The rain grew heavier, and the sky was bleak, with just a few lights remaining.
Cheng Zhiyin stood on the rooftop, watching the headlights slash through the curtain of rain, like ferocious monsters.
She knew Gao Wei had arrived.
Indeed, ten minutes later, Gao Wei dragged Cheng Zhiyin onto the roof and, seeing that Cheng Zhiwei was indeed alone, he began to smile with a gaping mouth.
This seemingly honest and simple person was showing his malicious side for the first ti in front of others, "Cheng Zhiwei, you really dare to co alone."
Cheng Zhiyin’s eyes widened, tears helplessly falling as she scread, "Cheng Zhiwei, have you gone mad? Who asked you to care about ?"
Even though she knew all the tornt she was experiencing was because of Cheng Zhiwei, she still wanted to protect her sister.
A bitter taste filled Cheng Zhiwei’s heart, her intention to protect Cheng Zhiyin was just the sa, and there was no way she could just watch Cheng Zhiyin be bullied by that scum, Gao Wei.
"Stop talking, sis. Just stay alive, that’s all," Cheng Zhiwei said quietly, "Take care of mom and dad."
"Cheng Zhiwei, cut the chatter and jump down already," Gao Wei beca excited, thinking about the conditions that person had promised him, his whole being brimming with anticipation.
"Don’t, Zhiwei," Cheng Zhiyin imdiately intervened.
"Shut up." Gao Wei kicked Cheng Zhiyin viciously, causing her to curl up in pain.
Cheng Zhiwei’s expression turned cold, "Gao Wei, touch her again and see what happens."
"If you don’t jump, I’ll kill her right in front of you," Gao Wei lost his patience.
"Fine, but I have a few questions for you. Since I can’t escape anyway, you might as well let die knowing the truth so I won’t haunt you as a ghost," Cheng Zhiwei said casually, her tone indifferent.
Gao Wei hesitated, for killing soone did unsettle him. But then he thought that Cheng Zhiwei’s death today was certain, so he deliberately put on a nonchalant expression.
"Fine, I’ll let you die in the know. After all, every wrong has a debtor, and for revenge, one should know whom to find," he said.
"Was it Zhou Lin who wanted you to do this? Or He Lanzhi, Seo Zhenzhen, or all three of them?" Cheng Zhiwei asked calmly, as if she had accepted the fact that she was about to die.
"I don’t know if it’s all three of them, but the photo I have was given to by Young Master He."
Photo?
Cheng Zhiwei was stunned for a mont. The photo given by He Lanzhi couldn’t be her sister’s, could it be... hers?
Her own photo?
"What photo?" she asked.
"The one of you in the hotel, getting all cozy with that President Wang."
Cheng Zhiwei’s face turned deathly pale in an instant. The photo in Gao Wei’s hands wasn’t of Cheng Zhiyin; it was her own, the one taken when Bai Zhuzhu had sent her to the hotel.
"Sis." Cheng Zhiwei’s lips trembled, her voice taking on a different tone, "Is it because of that you..."
It was because of her photos that Zhiyin was compromising with Gao Wei.
Cheng Zhiyin was curled up on the ground, struggling to get up, her body covered in cent dust, tears painfully falling, "I’m okay, Zhiwei, don’t bla yourself."
How could Cheng Zhiwei not bla herself? Thinking of Cheng Zhiyin being punched and kicked by Gao Wei, even tortured, all to protect her, filled her with rage that threatened to consu all her reason.
He Lanzhi used her photos to keep Cheng Zhiyin silent amid Gao Wei’s dostic violence and then turned around to use Cheng Zhiyin to threaten her. He Lanzhi, that scum.
"Now you know, Cheng Zhiwei, once you’re dead, go find that Young Master He," sneered Gao Wei.
His response was Cheng Zhiwei suddenly charging at him, viciously kicking him.
Gao Wei, caught off guard, received the kick and imdiately flew into a rage. He grabbed Cheng Zhiwei’s hair and slapped her hard across the face, "You’re courting death."
Fists fell like raindrops, but Cheng Zhiwei seed to feel no pain, scratching and clawing desperately.
A woman’s strength is no match for a man’s, and a crazed woman is no match for an enraged man. Cheng Zhiwei’s resistance only incited heavier fury and fiercer blows from Gao Wei.
Yet she didn’t make a sound; she used whatever little strength she had against Gao Wei.
Cheng Zhiyin was initially petrified, but she quickly snapped out of it, stood up, and pounced on Gao Wei’s back, scratching him desperately, "Don’t you dare bully my sister."
The pent-up anger from days of being bullied finally exploded.
But after being tornted for so many days, she hardly had any strength left. Gao Wei harshly pulled her arm and threw her to the ground, where she groaned.
Clenching her fist tightly, she struggled to rise, "Gao Wei, let her go, co at if you want to pick a fight."
Gao Wei kicked out fiercely, "I’ll settle my score with you later."
He had no intention of letting Cheng Zhiyin off the hook; by clinging to Young Master He’s coattails, he saw a limitless future for himself.
"Gao Wei, why did you stop? Got soft hands?" teased Cheng Zhiwei, the corners of her swollen eyes twitching as she forced a cold, mocking smile.
"Fine then, Cheng Zhiwei, you’ve got spine," said Gao Wei as he pushed her face against the ground and stepped on her back, "You refuse to die quietly and insist on playing these gas, huh?"
Gao Wei was an abuser, and resistance only kindled the brutal traits within him, making him more and more excited, reveling in the pleasure of inflicting pain.
Cheng Zhiwei curled up as much as she could, trying to protect her most vulnerable spots.
The pain blurred her consciousness. She felt her arm being grabbed, her body dragged forward by Gao Wei, who bellowed above her head, "Cheng Zhiwei, go die."
At the sa ti, Cheng Zhiwei, with her swollen eyes, spat out a mouthful of blood and laughed derisively, "You fool, after I die, you’ll be the pri suspect. Do you think He Lanzhi will do anything but sever ties with a murderer like you? Will he save you? That’s laughable. He’ll only clear his own na and let you take the bla."
Gao Wei’s face twisted, his fists creaking, but he stopped short of striking again, "Cheng Zhiwei, this is intentional."
Even if Cheng Zhiwei truly died, her injuries alone would prompt the police to investigate, and Gao Wei would be exposed.
She had thought this through and that was why she had suddenly lunged at him, determined to take Gao Wei down with her.
Unfortunately for her, Gao Wei wasn’t very smart.
Cheng Zhiwei would never let Gao Wei get away with it, to continue harming and tornting Cheng Zhiyin.
Tears blurred Cheng Zhiyin’s vision, leaving streaks on her dirty face, "Zhiwei, you shouldn’t have done this."
Cheng Zhiwei coughed, lying on her back on the ground, spitting out another mouthful of blood, which mixed with the grey cent dust on the ground, turning dark red.
"Gao Wei, keep hitting , kill ," she challenged.
Gao Wei’s clenched fist and his ferocious expression seed like he could devour soone alive. Convinced of his own cleverness, he was enraged and humiliated by a woman’s ploy. Letting go of Cheng Zhiwei, he declared viciously, "Fine, if I can’t live, then the two of you sisters will accompany to the grave."
He set his sights on Cheng Zhiyin.
Cheng Zhiwei clenched her teeth; with sudden, newfound strength, she furiously leaped at him, grabbing onto Gao Wei’s back. They both fell, tumbling toward the edge of the balcony.
