Chapter 65: Chapter 65
’I’m sorry mother,’ Alia ntally apologized to her mother for burning her tower. ’I needed a distraction. I’ll be leaving the castle soon. I hope with many of your mories burnt and
leaving, your soul can finally move on from this dreaded place. Do
a favor and strangle my father. Though I suppose he won’t be where you are.’
Alia heard light footsteps of soone approaching her but did not need to turn around to know who it was. "Cyrus, I thought I told you to look for Gina. You know she must be scared out of her mind. I am fine."
"Why?" Cyrus asked.
Alia knew he was not referring to going off to look for Gina. He knew she finally said yes to Killian’s offer. "It’s not only about . I have to do what is right for my people. The Blackwells and the north have been at each other’s throats far too long. I have a new path now, Cyrus."
Alia had always been focused on trying to beco the next Blackwell queen. Now, her path had changed to becoming a good queen for the north and uniting the two kingdoms so no one innocent would get hurt on both sides.
"I will beco the best queen anyone has ever witnessed. One way or the other, I was ant to rule. I will make this world better where you can walk around the Blackwell kingdom without receiving glares. I know you want
to be cautious of Killian and I will be. After I find who you have been looking for, you will co with
to the north right?"
"Princess," Cyrus sighed. He never had any intention of returning to the north especially after Killian denoted him a traitor for siding with Alia. Now Killian wanted to marry her. How hilarious. "You that I cannot leave you alone. I cannot let you go there with those de-" Cyrus caught himself before he revealed their secret.
"Those what?" Alia’s curiosity about the north increased now that Cyrus was warning her about sothing else. She wanted to know why the priests practically barricaded themselves inside of the temple from the mont Killian arrived and why Cyrus would never step foot in the temple. "Cyrus, if there is sothing I must know please tell
before it blows up in my face."
"Believe , princess. I desperately want to but I am forbidden to as of right now and I am afraid of how you will react. Before night passes, ask Killian Bune what is the North’s greatest secret that most of the world does not know. If he does not tell you the truth, I will not allow you to marry him."
"How will you know whether he has told
or not? Must I co to you?" Alia wanted to say that Cyrus was making her extrely scared of the future. Why couldn’t he just tell her what it was? She wouldn’t tell anyone she heard it from him. "I will ask him tonight but even if he does not tell , I expect you to tell ."
"I will," Cyrus promised.
"I’m going inside to see what I can retrieve from my mother’s things and before you object, I am aware of the danger. You are such a worry wart," Alia chuckled.
Cyrus frowned, disliking being called such a ridiculous na. One of the two of them had to care for her safety. Many tis Alia had no fear and between the two of them, she would be the first to spontaneously jump into a fire which was odd when you consider the fact he was a demon.
"Thankfully after everything that happened last night, the fire was able to be put out-"
"I will lead the way, princess." Cyrus walked ahead of her to make a clear path. "It rained while you were asleep so the floors will be even more of a ss."
"Do you think it rained because my mother was sowhere crying last night? I’d like to believe that. How do you think the people will react to
marrying Killian? Will they pity , judge , or be thankful?" Alia asked.
"It will be all three," Cyrus honestly replied. The kingdom will certainly have mixed reactions. "There is nothing you can do to please everyone. Many of your people hate the north and would rather you find a way to kill Killian rather than marry him."
"That is far from possible. There is sothing dangerous about that man that I cannot see yet. He will not be an easy opponent and I do not wish for there to co a ti when I would have to fight against him. I hope he can keep his promises. All of the portraits are ruined," Alia murmured as she took in the state of the walls.
"There are many more around the castle that you should be able to take. I should have grabbed a few a long ti ago."
"I-" Alia opened her mouth to say sothing but she was interrupted by Fraser.
"You must be thrilled," Fraser said from behind Alia. There was so space between where he stood from Alia. "Queen of the north. You must think you are better than ."
"I love to disagree with you, Fraser. Not once have I thought about being better than you because I will be the queen of the north. I have considered the fact you might run this castle into the ground," Alia shrugged her shoulders.
"You, I would bet all of my money that you made him have grandmother watch . You cannot stand that I will get what you thought belonged to you."
"I am not the one who is angry. You got what you have always wanted but instead of running to your mother to tell her the good news, you are here annoying . Please seek help, Fraser. Act like you are about to beco king. We are not children anymore," Alia said.
There was too much going on around them to have to deal with Fraser too. Fraser would soon sit on the Blackwell throne. Why were his trousers in a twist because she would be the queen of the north?
"You bitch!" Fraser spat.
"What on earth did you just call ?" Alia’s blood started to boil after being called out of her na. "I am going to relax before I do sothing I certainly won’t regret. Turn around and leave
the hell alone, Fraser."
"Or what? Now that you are engaged to him you’ll have him co after ? I wouldn’t put it past you to beco big headed after getting engaged to that man. I should warn you dear cousin that n are ruthless. Do you think you will be treated well in the north? You’re walking into endless threats on your life and people who will not respect you."
"It’s funny," Alia stated after Fraser beca silent. "You claid that I was never your competition but why are you acting this way? Isn’t this too much? The people are what matters right now but you are choosing to argue with
about nonsense. I fear you should not be left to sit on the throne. Grandmother would be better."
"You better not," Fraser stomped his way up the stairs to Alia but before he could touch her, Cyrus ca in between them. "You’ve always had a thing for northern dogs. Was it easy for you to say yes to Killian because you enjoyed fucking this one? Were you always a northern whore? No wonder your father was ashad of you. It must get you going to see so many northerners here."
Alia quickly shoved Cyrus to the side and slapped Fraser across his right cheek. The slap echoed in the silent tower. Cyrus was surprised Alia had done it but Fraser had it coming. "I am not a northern whore. Unlike you, I have not been sleeping around. Call
that again and I will have your head whether it be my future husband doing it for ."
Killian was a dangerous man and if soone like Fraser was attacking her, why wouldn’t she get her husband to dispose of them? He needed to be put to so use.
"We are both going to be put in positions where thousands of lives will be affected by our decisions. Grow up quickly. No matter how much you might hate my presence, put on your best smile and act like an adult when we are in the presence of others. When there is no one around, ignore . If you don’t, so help
the throne will be looking for a new king," Alia gave him a stern warning.
Her hand trembled from her restraint to not push him down the stairs or take Cyrus’s sword and wound him for calling her a bitch and a whore. More than his cousin, she was a princess. She was tired of everyone treating the title as if it ant nothing.
"Are you crazy?" Fraser finally registered the fact he had been struck by Alia. Never before in his life had soone placed their hands on him. Fraser raised his hand to return the embarrassnt to Alia.
