Chapter 263: Chapter 263
"Is the pain of having a child with
still bothering you?" Killian asked.
Dinner was now over, and everyone was going their separate ways. Since Alia was told about the pain of carrying a demon child, she had gone silent. She only gave a short answer when soone tried to have a conversation with her.
"How can I not? It is easy for you to say that there will be no pain, but I am the one who has to experience it and decide if there is more pain or not. Do we honestly need children? Isn’t it good with just the two of us? Then there’s Alastor, Gina, Edith, and we have two wolves. That seems like a big enough family already. Why ruin it?" Alia asked, hoping Killian would agree with her.
Killian held her hand to calm her. She wasn’t kidding when she said she could overthink. "I will be the only one of my kind if I do not have a child, and you wish to have a child of your blood sit on the Blackwell throne when your ti as queen cos to an end."
"Why must you always be the voice of reason?" Alia muttered, annoyed by the fact that he was right. "Fine, but I get to torture you to get back at you for making
go through this. It is partially my fault since I lay there with you, but it feels better to bla only you."
"Of course," Killian replied, not bothered by it. She could hurt him as much as she would like if it would make her feel better. He looked forward to their first child together and the many more that would follow though Alia did not agree with his numbers
"I am sorry that I did not talk to you about leading demons onto Blackwell land before bringing it up to Lucifer. It ca to mind at the mont and I did not want to miss the opportunity to ask. Did that upset you?" Alia asked, looking up at Killian.
"A little bit. I thought it was your way to get back at
for not telling you about my plans with Lucifer. I would prefer that you be here, safe in the castle when that ti cos. I wouldn’t have to worry about where you are," Killian replied.
"I will be safe. I will be with Edith and Sadie. Now Lilith will join us," Alia said to rid him of any concern.
Killian stopped walking and gazed down at Alia. "Lilith being with you adds to my concerns. She is awaiting any chance to jump into bed with you."
Alia blushed, as she got the sa feeling when she was near Lilith. "I have no intention of being with Lilith that way, no matter how much I admire her, and we will be busy with other things."
"You underestimate her ability to seduce anyone at any ti. She must be given credit for seducing Lucifer and having him marry her. You look determined to do it, so I will not try to change your mind. I only ask that you take care of yourself. You make
worry," Killian confessed. Never had he been so worried about soone else until Alia.
Not even the hellhounds he had when they were rely babies made him worry this much. Not about them or the people they tried to eat.
"If you truly do not want
to go through with it, I will tell Lucifer that I change my mind. I don’t want to do sothing you are not happy with," Alia paused and stared at Killian, who was quite close to her after a quick kiss on her lips. "What was that for?"
"You keep surprising . You do not need to change your mind because of my concern. I also need to leave the castle, but you have not begged
to stay. Though I wish you would. What would it take for you to cling to
and beg
not to go off to a dangerous war?" Killian asked.
"Well," Alia said, looking off to the side. "The reason why I don’t cling to you out of worry is that I know you will win. You have always carried the na demon king before I knew you were a demon. I have not forgotten the stories of your battles, so I feel more sorry for who will stand in front of you than for your safety. Did I give the wrong answer?" She wondered out loud as Killian suddenly rested his head on her shoulder.
Alia felt his body shake from laughter as he held her in place so his weight would not cause her to stumble. Killian wanted her to probably cry like other wives who had to watch their husbands leave for war, but her husband was different. Killian was not going to lose, especially with so many demons following him.
"I will miss you," Alia added, so it wouldn’t seem like she did not care. "Are you crying or laughing because I cannot tell right now. I am hoping that you are crying because my words ward your heart."
"I believe tears have escaped my eyes because of my laughter. It is ti for us to go. There is sothing you have promised
and I cannot wait anymore to-"
"Wait," Alia said, stepping back and pushing Killian up so she could get a good look at him. "Let us walk there. If we fly again, I will be in more of a mood to vomit. You making us disappear doesn’t feel any better. A walk would be better for us. We don’t always have the ti to just walk around without any disruptions."
Alia pulled Killian’s hand, which she was still holding onto, and led him down the hall in the direction of the gate. They would be seen leaving, but she trusted Killian would help cover their tracks from anyone who wanted to follow them. ’We should take a horse,’ Alia thought, but then she figured the horse would make too much noise.
On the other hand, Killian wasn’t bothered by how they would get there. It was already exciting that Alia was taking charge and pulling him out of the castle. There was no regret for scaring her with flying since he now got to witness her holding onto him tightly and taking him out of the castle.
Alia and Killian eventually walked out of the castle gates. There weren’t many demons going and coming into the gates aside from the guards, so Alia wasn’t that worried about being followed.
"I should have brought a coat," Alia muttered as the cold air nipped at her skin. Luckily, it wasn’t so unbearable, and the warmth of Killian’s body helped her cope with it. "I cannot believe I am walking around the snow looking for a spot to make love to my husband. What have I beco?"
"Fun," Killian answered. "You are becoming adventurous like the won in those books-"
With a speed Alia didn’t know she was capable of, she turned to cover Killian’s mouth with her hand. "What would it take for you to completely forget about those books? I wish to hit you over the head with one, so you should lose the mory of them."
Killian pulled Alia close so his body would warm her up. Taking a stroll with her was great, but he didn’t have the patience for it right now. He took them away from being so close to the castle to a secluded area where they could not be disturbed.
Killian laid flat on a pile of snow while Alia rested on top of him. He anticipated an earful because of what he had done, but he always enjoyed seeing her angry.
