Ling Hua replied despondently, "How would I know? Anyway, Sister Moxi said, even if she waited until I finished my university entrance exams, she would still resign. By resigning earlier, she can even save my mother so money."

Fu Youhan listened to this, his handso face revealing a chilling coldness.

How could he possibly not see that Jiang Moxi’s sudden resignation was to avoid him, Fu Youhan?

Just like the encounter just now, she originally agreed to stay for dinner at Ling Hua’s request, but she made an excuse to leave as soon as she saw him, Fu Youhan.

The more he thought about it, the more agitated Fu Youhan beca, even yanking off the tie around his neck.

But Ling Hua seed not to notice Fu Youhan’s displeasure and continued to plead with him pitifully.

"Uncle, can you help persuade Sister Moxi not to resign, please?"

Fu Youhan wanted to refuse. He couldn’t be bothered with a woman who had done wrong, didn’t know how to reflect on it, and had thrown a tantrum.

But looking at Ling Hua, who appeared like an abandoned little puppy, pitiful, helpless, and fragile, the words of rejection Fu Youhan had in mind changed.

"Let try and speak to her. It might not be successful though, so don’t get your hopes too high."

Right, Fu Youhan was not sure he could persuade Jiang Moxi to stay for Ling Hua.

But when Ling Hua heard his agreent, she beca elated, "That’s great, Uncle. With you stepping in, Sister Moxi will definitely stay."

Fu Youhan did not respond again, a flicker of mockery in his eyes.

Would Jiang Moxi listen to him?

Heh...

After returning to Tianqin Bay from the Ling Family, Jiang Moxi was curled up on the sofa, ready to flip through so French books she had started reading earlier.

At this mont, her phone rang; it was a WeChat ssage from Li Tinglu.

"Sister Moxi, today is Little New Year’s Eve, how co you didn’t attend the family reunion at the old house?"

Jiang Moxi glanced at the myriad of lights outside the floor-to-ceiling window, her eyes clouded with confusion for a mont before she replied to Li Tinglu.

"I won’t go back anymore."

Fortunately, Li Tinglu didn’t inquire about the reasons for not returning, "It’s better that you didn’t go, so you don’t have to deal with those annoying matters."

Li Tinglu thought of today, when Jiang Weiwei took out the ancient jade with such arrogance.

And how Yu Man, Xiao Qingyun, Zhao Guangi, and even her own mother, Jiang Ruxin, all revered Jiang Weiwei with that piece of jade.

She felt that Jiang Moxi would have definitely been in a bad mood if she had seen it.

Thinking this, Li Tinglu’s mind wandered back to the ancient jade and she sent another ssage to Jiang Moxi.

She told Jiang Moxi about how Jiang Tairan was going to help Fang Jin find the ancient jade, and how it turned out that Jiang Weiwei had that exact piece of jade in her possession.

On top of that, Li Tinglu added in her ssage, "I always felt that the way Jiang Weiwei got that piece of ancient jade was fishy."

But Jiang Moxi replied to her, "Let’s not talk about them."

Ever since Jiang Tairan had used such despicable tactics, wanting to use her and the Bu Family for a trade of interests, Jiang Moxi had completely lost hope in the entire Jiang Family.

Moreover, Feng Ming had woken up.

According to his current rate of recovery, in half a year he would definitely return to his state from four years ago, and it wouldn’t be a problem for him to go back to Emperor City either.

After sending Feng Ming back to Emperor City, she was going to leave this city for good.

In the future, whether it was Jiang Guosheng, Yu Man, Jiang Weiwei, or any other Jiang Family mbers, they would all have nothing to do with her.

As for Li Tinglu...

Jiang Moxi thought for a mont and sent her another ssage: "When will you be free in the next two days, I have a gift for you."

Seeing that Jiang Moxi wanted to give her a gift, Li Tinglu imdiately bombarded her with ssages, eagerly asking what the gift was.

"A little gift." A farewell gift.

But these last four words, Jiang Moxi did not send.

Otherwise, given Li Tinglu’s character, Jiang Moxi would probably be inundated with ssages and calls tonight.

Just when Jiang Moxi had sent out this ssage, suddenly there was a noise at the front door.

Jiang Moxi looked up in surprise and saw Fu Youhan changing shoes at the entrance.

The man was a perfect clothes hanger; even the unremarkable black suit jacket and trousers looked hormone-overloading on him, easily making any woman fall at first glance.

Jiang Moxi quickly looked away but couldn’t help but straighten her back, pretending everything was normal.

And as soon as Fu Youhan finished changing into slippers, his gaze couldn’t help but fall upon Jiang Moxi.

The heating inside was just right, and she was still wearing a white sweater.

But she was very stunning; even the plainest of colors couldn’t hide her allure.

This made Fu Youhan involuntarily recall those nights the two of them had spent together, the intimate whispers and touches.

However, Jiang Moxi’s gaze stayed fixed on the book she held in her hands.

Her deliberate evasion really irked Fu Youhan.

So his voice was colder than usual when he spoke.

"I just ca to tell you, if you quit tutoring Huahua just to avoid eting , there’s no need. I’ll just make sure not to co over during those tis in the future."

Jiang Moxi listened to the man’s voice, devoid of any warmth, and quickly responded.

"It’s not because of you. I have enough money now and don’t need to work part-ti for the ti being."

Fu Youhan’s gaze stayed on Jiang Moxi, noting how she hadn’t taken another look at him from the beginning to end, her eyes fixed on the book.

This feeling of being completely unaffected by his presence, made Fu Youhan’s irritation grow imnsely.

Suddenly, he stepped forward, pinching Jiang Moxi’s chin, forcing her to look him in the eyes.

"Suddenly you have enough money now? Is it because you got together with Si Lin and he gives you money to spend? Or is it the person in the hospital ward, who also gave you a lot?"

Jiang Moxi could not rember how long it had been since she had last made such close eye contact with Fu Youhan.

Within those dark, ink-like pupils, only her reflection, Jiang Moxi, could be seen.

This made Jiang Moxi involuntarily rember, before she went behind Fu Youhan’s back to support Feng Ming’s rehabilitation, those tis when they were seemingly deeply in love, so sweet and close...

Those mories, like spiritual opium, had caused her to beco deeply addicted, trapped and unable to extricate herself. They were also the root of her recent misery and despair, causing her sleepless nights and tasteless als.

She was afraid the pain, which had seeped into her bones, would intensify once more; thus, she had been deliberately avoiding him all day.

Now was no different; she quickly freed herself from Fu Youhan’s grip on her chin, turned her face away, and said coldly, "Think whatever you like."

After all, in his heart, she was just an object that could be replaced at any ti, so why bother explaining?

Fu Youhan, seeing Jiang Moxi struggling to the point of leaving red marks on her chin to break free from him, felt even more furious.

He abruptly leaned over, forcibly pinning her down on the sofa, demanding loudly, "Whatever they can give you, I can give you too. Why can’t you just stick with ?"

Jiang Moxi felt the changes in the man on top of her, and she struggled to break free, even landing a slap on his face.

"You can’t even stay faithful yourself, yet you demand faithfulness from ? Why should I?"

Her voice, too, was as cold as hers could be.

Just as Fu Youhan was about to question Jiang Moxi when he had ever failed to remain faithful, the doorbell suddenly rang...
