Cheng Zhiwei felt sorry for Zhou Ruoki, but Zhou Ruoki’s pitiable state was caused by Zhou Lin and Seo Zhenzhen.

As a father, if he doesn’t cherish and care, what right does she, an outsider, have to say anything?

Cheng Zhiwei certainly did not want to raise soone else’s son.

She touched Cheng Xing’s small ear and said lightly, "Zhou Lin, what does that have to do with ?"

Xu Tian’s lips curled up mockingly as she spoke the harsh truth Cheng Zhiwei harbored inside: "Had you known this would happen, why did you ever bother in the first place?"

If only Zhou Lin had had less prejudice and more kindness towards Cheng Zhiwei from the beginning, she wouldn’t have been tornted into depression, let alone loss of mory.

Even more so, their relationship wouldn’t have turned out the way it had today.

"You know very well what kind of person Seo Zhenzhen is, yet you still stayed with her. Just for that reason alone, Zhou Lin, Zhiwei will never forgive you."

These words should have been spoken by Cheng Zhiwei herself, but in front of the children, she did not want to argue about such matters; she didn’t want the children to worry.

After all, Zhou Lin was their father, and that was a fact.

"Tiantian." Cheng Zhiwei spoke up to stop Xu Tian from continuing.

Zhou Lin managed his emotions very well, his expression neither warm nor angry, seemingly unaffected by Xu Tian’s words.

He calmly said, "Alright, I’ll go see dad first and will join you in a bit."

Zhou Chenyuan was staying here.

Cheng Zhiwei made no move to say she would go see him.

She should visit, but not alone with two children. Instead, she should bring Cheng Shang and Guo Cuihua with her.

Xu Tian snorted derisively, "Serves him right."

Cheng Zhiwei looked down, feeling no ripples in her heart, but asked as if in passing, "He Lanzhi has indeed been very good to Zhou Ruoki. Have you ever done a paternity test for them?"

"We did, and there’s no blood relation between them." Xu Tian leaned back on the sofa, looking up at the ceiling and sighing, "If Zhou Ruoki really was his son, I would have kicked him out long ago."

Just thinking of him and Seo Zhenzhen together made her feel disgusted.

...

In the parking lot.

Zhou Ruoki pursed his lips in silence, clearly upset.

He Lanzhi was full of concern and urgency in her eyes, coaxing softly and gently, "Qiqi, mommy will be here soon, are you happy?"

Zhou Ruoki nodded sullenly,

He Lanzhi kissed his cheek and her tone beca more upbeat, "If your dad takes you to see Cheng Zhiwei and those two children again, just call or your mom to co pick you up, okay?"

Zhou Ruoki shook his head, speaking softly, "They didn’t an it."

Even though Cheng Yang didn’t like him, he was certain Cheng Yang didn’t do it on purpose.

He Lanzhi’s eyes flickered with displeasure, but she still spoke amiably, "Qiqi, you can’t be so kind-hearted. It’s easy to be bullied. Listen to Uncle He’s advice, keep a distance from them, they are not good people."

"Uncle He."

"Don’t you want your mom and dad to be with you forever?"

Zhou Ruoki imdiately nodded. Of course, he wanted his mom and dad to always be together, without anger, without quarrels.

He Lanzhi guided him gently, "That Aunt Cheng is the bad person who broke up your mom and dad’s relationship. See, since she appeared, hasn’t your dad stopped paying attention to your mom? He even forbade her from staying at ho."

Zhou Ruoki looked down, saddened.

Aunt Cheng was so kind, and he liked her very much.

But why did it have to be like this?

He Lanzhi noticed the change in his expression and felt a surge of joy inside, praising him, "I knew our Qiqi was the most understanding, you would definitely protect Mom well."

He motivated her, and a few minutes later, Seo Zhenzhen arrived.

She jumped out of the car and rushed over, slapping Zhou Ruoki on the arm and scolding sternly, "Zhou Ruoki, what did I ever do to you for you to run to that bitch Cheng Zhiwei? What, do you want to acknowledge her as your mom? You ungrateful little brat."

Zhou Ruoki shrank back, tears pooling in her eyes, and she whispered softly, "I didn’t, Mom."

He Lanzhi’s expression darkened slightly, "Zhenzhen, Zhou Lin was the one who took the child there, why are you scolding her?"

Seo Zhenzhen frowned, "Why has Ah Lin co to the hospital?"

He Lanzhi replied, "Cheng Zhiwei’s daughter had a fever."

Seo Zhenzhen clenched her fists tightly, fuming. Zhou Lin had just driven her out of the Zhou family and now, he had shalessly accompanied Cheng Zhiwei to the hospital.

Seconds later, seemingly struck by a thought, her attitude softened again as she embraced Zhou Ruoki, "Qiqi, Mom didn’t an to yell at you, Mom is just worried about you. You won’t be angry with Mom, right?"

Zhou Ruoki gently leaned on Seo Zhenzhen’s shoulder and shook her head slightly.

Seo Zhenzhen hugged her, getting back into the car and drove to her own apartnt.

Once ho, she whispered softly, "Qiqi, would you be willing to help Mom with a favor?"

Zhou Ruoki nodded, bewildered.

Seo Zhenzhen’s smile beca even more tender as she stroked Zhou Ruoki’s little head, "Qiqi is so wonderful."

He Lanzhi felt a sinking feeling inside, an ominous premonition, "Zhenzhen, what are you planning to do?"

Seo Zhenzhen pulled He Lanzhi onto the balcony, her smile charming, "Lanzhi, thank you for letting know. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have known that Zhou Lin actually wanted to hand over Qiqi to Cheng Zhiwei."

After saying that, she tiptoed and kissed He Lanzhi on the corner of her lips.

He Lanzhi’s displeased expression imdiately softened, and he wrapped his arms around Seo Zhenzhen, murmuring lowly, "Zhenzhen, Cheng Zhiwei has co back. Just look at Zhou Lin orbiting around her; he doesn’t love you. Perhaps it’s better to let go, co to instead. We could raise Qiqi together."

Seo Zhenzhen’s eyes reddened, and she gave a bitter smile, "Lanzhi, I know your intentions, thank you for your silent support all these years, but I..."

Her voice choked off, unable to continue.

"Zhenzhen, can’t you let go of him?"

"It’s not that I can’t let him go, but more so, I’m thinking of you. If he learns the truth, he won’t show you any rcy, Lanzhi."

He Lanzhi was deeply moved and held Seo Zhenzhen tightly, "Zhenzhen, we could take him abroad, to a place where no one knows us."

Seo Zhenzhen’s eyes flashed with impatience, but her tone remained gentle, "Don’t be like this, Lanzhi. I’m the one who’s wronged you. Don’t waste your thoughts on . If you focus on pleasing Xu Tian, your life might be a bit easier."

At the ntion of Xu Tian, He Lanzhi’s face scrunched up in revulsion, ", woo her? She can dream on."

Seo Zhenzhen tugged at his clothing, her lips pursed lightly, "But if she is happy, maybe she’ll be more forgiving. After all, she’s the one in charge in your family now."

He Lanzhi felt a profound disgust, "Don’t ntion that vile woman."

He paused, then tenderly stroked Seo Zhenzhen’s cheek, "Zhenzhen, rest assured, I’ll always support you."

"Lanzhi, you’re so kind, thank you."

...

Cheng Xing had finished her injection, and she was awake now, lazing in Cheng Zhiwei’s arms.

He Yuming really cherished Cheng Xing now, his face close to hers, "Xingxing, are you feeling better?"

Xu Tian gave him a noogie, "Call her sister."
