Chapter 113: Chapter 113

"Of course, he would be a part of the slave trade," Alia muttered when she realized who was putting up a fight from Killian taking his slaves.

"You know him?"

"Not personally but I know of him. He’s Luke Fisher, a popular rchant in town. He’s able to find all sorts of goods around the kingdom or outside of it and bring them here to sell. My father used to acquire his services for finding good wine and jewelry. His entire wealth was built off of trading and selling things you would not find another person with. That’s why he’s putting up such a fight," Alia inford Killian.

"I am ssing with his business. One of the n we captured inford

that got their slaves from this man. I have a feeling he is the one in charge of the trade. If he did dealings with your father, he must have gotten my people from your father to sell," said Killian.

Alia sighed, not surprised her father would hand off the people he captured after invading the north to one of his friends. "Let’s save ourselves so ti and just bring in all of my father’s friends. They were all close to him because they benefited from the laws not applying to them."

Alia felt Killian get off the horse behind her then he held out his arms to lift her down. However, Alia slid off the horse on her own. "I’ve ridden many horses to know how to get down but thank you. There are too many people here," she said after looking out at the large crowd that had gathered.

It was too dangerous for the townspeople to be nearby when a fight could break out at any mont. If the fight were to reach where the crowd stood and everyone started to run around to get out of the way, a lot of people could get seriously hurt.

"Stay close," Killian ordered Alia after he tried the horse to a pole for it to stay until they were finished.

By now, many had taken notice of their arrival and were watching every move they made. So people wanted to see the interaction between the two to see if marriage was possible, so feared for Alia’s life, and so cursed Killian. Others questioned how Alia could look so calm next to a dangerous man.

A path was created as Alia and Killian walked to the gates that had not yet opened for his n to go inside and take out the slaves. No one was brave enough to take the chance to attack Killian when it was just him and Alia. They had not forgotten he had gained the na war demon over the years.

"Killian," Alastor greeted his king but paid no attention to Alia. He still did not view her as his queen to be and he did not care about her title here. A human princess was not important to him.

Alia took no offense to it and looked around at the n on opposite sides of the gates.

Killian on the other hand was not pleased by how Alastor disregarded the woman who would beco queen and be the mother of his children. Regardless of how Alastor felt respect was ant to be given to Alia.

Normally he wouldn’t give a damn about who was watching and use whatever force to make Alastor show Alia respect but he was trying not to look violent before her. Not when he was trying to make her comfortable around him. It didn’t stop his hand from twitching at the thought of choking Alastor until he might change another color.

"Alastor," Killian practically growled at the man before him.

Not afraid of Killian like others were, Alastor stared back at his friend.

"There’s no ti for you two to have a ntal battle. I will make people like him respect

with my own. You do not need to force him to acknowledge," Alia said to Killian. She already knew she had a lot of work to do to make his people like her or at least respect her enough to realize that she was Killian’s wife and not going anywhere.

Alastor was surprised the young woman did not take this mont to have Killian defend her na and presence. If she had whined and cried about being ignored, he would have disliked her even more.

"Still, it won’t be tolerated and the matter will be treated later. What has happened since the last update," Killian shifted the topic to the primary concern.

"That fool shot a warning arrow at us. He’s still not willing to give up the slaves. I told you we need to use force instead of bullshitting and trying to look good for people we do not give a damn about. Our people could be getting hurt while we are talking," Alastor inford Killian with anger in his voice.

Killian was a demon who enjoyed the sight of blood more than anyone Alastor knew. He didn’t see the point in Killian pretending to be soone else in front of the princess or refraining from killing anyone because she wanted peace. If everyone wanted peace they should have just freed the people taken from the north.

"I want to have a word with him," Alia said.

She wanted to speak with Luke first and if she could not put so sense into his head, she would allow Killian to use force no matter who got hurt. If Luke was one of the people at the head of the slave trade, he deserved to be punished.

Alastor didn’t see what difference her talking would do and said, "He’s not going to-"

"We’ll do as she wants," Killian took Alia’s hand and walked towards the gates where his n stood with their weapons.

Alia saw Luke sitting up from a chair behind a bunch of n once he saw who had co to visit him.

"Oh ho ho. Has the princess co to visit ? How did you know you were just the person I wanted to see?" Luke grinned, showing off his yellow teeth. "You are the one behind all of my friend’s troubles these days. Why couldn’t you have minded your business? Your father did not mind the slave trade."

"But I do. It is wrong to sell or own another person, Luke. I will see to it you are not locked up if you free everyone in your hold and provide information about where the others are. Both the people from the north and this kingdom!" Alia yelled as Luke was a good distance away from her.

Luke was not taking any risk in case one of Killian’s n would use an arrow to kill him. He sat behind many n who had to die to avoid him getting killed.

"No can do, princess. You have promised to give us back our money but I am afraid you do not have enough to reimburse

for the losses I will have if I give you what I own. There’s no reason for blood to be spilled on such a beautiful day. You have packing to do and a wedding to prepare for. Make these n leave and I will find you the most beautiful dress in all the lands. Deal?"

Alia found Luke to be unbelievable for thinking she would let him off the hook in exchange for a wedding dress. She could be dying from thirst and Luke could be the only person with a glass of water but she would refuse it. That was how much she disliked him. "There will be no deals, Luke. The people you have must be set free. This is my last warning to you."

"Warning?" Luke chuckled and slapped the back of one of his n to laugh along with him. So far he had been able to stop the northerners from stepping foot on his land. He found it hard to understand how this kingdom had lost against the north. "Go back to the castle and play with dresses, princess. Take that wild brute back with you."

Alia glanced at her side and saw that Killian had not reacted to the insult. This made her worry about what could co next. "So there’s no way to make you peacefully give up the people in your hold?" She asked.

"None," Luke shook his head.

’"Very well," Alia sighed, wishing she did not have to co to this but Luke gave her no choice. She could not advocate for peace when there were lives at stake. "Killian, forget being peaceful. You can kill anyone who stands in your way from freeing the people on the inside. Keep Luke alive for a while to give you the na of everyone involved," Alia said loud enough for Luke and everyone else watching to hear.

Killian ran his tongue under his teeth where small fangs were present. Now he could have so fun. Instead of having his n deal with this alone, he wanted to join in to capture the man who called him a brute.
