When Zhou Lin brought out water and dicine, Cheng Zhiwei had already climbed out of bed on her own.

Zhou Lin placed the cup on the table and, with one hand, pulled her back into his arms, his voice deep and slightly angry, "You’re running a fever, what are you wandering around for?"

Cheng Zhiwei felt dizzy, but was still stubborn about not staying there, "I said, it’s none of your business. I want to go back now."

"Go back and infect the kids?" Zhou Lin ignored her struggles, lifted her up, carried her back into the master bedroom, and pressed her down on the bed with the quilt.

Cheng Zhiwei was already irritated by Zhou Lin, and feeling uncomfortable, her temper flared up, "Zhou Lin, what do you really want? Still feeling unsatisfied because you didn’t get what you wanted that day?"

She briskly threw off the quilt, her lips curving into a scornful, mocking smile, "Do you want it now?"

Zhou Lin’s large palm tightened around the quilt, pulling it back over Cheng Zhiwei. He leaned down slightly, his forehead nearly touching hers, his eyes restraining anger.

"You have a fever. I won’t argue with you, but you’d better cooperate and take your dicine and sleep," Zhou Lin brought over the cup and the dicine, his expression mild, "Who knows, if you listen, I might just send you back tomorrow morning."

Cheng Zhiwei felt as though her chest was stuffed with cotton, making it uncomfortable, "Zhou Lin, listen? Haven’t I always been obedient?"

Being obedient led to being hurt by him at will.

She leaned against the headboard, a weak cold laugh escaping her, "You forgive Seo Zhenzhen ti and again and still expect to be obedient. What, do you want to embrace both sides?"

Upon ntioning Seo Zhenzhen, Zhou Lin’s expression turned cold, "I really didn’t know about this. I have already asked Secretary Zhang to investigate."

"In all of Yucheng, who doesn’t know you? If it wasn’t for your express orders, would they dare to let her go?" Cheng Zhiwei beca agitated, "Nothing but lies."

Zhou Lin’s expression remained calm, "Take your dicine first."

"I won’t," Cheng Zhiwei coldly turned away, "You promised before, you wouldn’t appear in front of and the children anymore. What does this an now?"

She was already feverish, and getting angry made her condition worse.

"If you feel that that night I didn’t satisfy you as I said I would, I can still agree to spend another night with you, but Zhou Lin, please stick to our agreent. I already have a boyfriend."

As her words fell, Zhou Lin also heavily set down the water cup on the nightstand.

He leaned down, gripped her chin, forcing her to look at him, his restrained gentleness slowly crumbling, a fierce rage erging, "Have you fallen for him?"

Cheng Zhiwei didn’t avoid his gaze and t it head-on, her temper flaring, she frankly said, "Yes, I have fallen for him. He’s patient and gentle to , respects any decision I make, and is good to Yangyang and Xingxing. He would make a qualified husband and father."

The fearless challenge shone in her eyes.

Every word was a challenge to Zhou Lin’s nerves, especially the last phrases — husband and father — which violently shredded his rationality.

He pulled her in, brutally bit her lips, inch by inch pried her teeth apart, her hands pressed at her sides so she couldn’t escape.

When a man loses it, the strength used is not sothing many can bear.

Cheng Zhiwei was already feverish, and at that mont, she felt as though she was in a burning furnace, being tossed and roasted.

She didn’t know how long had passed when sothing was fed into her mouth, followed by warm water that Zhou Lin transferred into her mouth.

Zhou Lin released her, after a rough struggle, both of them were in disarray. He took out a nightgown, restrained Cheng Zhiwei’s disobedient hands and legs, undressed her, and put it on for her.

Cheng Zhiwei felt faint with anger, her eyes moist with a foggy haze, glaring at him venomously, as if she would bite him the mont he loosened his grip.

This ti, she was truly provoked.

"Why don’t you continue?" Cheng Zhiwei’s voice was hoarse with intense sarcasm as she looked at him.

Zhou Lin wanted to be with her again, but he wouldn’t proceed with soone who was running a fever.

He was just provoked by her words—he felt like he was going crazy, but the scorching warmth of her touch cald him down, so he took advantage of the situation to feed her the fever-reducing dicine.

He ignored her, pulling up the blanket to wrap her tightly, "Once you sweat, you’ll feel better."

He prepared to leave.

The next second, a soft body pounced on him from behind, and burning hands slipped under the hem of his shirt. Zhou Lin was caught off guard and pulled onto the bed.

Black hair cascaded down, tickling his cheeks. Before Zhou Lin could get up, Cheng Zhiwei had already seated herself on top of him, hands braced against his chest.

"If you’re going to do it, continue. What kind of man quits halfway?"

If it wasn’t for her death-bound expression, Zhou Lin would have been very happy.

Unfortunately, he was all too aware of her intentions. She was desperately trying to satisfy him just once, to complete that unfinished transaction.

She wanted to clear the slate completely.

But he wasn’t a pervert.

In the anti, Cheng Zhiwei had already unbuttoned his shirt, fully exposing his chest.

Clearly, she was not one to initiate, and although they had been through ups and downs for six years, their monts of intimacy were few. His body, hidden under his clothes, and her candidness, posed a challenge.

Cheng Zhiwei’s feverish mind found a mont of clarity.

She hesitated, reflecting on whether what she was doing was worth it.

But thinking about his repeated entanglents, she steeled her heart and her gaze hardened again as she leaned down to look at him, "Zhou Lin, I hope you’ll keep your promise and not disturb my life again."

She bent down to kiss him, mimicking his previous actions.

But her movents were indeed awkward and inexperienced.

If it were a ti when their relationship was good, such intimacy would certainly be thrilling.

But now, their relationship was like fire and water.

Cheng Zhiwei’s actions did not make Zhou Lin feel pleasure; instead, it enraged him again.

He gripped her waist, easily pinning her down on the bed, pulling the blanket over them with a sarcastic gaze, "I’m not interested in sick people."

Cheng Zhiwei’s cheeks were unnaturally red, she felt dizzy and had no strength to pounce again.

She simply closed her eyes and remained silent.

The dication took effect, and she fell asleep.

Zhou Lin gently caressed her cheek with his curved fingers, looking down at her peaceful face with a sigh.

Just then, his phone rang. He answered it and then left the master bedroom.

In the living room, Secretary Zhang was waiting, his expression unusually serious, "We’ve verified it. Soone indeed made the call. It was your number, and the voice was yours."

He continued as he started to sweat, "Further investigation revealed that the number was a coded virtual number, and the voice analysis showed it was an imitation of yours."

Secretary Zhang said with sweat forming on his forehead, "Besides that, there are no other clues."

Soone had coded a number identical to Zhou Lin’s and imitated his voice, leading Seo Zhenzhen away.

A troubling and complicated feeling surged forth.
