Chapter 167: Chapter 167
"Do you know if the n and won wanting to join my side have arrived at the castle?" Alia asked Gina as they hurried off to the room she t with the dressmaker for her wedding dress.
"I am not sure. No one inford
of it. To be honest, no one informs
of anything. They are always looking at
like I am so kind of bug. If they are here soone should co to you since you have to do the picking. Or we can send one of your guards to see," Gina replied.
Alia looked over her shoulder at the two n following behind her and Gina. "No, I don’t want to create an opening for soone to attack when there is just one guard. I-Cyrus?" She stopped walking when she spotted him hurrying down the hall.
Alia was surprised to see that he was still in the castle as she believed he left with Jahi.
"Why are you so late? She could have been murdered in your absence," Gina spoke up before Alia could. She knew Alia would be nice to Cyrus but that did not an she had to be.
"I apologize for not being on ti," Cyrus apologized right away.
"You told her I wanted her gone, didn’t you? You should have waited for
to do it so she wouldn’t blow up at you. This is the first ti you have ever been late so I won’t be angry but keep in mind, I don’t have many people I can trust with my life. It might co across as insensitive but as my guard, I need to co before your problems," Alia said in a stern voice.
She normally let things slide back in the Blackwell kingdom but things were different here. There were too many people who had not taken well to her presence yet and she needed Cyrus. She knew he would risk his life for her which was sothing she couldn’t say about the n he picked to guard her.
"I suppose I have so part to bla in your business blowing up," Alia added, acknowledging her part in all of it. "It won’t happen again in the future. We are going to try on my wedding dress and then I want to pick out people to protect and serve . Today will be quite busy since the wedding is tomorrow so I hope you have eaten already."
Alia continued to walk in the direction of the room where the dressmaker was waiting for her. She stepped to the side to avoid Cyrus.
Gina wished Alia didn’t let Cyrus off the hook so easily. The three of them needed to stick together to ensure Alia was safe but he was almost two hours late. It was like he was itching for Killian to take notice of this and remove him from Alia’s guard.
A few minutes later, Alia entered the room with Gina while Cyrus and the other two n remained outside. This made Alia note that she needed a female guard to join her for monts like this when she needed to get undressed and Cyrus could not co inside.
"Princess, thank you for finally showing up. I was beginning to think you didn’t want to alter your wedding dress," said Ravana the dressmaker.
Alia ignored the sass in Ravana’s voice and replied, "Breakfast was served a little late so it pushed back everything else. I didn’t an to waste your ti."
Alia walked to an empty chair and sat down to listen to what process was made with the dress and what they needed to do after this point. She rembered Killian’s words from last night telling her not to let the dressmaker do as she pleased. This ti, she didn’t plan to.
"This wedding was a rushed job for
and there were so many dresses I had to put on hold for the actual queen in the underworld so-"
"Would you like to be replaced?" Alia genuinely asked. "I don’t want to take you away from your other job. I am sure I can find another dressmaker quickly or use one of my own that I have never worn before. You are not irreplaceable."
Ravana was taken aback by the attitude the princess was coming out the gate with. The last ti they t Alia was quiet and listened to what Ravana planned when it ca to the dress. Now it seed like Alia ca to be anything but quiet.
’This human,’ Ravana thought, clenching her fist to hide her claws. She did not wish to find herself in trouble with Killian but she could hardly hide her urge to kill the woman in her presence. ’Did soone fill her head?’ She wondered.
"There is no need for
to be replaced when I have already started on the dress. I am only thinking of the work I will be behind on if both of us are not on ti. Please," Ravana pointed at the dress. "Co try it on and tell
what you think."
Alia remained in her seat and asked, "Did you alter the dress to fit my body? I know we both saw that it was too tight and I can’t possibly lose weight in a day. No, I don’t plan to lose weight in a day."
"The dress is the sa size as when you tried it on yesterday. You can fit into it princess if you do not sit around and skip out on a few things at dinner. This is the size that I make for all my custors. Perhaps it is because my kind tends to have slender bodies and if they are larger it is from their muscles," Ravana replied.
"I am not your other custors. Change the size by this evening or I won’t wear this dress. Frankly, I don’t buy this foolish story of your custors being this size. You should know that I have dealt with catty won all my life. I was trying to be nice to you but you made it hard for
to continue playing nice," Alia said, not biting her tongue this ti.
She picked up yesterday that Ravana was one of those people who didn’t like Killian picking a Blackwell and tried to show a bit of herself to Ravana to change her opinion but that didn’t work.
"You don’t like , right?" Alia asked and she wanted an honest answer.
"No," Ravana replied sowhat glad the princess opened the floor for this to be said. When she took interest in making dresses, she never expected to be making one for a Blackwell princess let alone for the very sa princess to beco queen of the demons in this realm. "Your kind does not belong here."
"And yet here I am. If you have a problem with it, take it up with Killian. He’s the one who thought of this union, not . Life in the Blackwell castle was starting to beco bearable. From this mont on, we will do things my way-"
"Or what?" Ravana interrupted Alia with an unamused expression.
Alia pretended to think about it. "Well, Killian did bring up the wonderful idea of having your head. Luckily, I don’t need anyone dying right before my wedding. Though I am sure he has been running around killing others when he disappears for an entire day. There is nothing I can do to you but I am sure you will take his threat seriously."
Ravana couldn’t hide her shock and fear of Killian wanting to kill her. She didn’t doubt that it was true because of the way Alia talked to her. Alia spoke as if she had sothing to use against Ravana. "His threat isn’t going to make
like you," she replied.
"I don’t want it to. I would rather you co to like
on your own. His threat is to remind you that there are not to be any gas played during this ti. You might hate
but I can bet my tiara you accepted this job because it does good for your na. I have quickly learned that all of you want to be close to Killian. Play nice with
and you will remain near him," Alia said, hinting that Ravana should beco one of her people.
Ravana grinned as she started to see Alia in a whole new light. Turns out the princess was foolish as she thought. Didn’t an she now liked her but Ravana could acknowledge how smart Alia was to use Killian to get others to listen to her. She did it subtly.
"If you want
to like you, I advise you to not play nice in a castle inhabited by demons. We can’t help but be attracted to people who know how to get what they want from others. Let the devious side I am now seeing you have started to show. I will get to work on altering the dress to suit you. Excuse ," Ravana bowed.
"What just happened?" Gina asked Alia. She didn’t speak in a hushed tone since Ravana would still hear her.
"We are starting to see eye to eye," Alia answered.
