Chapter 96: Chapter 96

"How long do you plan to ignore , princess?" Killian leaned over to her side slightly the mont breakfast ca to an end.

Alia ignored his question and asked Margaret, "Are you free later, grandmother? I will pay you a visit when you are."

"I have nothing to do but sit around at this age. Co whenever you are not busy," Margaret answered. She gave Killian a quick glance afterward. Margaret was glad Killian had beco interested in Alia enough to not have killed anyone else.

After sensing sothing was wrong between the two, Margaret was worried he might change his mind about letting them not be hard considering Richard was dead but it seed like Killian was enjoying receiving a cold shoulder. Margaret couldn’t help but wonder how her ancestors would feel to see a demon had given up violence and chose to peacefully marry a human.

Margaret was certain they would argue Killian had sothing up his sleeves and Margaret did not doubt that but she truly believed Alia would be the one to unite the two kingdoms. As Killian’s love for Alia grows, he would harm fewer humans to please her.

’We’ve gone back to that old tradition,’ Margaret thought. She had been told as a child that groups of humans used to wed young girls to demons to stop the demons from attacking the others. Truthfully, the demons would just feed on the girl’s bodies so they were no longer hungry and had no need to attack other humans.

’Alia won’t end up like those girls,’ Margaret thought and it was not because Killian had feelings for Alia but due to the fact Alia was the golden child according to the prophecy Richard had found out about.

There was nothing Richard could hide from Margaret when she was still living in the castle. When she found out he dared go to a witch doctor when her side of the family was involved with the temple, she nearly strangled him because of the problems his visit would create. Luckily, there was so good out of it. Richard had made ntion of the child in Anne’s stomach being the golden child. The perfect ruler to sit on a throne.

Margaret smiled as she watched Alia continue to ignore Killian. Alia did not know it yet but she had a good destiny ahead of her as queen. The one thing Margaret had to consider was if Alia would be able to shine brightly beside a dark creature like Killian. ’Maybe the golden child is ant to shine light in that world,’ she considered.

"I’m finished. Have a good day," Alia stood up from her chair. She wanted to say that everyone but Killian should have a good day but she could not be rude to him in front of others. It was best to just ignore him until her candy was given back.

"Killian, the court minister, and I would love to start writing out the truce before you are ant to return to the north soon," Fraser said and flashed a smirk when Alia stopped walking. "The eting will start in an hour. You can bring along anyone you need."

"And when was I going to be inford of this eting," Alia glared at her cousin.

"Now now cousin. You didn’t think you could be the only person with private conversations did you?" Fraser asked. He considered this returning a favor after she tried to rub it in his face that his grandfather had spoken to her and Killian. "You know that princesses are never involved in these types of etings. Don’t bother yourself with it."

"Don’t bother myself with it?" Alia scoffed after the words left her mouth. "The only reason this castle could conjure up a truce with the north is that I agreed to marry Killian. I should be present when this truce is being made as it involves

and my people. No matter what, I have Blackwell blood-"

’If your father was alive he would not allow you to be present in this eting. Do not say otherwise just because you are marrying Killian Bune. Go and start packing, Alia. The n in the castle will take care of it," said Fraser.

"Like you took care of not letting northerners be able to enter our gates. If you fools want to exclude

from the opportunity I created then fine. Killian," she turned around to face the man she had been ignoring. "I am no longer going to marry you. Do as you wish."

"Alia!" Fraser exclaid and abruptly stood up. "Do not mind her, Killian. This is going too far. You’ll put the people in jeopardy because you can’t attend a simple eting? Take back your words imdiately or would you rather this castle be burned to the ground because no truce was ford?"

"As you said, leave it to the n in the castle so that is what I shall do. Since I am not important enough to attend etings in my castle, I am not important enough to marry a man like Killian Bune. Figure it out quickly dear cousin or the throne will never belong to you. Good day," Alia did a small curtsy and left the dining hall.

Margaret shook her head, knowing Alia was not playing around.

Fraser stared at her walking away in disbelief while Killian felt amused.

"Well, now that deal is broken I am going to give your people an hour to find sothing to make

go ahead with the truce, or I will go back to my original plan to kill all of you," Killian warned Fraser specifically. He was well aware Alia would not break their engagent for that long and be only scaring the people here. Wanting to be forgiven, he would join in her scare tactic.

"W-Wait. Killian," Fraser said but he wasn’t sure how to finish what he wanted to say. "I will speak to my cousin," he reassured Killian first then ran after Alia.

"Why aren’t you chasing after her too?" Killian questioned Margaret as she seed unphased by Alia’s announcent.

"Well, at my age there’s no point in getting worked up on things the young folks have to solve. Until I feel like my granddaughter’s life is in danger, there is nothing for

to worry about. You on the other hand should worry about what you have done to make my granddaughter mad at you," said Margaret.

"I burned so of her favorite food.

Margaret looked worried for a mont but then she smiled. "Instead of sitting here talking to , you should be trying to figure out how you will get that food back for her. Her claws co out when soone sses with her food. Not even I am bold enough to take food from that child."

"Noted," Killian replied.

anwhile,

Alia took a stroll back to her bedroom. She didn’t care what anyone present in the dining hall, be it servants or her family, thought of her calling off the engagent. No longer would she be excluded after the sacrifice she made to marry Killian. It was either they start involving her in this matter or send Fraser to marry so female relative of Killian.

Alia knew she had a card in her hand. Right now, the only thing that pleased Killian and stopped him from attacking was her. The court ministers and Killian needed to be kind to her. Matter of fact, they should be kissing her ass if they wanted to remain alive.

"I’m not going to give up so easily and let things go back to how they were before my father died," Alia muttered softly.

As Cyrus walked behind Alia, he felt proud of the way she was thinking. Others might seek to call her spoiled and a fool for putting everyone’s life in danger but she had to do this to be more involved in castle affairs. Without turning around Cyrus told Alia, "Your cousin is following us."

"Of course he is. He can see the throne slipping away from him if I don’t agree to marry Killian. The expression on his face sure changed quickly. From now on, things are going to go my way," Alia said with confidence.

"You fool!" Fraser called out to Alia. "Do you have any idea what you have done?" He hunched over and started to pant.

"Why are you panting already, Fraser? We are not that far from the dining hall. You look fit but you are actually out of shape. Why are you following

instead of going to find a way to form this truce once again? You’re wasting precious ti," said Alia.

"Can you not think about yourself for once, Alia? This is not just about you. This is the entire kingdom we have to think about. The people in the castle will soon die if you do not think this over and go back to Killian before he becos uninterested in you."

"Not think about myself for once? All I do is think about this kingdom. Make life easier for a princess and then I will think about changing my mind," Alia suggested.
