ng Qiancheng took a deep breath, "Weiwei, I’ll be going first, then. When you’re discharged, I’ll co to pick you up and take you ho."

"Mhm," Cheng Zhiwei nodded noncommittally.

She wished for both of them to leave.

After ng Qiancheng left, Zhou Lin sat down on the sofa, and Cheng Zhiwei lay down, neither of them speaking. It was as if Zhou Lin’s visit was solely to drive away ng Qiancheng.

Cheng Zhiwei had stayed in the hospital for about half a month, and except for still being unsteady on her feet, the rest of her injuries had mostly healed.

Being in the hospital was unbearably dull, so after changing her dication in the evening, she decided to be discharged that very night. As for the procedures, Zhang Yuanheng would take care of them.

Because it was sudden, Wang i was about to call a driver but Cheng Zhiwei stopped her, pointing to Wang i’s car, "Isn’t that perfectly fine?"

Once in the car, Wang i couldn’t help but grumble, "That day, you left on the roadside and drove away in my car. Now, every ti I see this car, I rember that incident, sigh."

Cheng Zhiwei could only laugh it off and change the subject, "Have my things been packed?"

"Almost all packed. Are you planning to move your things and leave as soon as you go back this ti?"

"I’ll stay for another couple of days and move out in a few days," Cheng Zhiwei said. She planned to move in with Cheng Zhiyin, but Cheng Zhiyin said the house was full of Gao Wei’s traces, and she needed to clean it thoroughly. She asked Cheng Zhiwei to wait a few more days before moving in.

Unable to return to the Cheng family ho, Cheng Zhiwei had no choice but to stay here for a few more days.

It was already ten o’clock by the ti they returned to Sparkling Sky City. The entire villa was brightly lit.

As Wang i helped Cheng Zhiwei out of the car, she wondered aloud, "Could it be that Young Master Zhou has co back? Why are so many lights on?"

She opened the door and went in, then paused and instinctively looked at Cheng Zhiwei.

Cheng Zhiwei’s eyes calmly swept over the two people in the living room, "Please, help bring my stuff down."

Wang i said nothing and went upstairs efficiently.

Cheng Zhiwei, holding onto the furniture for support, turned to leave.

"Cheng Zhiwei." Zhou Lin followed her out, grabbing her arm with a slight frown, "Why did you co back?"

Cheng Zhiwei’s gaze shifted and fell on Seo Zhenzhen sitting on the sofa before she looked back at Zhou Lin, "Is my return ill-tid?"

"Zhiwei, you’re back," Seo Zhenzhen initiated the conversation with a hint of embarrassnt, "Sorry, I moved in here without telling you beforehand."

Moved in?

Cheng Zhiwei understood why Seo Zhenzhen was here—she was going to live here.

Zhou Lin explained, "Zhenzhen will be having surgery at the hospital soon and needs to be well-nourished to ensure her health. I had her co stay for a few days to take care of her body."

"This is your ho; you don’t need to explain it to ," Cheng Zhiwei blocked his reply with a maintained light smile, "Miss Seo needs surgery; you should indeed take good care of her."

She then looked towards Seo Zhenzhen, "I wish you a successful surgery."

Seo Zhenzhen said "Thank you," her worried eyes landing on Zhou Lin. After a few seconds of silence, she spoke, "Actually, I don’t necessarily have to stay here, Ah Lin, I..."

"Miss Seo, don’t waste Young Master Zhou’s good intentions. Besides, it won’t be long before you beco the lady of this house, so coming over in advance to see if there’s anything you don’t like that can be changed or re-planned early is not a bad thing," Cheng Zhiwei said with particular sincerity, not betraying a hint of insincerity.

Yet, to Zhou Lin’s ears, it was laden with sarcasm.

"I know I didn’t discuss this matter with you..."

"Aunt Wang, is there a lot of stuff? Do you need my help?" Cheng Zhiwei called out upstairs, ignoring Zhou Lin.

Wang i’s voice ca from the top of the staircase, "Not much, not much, I’ve already brought them down, Young Madam, don’t move around with your foot still injured."

Following her huffing breaths, Wang i descended the stairs with two large suitcases, "Alright, Young Madam, let’s go now."

Zhou Lin’s face was grim as he stared at those two suitcases, "You’re moving out now?"

"Yes, I need to make space for your Miss Seo," Cheng Zhiwei said indifferently, her voice steady, "I wish you both a lifeti of happiness."

After saying that, she turned and left.

"Cheng Zhiwei." Zhou Lin grabbed her hand again, his throat choked up, "It’s too late now, if you’re going, go tomorrow."

He subconsciously wanted to keep her, but couldn’t find a good reason at the mont, so he used such a la excuse.

"Yes, Zhiwei, why don’t you stay here tonight? It’s already past ten, it’s not safe to go out now. Let Ah Lin send you off in the morning," Seo Zhenzhen spoke with the tone of a hostess, full of deliberation.

Cheng Zhiwei felt so nauseated that she wanted to vomit.

A sense of unwillingness surged up inside her. If she followed Seo Zhenzhen’s suggestion and stayed, Zhou Lin would definitely stay in the master bedroom today as well, and Seo Zhenzhen would vomit to death, wouldn’t she? The thought was rather satisfying.

Just as she was about to speak, she suddenly stopped.

Sharing a room with Zhou Lin, lying on the sa bed, she would be the one to vomit to death, not Seo Zhenzhen.

Her rationality quickly returned, and Cheng Zhiwei suppressed that sordid thought.

She curved her lips slightly, tinged with sarcasm, "Look at that, putting on airs already. If soone didn’t know better, they might think she’s the lady of this house and I’m just an outsider."

Seo Zhenzhen imdiately responded with awkwardness, "Zhiwei, I didn’t an that."

"She just wanted to persuade you to stay here; it’s not safe to leave this late," Zhou Lin said.

Cheng Zhiwei snorted derisively and turned to leave.

Wang i, lugging the suitcases, followed behind her. When they reached the door, Cheng Zhiwei suddenly turned back and placed a set of keys on the cabinet, "Oh right, Young Master, these are the house keys. I’ll just leave them here for you. Starting tomorrow, I won’t be coming anymore."

"You..."

"Madam had co over to take care of the Young Madam, not to take care of outsiders. Now that the Young Madam is leaving, there’s no need for to stay," Wang i spoke defiantly, and Zhou Lin couldn’t boss her around.

Zhou Lin’s face darkened imdiately; he had been thinking about having Wang i take care of Seo Zhenzhen, especially since Wang i’s skill in making soup was genuinely good.

Not until he heard the car engine start did he snap back to reality and hurry to the door, only to see the car lights slicing through the night sky, gradually receding.

Cheng Zhiwei left without a backward glance.

Zhou Lin stood on the steps until the night returned to tranquility, then he ca back to his senses, realizing Cheng Zhiwei had truly left.

A certain part of his heart suddenly felt empty, sour and uncomfortable.

In fact, about Seo Zhenzhen moving in, he planned to talk to her face to face at the hospital the next day; he didn’t expect her to co back early.

Seo Zhenzhen sat on the sofa, paralyzed, yet she could imagine how sullen Zhou Lin looked outside at that mont.

This was the first ti he had lowered himself in front of Cheng Zhiwei, trying to retain her.

Unfortunately, Cheng Zhiwei didn’t care.

Zhou Lin, you are a joke as well.
