Fu Youhan focused his attention once again on the manager upon hearing Jiang Moxi’s na ntioned.

The manager could sense Fu Youhan’s handso face darkening, as well as the intimidating presence he exuded, but still, it seed sowhat better than the day he ca with a fury like one ready to commit slaughter.

Thus, the words the manager couldn’t utter that day ca out quite smoothly now.

"That day, Moxi left with Young Master Si because she fainted. That’s why he took her away."

Upon hearing this belated truth, Fu Youhan’s eyes, sharper than a hawk’s, were fixed intently on the manager.

"She fainted? What happened?"

The manager, sensing the impending storm in the man’s deanor, stamred as he spoke.

"I’m not clear on the details, but I know that at the ti, Moxi seed to be suffering. Young Master Si called out to her a few tis, but she didn’t wake up. It was after that when he took her away."

Fu Youhan also rembered noticing sothing strange with Jiang Moxi’s way of walking that evening—causing him to chase after her.

So at that ti, was Jiang Moxi ill?

No wonder when he saw Jiang Moxi today, he felt that she seed noticeably thinner and her complexion overly pale.

Especially tonight, when he lost control and pinned her down on the sofa, he could feel that she really lost a lot of weight; when held, she felt like bones.

So she didn’t spend the whole night out with Si Lin in mischief, but was actually ill...

Fu Youhan didn’t know how to describe his current emotions, feeling as though his heart had been pierced by sothing.

No visible wounds, yet the pain was imnse.

He angrily questioned the manager, "Then why didn’t you clarify things at the ti?"

The manager continued to shiver as he replied, "I wanted to continue, but you told to get lost."

Fu Youhan was rendered speechless.

It was just like the manager had said. He might have wanted to say more, but fearing he would hear things he didn’t want to, he had sent the manager away.

"Third Young Master, I’ve made everything clear I had to say. If you have no further orders, I’ll go back to work," the manager said softly.

Fu Youhan knew none of this was the manager’s fault and gestured for him to leave.

Once the manager had left, Fu Youhan left Night Color and returned to Tianqin Bay.

It was nearing dawn, and there were no lights on in the house.

Fu Youhan sat on the sofa, looking at the pitch-black room, Jiang Moxi’s image flickering through his mind frequently.

Thinking of her occasional initiatives, her occasional aloofness, but more overwhelmingly, the sweet reluctance from before she lied about going to South of Caiyun...

He even pondered why Jiang Moxi, who could be misunderstood as staying out all night with Si Lin without any word, had not bothered to explain.

So was it the sa situation between her and the handso sick man in the hospital?

Then he recalled the tis before they were together.

Back then, matters between n and won seed trivial to him and lonely nights didn’t drag on so.

What happened, why could he suddenly not handle nights alone...

Fu Youhan sat in the living room, pondering these perplexing questions, eyes open until the break of dawn.

The next morning, Jiang Moxi awoke to a cough.

However, what she didn’t expect was that the mont she sat up, a cup of warm water was presented to her.

Jiang Moxi followed the hand offering the cup in surprise and saw Fu Youhan’s handso face, which never failed to captivate.

Fu Youhan, feeling sowhat uncomfortable under her gaze, cleared his throat and said, "Drink so water to soothe your throat. It’ll feel better."

Jiang Moxi, having just woken up, was sowhat confused and took a couple sips of the warm water.

But her mory soon returned, and she thrust the cup back into the man’s hands.

"Why are you in my room?" She rembered that she had locked the door before going to sleep.

Fu Youhan dodged the question and lightly answered, "I heard you coughing and brought you so water."

However, Jiang Moxi wasn’t very concerned about the answer, and quickly got out of bed to freshen up.

By the ti she was ready to leave, Fu Youhan was already seated at the dining table, with the sa delectable breakfast laid out as before.

"Eat sothing first. I’ll take you to see the doctor later. You can’t let your severe cough drag on."

Fu Youhan, as usual, invited Jiang Moxi to eat breakfast.

His tone was the sa as before, as if nothing had ever happened.

After a brief pause, Jiang Moxi still shook her head: "No need."

If care is like a sumr thunderstorm, then she would rather not have it.

To avoid having too many expectations, and thus, too many disappointnts.

Jiang Moxi grabbed her backpack and was about to leave when Fu Youhan followed and grabbed her wrist, his voice tinged with urgency: "Xixi, be obedient!"

Jiang Moxi looked at the hand gripping her wrist and then frowned at the man: "What’s gotten into you today? Did you overdose on your dication?"

Otherwise, how could it be that overnight, he seed like a changed person?

"I’m just concerned about you."

Fu Youhan also knew that changing his usual deanor would certainly seem strange to Jiang Moxi.

But intuition told him that if he let Jiang Moxi leave now, she would be like a kite with its string cut, never to return.

"I don’t need your concern."

Jiang Moxi shook off Fu Youhan’s hand and, looking into his eyes, said with a beauty that was shattered and disjointed: "In a couple of days, I’ll move out once I find a place."

After dropping these words, she didn’t wait for Fu Youhan to respond and left straight away.

Fu Youhan looked at his empty hand, feeling sowhat bewildered for a mont...

As Chinese New Year’s Eve drew near, the streets and alleys of Yan City were festooned with decorations, as every household prepared for the reunion.

Only Jiang Moxi, alone and isolated, wandered the streets nibbling on biscuits, looking for rental information.

Si Lin drove by, just in ti to witness the scene...

Thinking of all the bad things about this woman, he slamd his foot on the accelerator, and the car vanished around the corner.

However, two minutes hadn’t passed before Si Lin’s supercar steadily parked in front of Jiang Moxi.

At that mont, Jiang Moxi’s mouth was bulging full of biscuits.

Seeing Si Lin pose to remove his sunglasses without warning in front of her, she choked a little and then embarrassingly started coughing.

Si Lin only wanted a cool entrance, so Jiang Moxi would realize what "neglect yesterday’s , and you can’t reach today’s " ant.

But seeing Jiang Moxi coughing so severely, he couldn’t care less about that.

He imdiately threw away his sunglasses and quickly ca to Jiang Moxi’s side, gently patting her back.

"Are you okay? Do you need so water?"

Jiang Moxi caught her breath and found her voice after a while: "I’m fine."

"It’s almost New Year’s, what are you wandering around outside for?"

After saying this, Si Lin wanted to bite his tongue. He swore he would stop caring about this bad woman.

"Looking for a place to stay," Jiang Moxi said after taking a sip of water from a bottle she took out of her backpack.

"Tsk, kicked out by family during the holidays?"

Si Lin truly wanted to take pleasure in her misfortune, but looking into Jiang Moxi’s beautiful eyes, which only showed pride and loneliness, so words just spilled out unintentionally.

"That apartnt you visited the other day, I’ll give it to you. You can just move in with your bags."

But Si Lin didn’t expect that despite his willingness to help Jiang Moxi without holding grudges, she simply said: "No need, I’ll find a place to stay on my own."

Then, she picked up her backpack and left without giving Si Lin even a spare glance.

Si Lin watched her ruthlessly departing figure and imdiately cursed: "If anyone else bothers with your damn issues ever again, they’re a damn dog!"

Yet, that very night, he beca that dog.

Because he found Yuan Zhou, who assigned him this task: "In the shortest ti possible, rent the apartnt closest to Technical College to Jiang Moxi."
