ng Qiancheng spoke with such gravity that Cheng Zhiwei nodded and agreed, "I trust you, Brother Qiancheng."

Interrupted by this, ng Qiancheng did not persist in entangling with Cheng Zhiwei any longer, and made up an excuse to leave.

There was a certain air of fleeing in a panic about him.

Cheng Zhiwei saw it in her eyes, her heart not as steadfast in its trust as her mouth had declared.

Perhaps it started when ng Qiancheng advised her to demand more money from the Zhou Family; from then on, she felt sowhat uncomfortable about it.

Just then, He Ye and Secretary Zhang had finished their discussion and ca over.

"Young Madam, I’ll take my leave first," said Secretary Zhang with utmost respect before departing.

He Ye couldn’t help but ask, "Are you really okay with accepting Zhou Lin’s partnership?"

He didn’t want Cheng Zhiwei to be manipulated by Zhou Lin in the future because of this investnt. Acceptance did not an he approved of Zhou Lin’s character; Zhou Lin was still a scumbag in his eyes.

Walking side-by-side with him toward the exit, Cheng Zhiwei said, "Zhou Lin doesn’t like . The reason he’s investing in the studio is one, to avoid back-talk from others, and two, he sees a promising future for the studio. Rember, he’s a businessman first and foremost."

No one wakes up early without a reason.

Cheng Zhiwei’s words amused He Ye, lightening his heart considerably, "Alright, I’ll take your advice. It seems you are my lucky star; we secured two investnts today, and the studio’s prospects are looking bright."

Cheng Zhiwei was very pleased, arranged a designated driver for him to get ho, and finally, was driven back to Sparkling Sky City by her driver.

After having so late-night snacks, Cheng Zhiwei went back to her room to wash up, then leaned back in bed with a book.

Cheng Zhiwei was determined to start afresh, so she read those professional materials with exceptional diligence.

Zhou Lin ca back and went directly into the master bedroom. Scanning the room, he realized his belongings were gone; his face turned rather gloomy. "Cheng Zhiwei, where did you put my things?"

Cheng Zhiwei was not wearing her hearing aid, and with her left side facing him, she didn’t hear his voice, so she didn’t even lift her head.

In Zhou Lin’s view, she was doing it on purpose.

Unable to tolerate this cold shoulder, he took a few steps forward, pulled the book from Cheng Zhiwei’s hands, and looked down darkly, his gaze sticking to the pale and soft complexion on her face under the light, "Cheng Zhiwei, you’ve been getting bolder by the day."

Cheng Zhiwei touched her ear; Zhou Lin’s voice was vague, but since he was close, she could hear him quite clearly.

She resisted the urge to reach for her hearing aid from the drawer.

Her cool gaze lifted to et his. Was he back from sorting out those sisters to find trouble with her?

"I’ve rely protected my own rights," Cheng Zhiwei responded matter-of-factly. "Of course, if you’re really unhappy, I can move out again and let them move in. But Zhou Lin, I won’t put up with this mistreatnt."

Zhou Lin squinted, sneered disdainfully, and stood up, tossing the book back at her, "Are you threatening ?"

Cheng Zhiwei picked up the book, leafing through to the page she had been reading, her expression relaxing, "We are currently partners, so please let’s respect each other."

Loosening his tie, Zhou Lin didn’t continue to hassle her on that topic, simply asking, "Where did you throw my stuff?"

"Next door."

"We’re husband and wife now, even if it’s fake, we can’t sleep in separate rooms, understand?" Zhou Lin glanced at her obliquely, "In this house, who knows how many eyes are watching."

Cheng Zhiwei closed the book and rubbed her temples, "I’ve had Aunt Wang handle the new arrivals’ wages and let them go. Those who’ve stayed are pretty much the old-tirs."

Zhou Lin took off his tie and casually started unbuttoning his shirt, "You trust them?"

Of course... you can’t trust them.

Even if they are loyal now, there’s no guarantee they won’t turn into spies one day.

So this ant that they had to sleep in the sa room.

Cheng Zhiwei wasn’t too pleased about this, and just as she was about to speak up, she looked up and abruptly saw the man’s body.

Zhou Lin had already taken off his shirt, revealing a solid, muscular chest, well-proportioned muscles, and not an ounce of extra fat on his perfect figure.

She imdiately looked away, her cheeks uncontrollably heating up as she huffed, "What are you doing undressing here?"

Even his fingers were on his belt, as if he were about to undo the buckle in the next second.

Her reaction seed excessively innocent, Zhou Lin’s fingers paused, and the corners of his mouth lifted imperceptibly, but his tone remained indifferent, "I’m going to take a shower, of course, and, please go next door and get my pajamas."

Saying this, he went into the bathroom shirtless without giving her a chance to refuse.

Cheng Zhiwei angrily tossed her book on the bed and went next door to get Zhou Lin’s pajamas. After a mont’s thought, she also picked up an extra blanket to spread on the other side of the bed.

Zhou Lin ca out of the shower and his cool gaze rolled over the newly moved blanket without a word, then he lifted the covers and got into bed.

The moist steam filled the air, causing Cheng Zhiwei to curl up in the blanket and roll to the side.

After the lights were turned off, Zhou Lin’s voice erged from the darkness, "Thank you."

Thanking her for not insisting on divorce at this ti, but instead standing by his side under pressure.

When he spoke with such calm emotions, his voice was truly gentle and pleasant to the ear.

Back then, it was with such a voice that Cheng Zhiwei had fallen for him, little by little.

"It’s not for you, you don’t deserve it," Cheng Zhiwei retorted while staring at the blurry ceiling, knowing only now to say thanks; the way he defended Seo Zhenzhen and Bai Zhuzhu yesterday was as if he wanted to tear her apart.

Zhou Lin couldn’t hold back his emotions and his face darkened; she was no longer pretending to be gentle, her words truly infuriating.

Neither in the mood to talk anymore, the two lay in the sa bed, each sleeping on their own.

When Cheng Zhiwei got up early the next day, there was no one beside her, and even the blanket had been tidied away.

After washing up, she went downstairs for breakfast and then prepared to head to the studio.

But just as she stepped out, her car was followed by two black vehicles.

The driver glanced in the rearview mirror and quickly said, "Young Madam, hold on tight."

The car swiftly rged into the traffic.

Cheng Zhiwei felt her heart sink, gripped the seatbelt tight, and took out her phone to call Zhou Lin, but rembering that she had been unable to reach him several tis before and that her number had been blocked by him, she instead called Secretary Zhang directly.

At least Secretary Zhang was always available to answer calls.

The mont the call connected, Cheng Zhiwei quickly reported her location and direction, "Soone’s following , and they an harm."

After thirty seconds, Zhou Lin’s voice ca through, "Cheng Zhiwei, imdiately instruct the driver to head for North-South Bridge."

Cheng Zhiwei looked at the large truck sprawled across the road ahead and sighed with a mix of calm and helplessness, "It’s too late."

The car was forced to a stop.

Several n wearing masks and hats with a nacing air walked over, yanking the driver out and quickly knocking him out with a few punches, then carelessly tossed him by the roadside.

Following that, they pulled open the rear door of the car, dragged Cheng Zhiwei out, and roughly shoved her into another vehicle.
