Chapter 252: Chapter 252

For the remainder of the day, the Queen was not seen walking around the castle halls. Killian left Alia alone to deal with matters concerning when demons would make their existence known before coming back to Alia.

The growing war was sothing Killian needed to tell Alia about soon as it was drawing near. He knew she would be angry as so of the people on the Blackwell side would die. It was a plan he could not stop as it was decided long before he t her. In this coming new world, it could not be helped that many would not see the aftermath.

Demons revealing that humans were not on top as they thought would have other creatures doing the sa. There was a new world coming and no one could stop it.

Killian pushed open the doors and found Alia sitting on the bed. "Are you ready to leave?" He asked as the sun had begun to set and this was the ti they were ant to et with Sybil.

"Ready," Alia stood up. The day had moved painfully slow, but now the mont had co.

"Rember to keep your mouth shut when I am flying," Killian joked in an effort to bring up Alia’s mood.

"If an insect goes in my mouth again, the kingdom will know that we are in the air. I will keep my mouth closed," Alia folded her lips. She could not learn that her mother was alive and eat an insect on the sa day.

Killian picked Alia up into his arms and walked out to the balcony. "Wouldn’t it be fun for

to toss you over the edge and then try flying down to catch you-"

"Do you want to die today, Killian? It sounds like you wish to die for suggesting that to

right now," Alia glared at him. She knew that he was trying to make her happy, but with the fear that ca from flying, joking about dropping her over the edge of the balcony wasn’t working. "We need to work on how to cheer up soone."

"I thought it worked well. You are no longer sad. Instead, you are angry," Killian said.

Killian opened his wings and began the journey to Sybil’s cave. Alia buried her head in his chest the mont she felt the high wind against her skin. Killian wondered if when she would turn into a demon, she would want to fly on her own. Alia could not keep her eyes open for long once they left the ground.

Honestly, he preferred that she would never fly on her own. There was sothing to enjoy about her clinging to him while he flew around with her. Should she ever think of flying on her own, he should scare her out of it. Perhaps say that her wings could go still in the air and she might start to fall to her death.

It would be a horrible thing to do, but at least he would have her in his arms when they needed to travel.

"You can open your eyes now, Alia. Though I don’t mind you staying in my arms like this."

Alia slowly opened her eyes to see where they were now. It still felt like the wind was beating against her skin so she had not realised they were no longer in the air. Now they were in what looked to be a cave. "Is it possible we can walk back?" She asked as she shakingly got out of his arms. She had a perfectly good carriage that could be used instead of flying.

"Then we would have to miss dinner. You will get used to it soon-"

"Do not bring that sappy shit inside of my cave. It is bad enough that you didn’t marry a powerful woman as I told you to, but now you’ve beco pathetic like all those other fools in love. It’s like soone threw a love potion on the heartless brute. Co inside. I want to see what Anne’s daughter looks like," Sybil said, remaining in the dark so her appearance would not scare Alia.

"Hello Sybil," Alia greeted the witch. She walked further into the cave with Killian right behind her. It was hard to see in the cave as there were no torches or lanterns placed around. Alia assud it was because witches feared fire. If not for Killian being with her, Alia would never walk into a dark cave where a witch awaited her.

"You certainly sll like Anne so there is no denying you are her daughter. I would say you look a bit like her when she was your age, but Anne was prettier. A sha you took after your father a little. His ugliness ruined the wonderful looks you could have had."

Alia did not like her father, but she wouldn’t go to say that he was an ugly man. She had a feeling the witch just said this because she disliked her mother’s life in the castle.

"Sybil, bring so light to the cave before I set it on fire-"

"What is it with you and fire?" Sybil screeched.

"Well, I am a demon," Killian stated the obvious. "Alia cannot see in the darkness and I would rather she not have to strain her eyes to see you. Are you hiding because you are ugly?"

"Killian," Alia tapped him for the rude comnt. "We are here for her help. You cannot insult her," she whispered.

"Sybil is ugly after all the spells she has used," Killian said to defend his words. It wasn’t an insult since it was the truth.

"I will not be afraid of you, Sybil. Nothing can scare

more than the demon in the library. Please co out of the dark," Alia said, looking around to see if she could find the witch in the midst of the darkness.

"Neither of you can order

around. I shall remain in the dark," Sybil replied and soon after, torches lit up to give the cave a little light. "I don’t like to be seen by anyone except for my sisters. Your husband never respects it. The potion to help you with sleeping has not finished brewing yet. The two of you are early. Isn’t there sothing to do as King and Queen of the north? Useless titles."

"I could not wait to hear what you told Killan about my mother. About her being alive. If she is, where is she now?" Alia asked. This was all that mattered to her.

"That, I cannot tell you. Your mother has made no effort to co to tell you she is alive. She needs ti to get over her current predicant. She’s afraid that you won’t like what she has beco. Those are her words, not mine. They are preserving her body so her soul can be placed back in its rightful body and be the Anne you rember," Sybil said as exactly as it was told to her.

"You’re playing with death to be so bold to want to put her soul back in her body. There is a great punishnt for what you are doing. Only Gods ss around with death and bring soone back to life. You care for her more than I realised," Killian said as they were risking their own lives for Anne.

It was odd for creatures like witches who only stuck together with their sisters, those by and not of blood, but even then, witches were quick to betray each other. The witches taking care of Anne were acting like she was not only one of them, but as if they were truly her mothers.

"It is like my mother to suffer alone and keep

in the dark. I don’t care what she looks like now and if she is dangerous, I will have Killian near to protect ," Alia replied, desperate to see her mother once more.

"You must think how it must be for her. To for even a second want to hurt her daughter because of this new craving she has for human flesh. It was not a good feeling for

as your husband. Letters back and forth to each other should suffice until she is normal," Killian suggested since one small urge to attack Alia would have Anne wanting to kill herself. "As normal as soone brought back to life could be."

"Right, I forgot how it would affect her to want to eat . I am fine with letters until we find a way that my own mother will not want to eat . It is bad enough I already have to worry about it happening with my husband," Alia side-eyed Killian. "So Sybil will-"

"Sybil will do nothing." Sybil refused to be walking around delivering ssages. "What the hell do you two take

for? A carrier pigeon? That journey to see your mother and my sisters is not an easy one-"

"You made it back in ti to start the potion before sunset. It could not have been far, Sybil. I will give you a piece of my wing if you do it," Killian offered, knowing Sybil would not reject this. She always needed sothing in return.

Sybil smiled as she thought about the potion she could make. "Let

find the Queen so paper for her to get started," she replied.
