The three assassins dashed out at the sa ti. The first one was faster than the rest as he imdiately appeared in front of lvin. He thrust his dagger forward, attempting to pierce lvin's throat. lvin dodged with a little difficulty as he tried to regain his bearings.

The other two assassins had already appeared behind him, completely entrapping him in their midst. As the four individuals were fighting, none of them noticed the black shadow that swiftly escaped into the darkness of the night.

Adrian had taken advantage of when all four of them were engrossed in the fight to quietly sneak out from behind the shelf. Adrian appeared in the courtyard of lvin's house and found multiple bodies on the ground belonging to both the guards and the assassins.

He imdiately dashed out after surveying the area and did not find anyone. He didn't know if they had all killed each other or if so people had run away. He imdiately dashed out of the courtyard into the empty street.

The commotion had already scared people away, and he could only find a few city guards running toward lvin's manor. They had heard about the commotion and were going to find out what was going on. After avoiding them and running through so streets, Adrian took off his hood as he slowed down his pace and blended into the crowd.

He walked at a leisurely pace as if he had just been taking a stroll and had not just robbed soone. He kept walking for about two hours before finally arriving at the rented courtyard. He entered the room to be greeted by the two kids. Olivia ran up to hug him while shouting excitedly

"Big brother!!!"

Adrian smiled and pinched the chubby cheeks of the cute little girl while replying with a smile.

"Is anything wrong, Liv?"

Adrian and Jayson recently started calling her by her nickna, which was Liv.

"No, I just missed you"

She replied with a smile. His heart ward while patting her little head.

Jayson also ca up to him and asked him curiously

"Were you able to sort out your matters?"

Jayson was not as naive as Olivia. He knew that Adrian had to take care of so issues. That was why they were still in this town.

"Yeah, I'm done. We can leave tomorrow."

anwhile, at lvin's manor, lvin was fighting furiously for his life. His body was covered with wounds as he repeatedly punched the assassins trying to kill him. His heart was currently filled with anger. Anger towards the assassins in front of him, who were trying to kill him. Anger towards the person who sent them. And anger towards the one who stole his storage ring.

He wouldn't be in such a bad state if he had his storage ring. Such thoughts made him even angrier as he swore in his heart that if he were to survive this, he would hunt the bastard down.

His anger clouded his judgnt, causing him to make a fatal mistake.

After dodging the attack of the first assassin and blocking the second with a punch, he failed to notice the third right behind him. All the hair on his body stood up as He suddenly felt a sense of danger. He felt a sharp pain while a wet feeling spread throughout his back.

He turned around to find assassin number 3 with a dagger plunged into his back.

He opened his mouth to speak but couldn't muster out anything. The dagger which has pierced through his heart was twisted and brought out. His body fell to the ground as his face, which was filled with despair and unwillingness, finally stopped moving. Alchemist lvin was dead.

The assassins, who were quite happy with their handiwork, ca to inspect the body. Their expressions changed when they couldn't find his storage ring. They searched all over the body, but there was nothing on him. They suddenly realized why lvin looked so unprepared and was yelling at them when they first entered.

This ant that sobody beat them to lvin and robbed him first. They frantically searched the room, hoping that lvin had just hidden it sowhere. However, it was only a futile effort. They couldn't find anything worthwhile except so pills.

They were angry and rightfully so. They had worked so hard to kill lvin while soone else reaped the benefits. However, they didn't have ti to lant.

They had to leave the manor begrudgingly, as they knew that it wouldn't be long before their commotion attracted the attention of the city guards.

In a luxurious manor on the other side of town, the sound of glass breaking could be heard as a furious roar sounded as the aura of a peak-stage Foundation Establishnt realm erupted through the room.

"What the hell do you an you couldn't find it?"

This was alchemist Alfred's manor. Standing before him were the three assassins with their heads lowered, trying to withstand the pressure that was currently crushing them.

Much to the surprise of everyone, this attack on lvin was coordinated by Alfred.

His usual warm and kind visage had crumbled as he was exuding fierce killing intent that shouldn't be found in an alchemist. After finding out about the auction, he already had a plan in mind.

He wanted the silvereye grass, but he didn't want to pay the sky-high price that he knew it would be auctioned for.

Therefore, he decided he would simply kill and steal it from lvin. How was he so sure that lvin would be the one who would end up purchasing it at the auction? Well, it's simple really. They were both the only two peak rank 2 alchemists in Roser City.

Even if soone else won it, it would eventually co back into the hands of either one of them, except, of course, the person went to a larger city to find a higher-grade alchemist.

But who would take that risk? Aside from the fact that it would be a long journey, it would also be extrely dangerous.

He knew that though it was tempting, the family heads of the big families would not want to spend too much money on a herb only to have to spend more to hire an alchemist.

Therefore, lvin was the final conclusion. The only reason why he had even bid at the auction was to avoid suspicion, as everybody would be expecting him and lvin to fight over the silvereye grass.
