Chapter 110: Chapter 110
"This wish to speak to . I cannot just sit back and ignore them," Alia pulled her hand away from Killian to wipe her eyes. She was not going to cry over a simple situation like this. "You are not stopping ," she said.
Alia took the basket to a box with a lock and walked away to look for the necklace with a key hidden inside of it.
"They are here for sothing that I did but as they cannot yell at , they are taking their frustrations out on you. Do not leave this room, princess. I will not tell you again," said Killian.
Alia turned around to face him and asked, "Or what? You may be my future husband but I don’t take orders from you or anyone else. I will visit the people to let them voice their concerns."
"You will just be yelled at because they want to keep slaves. Right now I am very tempted to kill every last man and woman standing outside the gates," Killian confessed, causing Alia to turn around. "Even as a demon I have never enslaved anyone. The only slaves in the underworld are damned souls being punished. What gives a simple folk the right to own others? The fact they will yell at you also fuels my hatred."
Alia couldn’t find herself disagreeing with Killian’s words but she did not want to be viewed as a princess hiding away in the castle. Regardless of if the people planned to yell at her, she would hear them out. Then it would be ti for them to hear how she had no intentions of changing her mind about the slaves being set free.
"What do you think I should do then?" Alia asked, deciding to hear him out. In the future they needed to be on the sa page so why not start now?
"Do nothing and let
take care of freeing everyone enslaved. You are a princess, not so regular person on the street they can yell for and you co out to be yelled at so more. There are n in court who should go out there and defuse the situation. You go out there and let them yell at you once, they’ll be comfortable enough to do it again. Instead of speaking, act upon your words."
"What do you an?" Alia asked.
"You’ve made it very clear slaves were ant to be set free but I checked and found out only a handful of slaves were brought to the castle. Many of your people did not listen to your order then so what makes you think they will listen to you now? You are about to be a queen of people far more dangerous than the ones here. Set an example that your words are final. Join
in pulling out all the rats hiding slaves," Killian offered his hand.
Initially, he planned to take care of the matter alone but now he wanted Alia to join him to carry out her order.
Alia didn’t see how she would be of any help but she accepted Killian’s hand. She had much to learn from a man like him and appreciated how he was willing to help her. "I’m sorry for being so stubborn sotis. I will try fixing it in the future and listening to what you have to say first," she apologized.
"There was no need for you to apologize, princess. I enjoy that stubborn side of you who is not afraid to speak or throw a shoe at anyone."
"When will you let the shoe thing go? I believe that shoe should be treated well and put on display as it made a man like you change his plans. Maybe it knocked so of my sense into you. I believe I have already packed it up in one of the boxes for the north. So, what now? Where do we go from here if I am not going to the gates? Are you planning on taking
to where you have found slaves?" Alia asked.
She wanted to see the conditions the people were in and offer them any help. Whether it be dical, financial, or help to locate a family who would be looking for them.
"There is a ho close to the town and castle where my n have located slaves but they have not gone inside to retrieve them yet. The owner has sent out n to keep my warriors from going in."
Alia didn’t see why Killian didn’t just attack when his side was sure to win. "Why didn’t you just attack? You have an advantage with demons."
Killian liked how Alia knew that he would clearly win. "There is a little problem. My future wife wants peace and to avoid showing the innocent people watching the show bloodshed, I have been holding back. Had it been sowhere secluded we would have attacked by now."
"I see. Are we leaving now? I need to hide my books first if anyone tries to sneak into my room while I am away. These books are quite valuable so if you see
with them in the future, please treat them well. Where did I put the key?" Alia let go of Killian’s hand for a mont to look for the key. "I hope I did not pack the necklace up already."
Killian looked at Loki lazing around in the room. There was hardly any need for her to lock up her fairytale books when Loki was here to attack any intruders. He also had n placed around Alia to keep her safe and to inform him of her location at all tis or when pets had gathered around to harm her.
"Push them under the bed for now. Loki will protect them. He looks as if he is sleeping but he is not, and he would not miss the chance to bite soone for you. The books will be safe. Let us leave before sothing bad happens. Loki, let no one enter the room," Killian ordered the wolf.
Alia wondered if they could trust Loki after he showed no reaction to Killian’s words. "Please," she said and saw Loki open his eyes to look at her. She figured that was his way of saying okay. "I need to warn Gina to not let anyone step foot inside or they will lose their foot. Wait," Alia realized sothing. "Are we going out the gates to get there?"
"Do you want everyone to see that I can fly?" Killian sarcastically asked. Had it not been dayti or if Alia was not spotted in her room, he could have flown or teleported them there but there was a guard who already saw Alia there. "We will take a horse outside. Why? Are you afraid the people will throw sothing at you?"
"Well, I was thinking that if I was not going to speak with them I don’t want to see them at all. They’re going to be angrier seeing the two of us ride past them, completely ignoring their presence. I hope you protect
from anything thrown my way," Alia patted his chest as she passed by him. "I love this dress and do not want it to be ruined."
Killian found sothing alluring about the way Alia spoke to him. Not only was he intrigued by her but he had started to desire her. "I will see to it no one ruins your dress, princess. I will personally kill anyone who dares to throw sothing at you."
Alia tried to turn around to ask Killian sothing but his large fra was behind her, stopping her from turning around. Warmth spread across her face and neck as she felt how close his body was to her. He was such a handso man and his body was that of a great warrior. She was going to marry such a tempting man. Perhaps she would have saved her mind and not read the books Gina liked to hide under her bed.
"You don’t have to keep calling , princess. We are in a place where you can use my first na. I have Cyrus and Gina call
by my first na when we are alone. I have been calling you Killian many tis instead of King Bune. Please do the sa for ," Alia said in an attempt to distract herself from what she thought about their closeness.
"Very well Alia. Aren’t you going to open the door or do you wish for us to stay like this? I am now reminded to warn you of watching how you speak in public with demons all around. Questions about how big I am should be done in private," he called her out on the conversation she had with Gina.
Alia blushed, embarrassed for being caught. She thought he was far away and would not be able to hear her. Unless another demon had inford him?
"I have brought you a gift to help you not embarrass yourself further," Killian said followed by a gold necklace that was then dangled in front of Alia for her to see. "A necklace with a spell from a witch to make it hard for anyone to hear your words."
