Chapter 145: Chapter 145

Alia wished her mind would stop acting a fool beside Killian going to bed without a shirt. This wasn’t the first or second ti she had seen him without a shirt. He was shirtless many tis in the Blackwell kingdom. ’I’m starting to understand why I shouldn’t have been judging the maids having sex with the castle guards in dark corners. These n have bodies out of this world,’ Alia thought but then shook her head.

"Is there sothing wrong?" Killian’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

Alia wasn’t aware he was watching her. It was embarrassing to think he saw her staring at him like he was a piece of at. Technically he was but still. "No. I was thinking if I should go back into the closet to give you space to get undressed. Do you have to go for a shirt to sleep in?"

"No. I prefer to sleep without a shirt. Sotis with pants but I will be modest in front of you. You know princess with where you are now it will be hard to not give into lust or other sins. How many tis must I say the things you care about in that kingdom are not frowned upon here? You can stare at

without feeling it," Killian said, acknowledging that he had in fact caught her staring at him.

Alia’s cheeks ward up. "I was not staring at you."

"One thing for sure you are not that good with lying in a mont like this. You should work on your lying skills. Make it to the point that you believe your words are the truth. There are demons here who can pick up on your lies and allow you to speak, burying yourself in a hole before they admit to knowing you were lying," said Killian.

"What can’t demons do? This is double the stress I had back ho but I will survive. I am going to bed first. Is there a side you care to sleep on?" She asked, trying to prolong it a second more. She was thankful to be soon knocked out by him and wouldn’t have to deal with any awkwardness.

"It is all the sa for . Have you never slept in the sa bed as soone before? Even another woman?"

"My mother or sotis Gina has rested her head against the bed but nothing more. I never had any sleepovers or anything of the sort and I rarely allowed anyone in my room even as a child. Not that I needed to because it was heavily ntioned I should not have my guest in my room. Specifically, n since I shouldn’t want my future husband to think I wasn’t pure," Alia rolled her eyes.

She continued to say, "I rebelled against that rule for Cyrus and let him into my room. Sotis there were days I felt like soone was out to get

and the only person I could trust was Cyrus. I owe a lot to Cyrus for protecting

and kind of being my safety blanket which is why I hope you can be nice to him. Before you, he was my protector."

"Seems like I should be grateful to him. What about ? Maids saw

entering your bedroom at one point. Were you scolded for it?" Killian asked.

Alia removed the blanket from the right side of the bed and laid down. "Why? We were engaged at that point and who would have the balls to tell you to get out of my bedroom but ? Your na made exempt."

"I will trust Cyrus but not the woman he has brought into my castle and neither should you. Her anger towards you is evident no matter how she tries to hide it. You should never turn your back to her. It would be better to send her out of the castle," Killian suggested. Jahi was a problem they could easily get rid of now before she finds herself dead since she certainly did not harm Alia while he was still breathing.

"I am aware I cannot trust her but if I send her away now, Cyrus would want to follow but I need him now. I have a task for Jahi to complete before I think of sending her away. If you could find a ho near the castle for her to reside in when I feel like she is becoming too much of a problem, that would be helpful. Is there any news about Agramon?"

"None other than him currently in the underworld. He must be sharing the news of our engagent to the devil. It won’t be long before the devil cos up to scold

for having others complaining," Killian said, imagining how frustrated and on the brink of coming up to this top world the devil must be right now.

Alia forgot all about her fears from a mont ago and wasn’t scared as Killian got into bed. She was now concerned about eting the devil. There were many scary myths about the man and though she wished to see him first instead of believing tales, she couldn’t help being afraid of eting him. The most powerful in the underworld could not be a fun person to et with.

"The devil won’t ever try to kill

or you know, drag

down to the underworld or sothing right? Since you say he has a wife who was once normal like ," said Alia.

Killian laid on his side, highly entertained by Alia thinking the devil would bother himself to drag anyone to the underworld. If you belonged in the underworld, you would end up there regardless so there was no reason the devil was going to drag you there when he could simply wait. Ti didn’t matter to powerful demons.

"You are worrying for nothing. You should be more concerned about the won here who are requesting to have a private mont with you. To greet to know the future queen but-"

"It is not their intention to get to know ," Alia finished for him. She knew there would be a ti she would have to speak with the won with status here. She just wasn’t expecting it so soon. "I will et with them after the wedding."

As a Blackwell princess, they would not acknowledge her title since they would hardly care about human royalty but as Killian’s wife and king of the north, they would not be able to easily dismiss her.

"Are there any won you are close to, Killian? That I can develop a friendship or at least a beneficial relationship where I would have help against these won?" Alia asked. As strong and hard to break as she was, it was always best to have an ally.

"This is one or two that would help you once I ask. I will send for them to attend dinner tomorrow night. Are you ready to sleep?" He asked, ready to knock her out. "Where are those little fairytale books you were reading? Want

to read one to you?"

Alia glared at Killian because of his teasing tone. "I don’t need you reading anything to . Just do what you do and send

to sleep. Hey!" She exclaid, grabbing his hand before he could reach out. "Would it kill you to give

a heads up? There is a little pang that rings throughout my body when you do it suddenly. Give

a countdown," Alia said, releasing his hand now.

She fixed her hair so it would not bother her during the night and laid comfortably on her pillow.

"Are you aware of how much you move around at night?" Killian asked, enjoying how her nose flared.

"No. I don’t know if it is so ability you have but regular folks cannot stare at themselves while they sleep. And I find it unlikely that I move in my sleep. I wake up in the sa position."

"That is what makes it intriguing. You roll around like you are on so adventure in your sleep but you slowly roll back in place right before you wake up. I won’t find trouble sleeping with you right? Like getting kicked in the gut because you are fighting soone on your adventure," Killian teased her, completely lying about the situation. She slept like a log thanks to what he does.

Alia contemplated strangling Killian or just letting him put her to sleep. If she tried killing him, the man would just be amused and she would be up with him later. She decided to go with the second option. "Just put

to sleep, Killian. I have no-"

Killian touched her forehead without warning, watching her body relax into the bed now that she was fast asleep. She would certainly try to kill him in the morning for doing it without warning but he wouldn’t mind. Instead, he watched her sleep peacefully for a couple of minutes before vanishing to another location to deal with a growing issue.
