Chapter 281: Chapter 281

"You have called

here so early in the morning when I have not yet fed my wife. It is rude of you to be leaving already, don’t you think?" Killian said, keeping his eyes on Margaret as she tried to leave. She was the mastermind behind all of this so she could not leave just yet. Not when he knew she was looking to go to Alia.

"He is gone!" Remiel alerted the others when Killian vanished from the spot he previously stood. He wished Margaret and the others had listened to his ideas. Then they wouldn’t have a demon doing as he liked in their temple.

Margaret halted when Killian appeared before her. Blocking her path to get out of the temple so she could go to Alia. She reached into her hair for jewelry dipped in holy water.

"Protect lady Margaret!" Remiel yelled, rushing to be by her side.

Killian lazily looked away from Margaret to the priest running toward him. He was in the mood to kill them when they called for him and Alia, but with Alia hurting, he couldn’t spend his ti on them. As much as he would love to stain this castle with blood, he would leave that to Alia for her to have her revenge.

Margaret used Killian being distracted to reach into her hair for what she needed to stab him with, but she froze when she saw his eyes glowing red and loud groans leaving the mouths of the priests who were ant to be coming to defend her. Shortly after, she heard them falling to the floor.

Margaret took a risk to turn away from Killian to see what had happened to her priests. She saw their bodies were still as they no longer groaned and she could not tell if they were still breathing.

"You have not studied

enough to know the skills I possess. I have more of your kind to kill today and I would rather not return to Alia covered in blood. Do not do sothing foolish. I might be inclined to kill you and hide it from Alia," Killian said as he passed Margaret. He wanted to get a good look at the temple since it wasn’t every day he walked into one.

"Our temples are sacred. The people will be angry with not only you but Alia since you have killed the priest-"

"They are not dead. Not yet since I have not started to feed," Kilian said, stepping over the man nad Remiel. "I must thank you for preparing a feast. Naming yourselves after angels. How more of a joke can you be?"

"You are not to eat the souls of my priests!" Margaret yelled, hoping the others would hear her and co in. It shouldn’t be taking this long to co inside. Once she got Killian inside the temple and the water was poured, they were ant to co in for the attack.

"If you are trying to call for help there won’t be anyone coming to save you. I took care of the fools you called from out of town to kill . When the priests started to gather with you, I knew to keep an eye on what you were plotting," Killian said.

Since he and Alia had looked at the mirror and saw Margaret eting with the priests and then he heard of Margaret becoming the head priest, he found it to be strange that the priests were eting again when they had been so quiet the last ti he set foot in the Blackwell kingdom.

Still, Margaret cared for Alia and she approved of the marriage then so he did not think too much about it. It was only when Margaret was cold to him yesterday that he thought to look further into what the priests were up to.

While Killian and Alia spoke with her relatives, Alastor led the rest of the demons not guarding Alia to find any information about the priests. It was a little surprise to hear that many priests had started to gather in the town. Specifically, Margaret’s ho.

Feeling famished, Killian bent down to pick up one of the priests who would serve as his first snack. "I will turn Alia to a demon," he said, to upset Margaret and it did just that. He couldn’t kill her yet, but Alia said nothing about torture. If her heart were to stop at this news, it couldn’t be said that he had killed her.

Margaret saw red upon hearing Killian’s words. The priests had sacrificed a lot by letting Alia marry a demon for the greater cause. For soone from the bloodline of the original priests to beco a demon, would be a mockery of their family na and the things they had done. Margaret would not be able to protect Alia then.

If Alia were to go through with becoming a demon, she would have to lose the Blackwell throne she desired and ultimately, her life.

Margaret no longer thought of leaving the temple. Even if she wanted to leave she would not be able to make it out with Killian here. She was unaffected by the sight of Killian’s true experience. The sides of his mouth opened up wider as if it had torn and the horns were present on his forehead. There was still more to him hidden to not reveal the demon he was.

Killian’s human appearance was what fooled Alia. There was a monster lurking underneath this appearance he created. Alia wouldn’t be so willing to sleep with Killian once she saw his true appearance.

"Many humans have died from demons carelessly turning them. You will end up killing her," Margaret said.

"Has it not dawned on you yet that I love your granddaughter? As a demon so close to the devil, if she were to die, I would just bring her back to this word. How foul," Killian muttered, dropping the priest he used for food. There was nothing good about the taste of the soul he had just eaten.
