital, Feng Ming was still with his eyes tightly closed, like a wax statue.

But the caregiver told her, "Miss Jiang, I’m not sure if it was a dream or not, but I think I saw Mr. Feng open his eyes."

"Did you tell the doctor about this?" Jiang Moxi felt her blood boiling with excitent.

Four years!

For four years she hadn’t stopped hoping for Feng Ming to wake up!

"No. I was worried it might have been a dream, but I truly saw Mr. Feng open his eyes and look at twice..."

The caregiver had been looking after Feng Ming for four years and this was the first ti he had encountered such an incident.

So coma patients occasionally open their eyes, which is considered normal.

But since he started taking care of Feng Ming four years ago, he had never seen Feng Ming’s eyes open, so he also doubted whether he had seen wrong.

After hearing the caregiver’s words, Jiang Moxi didn’t bother to say more to him and rushed directly to the office of the chief physician Zhang Lianggui to inform him of the caregiver’s observations.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Lianggui also showed a face filled with joy.

"This proves that the electrodes we implanted in the back of his neck before have started working, and I believe it won’t be long before he will wake up!"

This answer undoubtedly invigorated Jiang Moxi as if she had been injected with chicken blood, even her work at the milk tea shop afterward was brisk!

However, just as Jiang Moxi was filled with longing for life because of the good news that Feng Ming was about to wake up, Jiang Guosheng appeared in the milk tea shop where she worked.

Jiang Guosheng ordered a cup of milk tea specifically to speak with Jiang Moxi.

"Moxi, you’ve been ignoring my calls, so I had to ask Weiwei about your whereabouts."

Yes, Jiang Guosheng didn’t even know that Jiang Moxi had to work part-ti while studying.

So when he saw her wearing the milk tea shop’s uniform, and rembered earlier when he inquired about Jiang Weiwei who was dressed in a haute couture CL sumr dress, he felt sowhat guilty inside.

"Oh. Next please!" Jiang Moxi, expressionless, handed the milk tea to Jiang Guosheng and then gestured to the custors waiting in line behind to order.

The milk tea shop near the school was doing good business, and correspondingly, the hourly wage was also high.

But working part-ti here, if you were a bit too slow in your movents and got complained about by a custor, your pay would be deducted.

Even though Jiang Moxi had called for the "next", and the students behind were ready to step up and order, Jiang Guosheng still stubbornly occupied the window and wouldn’t leave.

"Moxi, I’ll just take a few minutes of your ti. After I’ve spoken, I’ll leave!"

Jiang Moxi imdiately grew impatient: "But do you know that I’ll have my pay deducted because of these few minutes you’re delaying ?"

However, Jiang Guosheng looked genuinely surprised: "Are you that short on money? What about the pocket money I gave you?"

"Do I need to remind you? You guys stopped all my cards before I started university, and I even earned my tuition fees by myself."

These words added a bit more guilt to Jiang Guosheng’s conscience.

"Sorry, I forgot about that."

That happened during Jiang Moxi’s senior year of high school when she got into a fight and caused a female classmate to lose three teeth and sustain a broken nose.

The girl’s parents were relentless and the school had to call in Jiang Moxi’s parents to discuss a solution.

Jiang Guosheng rembered being extrely angry at the ti, thinking Jiang Moxi was beyond hope and that she had also caused them to lose all face, so that very day he stopped all of Jiang Moxi’s cards.

He had thought at the ti, when this child admits her mistakes and becos sensible, he would give her pocket money again.

But Jiang Moxi never admitted wrongdoing, wouldn’t change her ssy makeup, and refused to wear nicer clothes.

Moreover, Jiang Moxi never asked them for money either, so they pushed the matter to the back of their minds.

Now, reflecting on it, Jiang Guosheng felt that Jiang Moxi’s abortion might have been related sohow to finances, and he suddenly felt he owed her.

"I’ll bring you a new card tomorrow."

But Jiang Moxi just gave a mocking smile: "Thanks, but I don’t need it now."

She had already toughed out the most difficult tis by herself.

Trying to compensate for her now, wasn’t it too late?

"Moxi, I really want to make it up to you."

"If you really want to make it up to , leave now, don’t delay my work."

Facing Jiang Guosheng’s friendly overtures, not a ripple stirred in Jiang Moxi’s eyes.

Yet Jiang Guosheng still refused to let it go, "Then will you attend Grandpa and Grandma’s golden wedding banquet tomorrow? The other branches of the family and your aunt will be there with their whole families. We’re inviting quite a few guests, and we can’t let others mock us, can we?"

Jiang Moxi gave a wry smile, it turned out that he ca all this way to find her just because he was afraid of losing face at the banquet.

But if she helped them save face, who was there to save hers?

Yet seeing the growing impatience of the custors behind and Jiang Guosheng’s obstinate look of not giving up until he had an answer, Jiang Moxi finally compromised: "I’ll attend."

"Good, then it’s settled. I will also persuade your mother to get you a new card..."

Jiang Guosheng was satisfied with the response and was about to list the ways he intended to compensate Jiang Moxi.

But Jiang Moxi didn’t give him a chance to continue, "If you don’t leave now, I won’t go."

"Alright, Dad is leaving now." Jiang Guosheng swiftly left.

Watching his back retreat almost as if in flight, a trace of mockery appeared on Jiang Moxi’s lips...
