"Zhiwei, I’m sorry." Xu Tian wept uncontrollably, filled with gratitude as well as guilt.

She had been truly desperate when she blurted out those words, Zhiwei had actually gone to look for Zhou Lin.

How was that different from throwing herself back into the fire pit?

"Did he make any excessive demands on you? Don’t agree to them," Xu Tian asked urgently, truly afraid that because of her, Cheng Zhiwei would be hurt by Zhou Lin once again.

"No." Cheng Zhiwei patted her on the shoulder, "The child is still young; it’s a good thing to bring him ho early. Don’t overthink it."

Xu Tian felt suffocated in her chest, even breathing seed painful, "But you..."

"I’m really fine." Cheng Zhiwei hesitated before adding, "If you’re really worried, I can only say that so far, he’s been doing it voluntarily."

Zhou Lin had already co in. He glanced at Cheng Zhiwei and Xu Tian and said indifferently, "I’ve had soone bring Seo Zhenzhen over."

"Seo Zhenzhen? What is she doing here?" Mother He asked unhappily. One could say that He Lanzhi’s current predicant had a lot to do with Seo Zhenzhen.

The person she disliked the most was Seo Zhenzhen.

"I think, the reason He Lanzhi suddenly needed so much money might have sothing to do with Seo Zhenzhen. Bringing her over is also to clarify things," Zhou Lin explained.

Cheng Zhiwei, however, thought of what he had said earlier about Zhou Ruoki being his child.

Could it be that He Lanzhi thought Zhou Ruoki was his son, which is why she wanted so much money?

Soon, Seo Zhenzhen was brought over.

She had been beaten by Xu Tian in the morning, and at this mont, she looked terrible with a bruised nose and swollen face, her hair untidy and lackluster, appearing as if she had resigned herself to her fate.

"Ah Lin," Seo Zhenzhen called out softly and weakly, "Why have you brought here?"

Zhou Lin slowly walked up to her, his gaze cold and devoid of any emotion, "I just want to ask you, is Zhou Ruoki related to He Lanzhi?"

Seo Zhenzhen’s face changed, guilt flashing in her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure and asked in aggrievent, "Ah Lin, what do you an by that? Do you think Qiqi is related to He Lanzhi?"

"He is the child I carried for ten months before giving birth to him. How can you suspect us like this?" Seo Zhenzhen sobbed, looking pitiable.

Xu Tian clenched her fingers tightly, finally understanding, "He wants the money to give to Zhou Ruoki?"

Zhou Lin simply turned his head, "Call him."

Xu Tian went to grab her phone, her hand shaking uncontrollably. She couldn’t suppress the hatred in her heart, and after a long while, she finally dialed the number.

He Lanzhi’s voice ca from the phone, a dark sneer, "Xu Tian, are you demanding sothing from ?"

He still believed that everything was Xu Tian’s fault, that it was she who had deliberately attracted his parents’ attention and then used marriage as a tool to marry into the He family.

Otherwise, with her background, she wasn’t even worthy to carry his shoes.

Xu Tian looked at Zhou Lin, steadied her emotions, and said to He Lanzhi, "You want the money for Zhou Ruoki, don’t you? He Lanzhi, is Zhou Ruoki your biological son?"

"Is that all you have to say?" He Lanzhi said impatiently.

"Seo Zhenzhen is right here, do you want to ask her yourself who the child really belongs to?" Xu Tian gradually cald down, speaking with more conviction.

She pressed the speakerphone.

"Seo Zhenzhen, tell him, whose child is it?"

There was silence over the phone.

He Lanzhi hadn’t hung up the phone; obviously, he too wanted to know.

Seo Zhenzhen clenched her fists tightly, looking down in distress. She dared not et Zhou Lin’s eyes, nor did she dare to tell He Lanzhi the truth.

"Zhou Lin is here, too, Seo Zhenzhen. There’s only one child that ca out of your stomach; is it Zhou Lin’s or He Lanzhi’s?" Xu Tian pressed, coldly staring at Seo Zhenzhen.

Seo Zhenzhen’s eyes shifted, too guilt-ridden to speak.

"Afraid to admit it? You used He Lanzhi, yet you don’t dare to say the child is his?" Xu Tian intensified her tone, "Could it be that the child is Zhou Lin’s? Did you deliberately let He Lanzhi misunderstand so that he would willingly give you money?"

The normally calm He Lanzhi couldn’t keep her composure any longer, and nearly scread, "Seo Zhenzhen, who is the child’s real father?"

"It’s..." Seo Zhenzhen couldn’t lie to He Lanzhi any longer, because Zhou Lin was here.

If she dared to say the child was He Lanzhi’s, she would face Zhou Lin’s retaliation in turn; if she said the child was Zhou Lin’s, she would lose He Lanzhi.

And, given Zhou Lin’s current disgust for her, without He Lanzhi, she’d have a hard ti moving a step in Yucheng.

She bit her lip in anger, hating Cheng Zhiwei to her core.

It must have been her idea again for Zhou Lin to act this way.

"The father of the child will be revealed with a paternity test," Cheng Zhiwei reminded, "Seo Zhenzhen, hiding and deceiving will do you no good."

"You’re afraid to say it’s Zhou Lin’s child, aren’t you?" Cheng Zhiwei raised her voice on purpose so He Lanzhi could hear it.

He Lanzhi took He Yuming away to exchange him for money, all to secure a good future for Zhou Ruoki.

He did so under the assumption that Zhou Ruoki was his biological son.

Yet Seo Zhenzhen dared not admit it.

A clattering noise ca from the phone, as if sothing had been thrown to the ground.

One could guess that, with He Lanzhi’s personality, finding out she had been deceived would likely drive her mad.

Xu Tian seized the mont, "He Lanzhi, He Yuming is your biological son, your only son, do you understand? Stop the fuss and let him co ho."

A "beep" sound ca from the phone.

The call was disconnected.

Xu Tian suddenly panicked, "Zhiwei, what do we do?"

"Enough," Zhou Lin soothed firmly, "The police should have already tracked his cell phone signal."

Bringing Seo Zhenzhen here served two purposes: to make He Lanzhi realize how outrageously wrong his decisions had been, and second, to locate his cell phone signal.

Xu Tian felt weak at the knees, leaning on Cheng Zhiwei before sitting back down, murmuring a thankful, "Thank you."

She glared at Seo Zhenzhen with clenched teeth, "Seo Zhenzhen, do you have any sense of sha at all? You knew the child wasn’t He Lanzhi’s, yet you still deceived him for your financial sches."

Why did such despicable people exist in the world.

They had to destroy others’ marriages and families.

Seo Zhenzhen stealthily gauged Zhou Lin’s expression, her lips moved, but she couldn’t utter a word.

She knew that she had completely lost.

Because of what had just happened, Zhou Lin would definitely do a paternity test, he would find out the child wasn’t his, he would discover... her secret.

Fear spread throughout her limbs; Seo Zhenzhen was restless.

She wanted to leave this place, but the mont she looked up and t Zhou Lin’s dark, indifferent gaze, full of killing intent,

That was...

In an instant, Seo Zhenzhen felt her breathing beco extrely difficult.

She realized that she needed to leave Yucheng imdiately—no matter what the future held, she had to avoid Zhou Lin’s retaliation for now.

"Ah Lin, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now," Seo Zhenzhen said casually, as if nothing had happened.

But the panic and guilt at the bottom of her eyes betrayed her.
