Chapter 44: Chapter 44 When she scolded , I didn’t see you defending

like this

Bai Zhuzhu bit her lip obediently, agreeing to the request. As soon as the door closed, her face imdiately darkened, and she grabbed a pillow and fiercely threw it onto the bed.

Through gritted teeth, she seethed with hatred, "Cheng Zhiwei."

The one million that was finally within her grasp had just vanished.

If it weren’t for Cheng Zhiwei’s sudden arrival and discovery of that card, she would have already secured it.

Bitch, she caused her to lose so much money and even suffered Zhou Lin’s disdain.

anwhile, Zhou Lin outside asked Secretary Zhang, "Where is she?"

Secretary Zhang replied in a low voice, "I noticed the Young Madam had a sore throat, she must have gone to see Doctor ng."

Zhou Lin walked to the elevator entrance and suddenly said, "Look into her throat issue properly."

A shiver went down Secretary Zhang’s spine; Zhou Lin was suspecting Bai Zhuzhu.

"Yes, Young President Zhou."

Cheng Zhiwei endured nagging from ng Qiancheng after repeatedly straining her throat on several occasions.

Zhou Lin arrived outside his office just in ti to hear him say, "I know Xu Tian is your best friend, and if it hadn’t been for her, you probably wouldn’t have gotten over that incident. But you have to think about yourself. Do you really want to beco mute over this?"

"Your husband obviously wants to side with Bai Zhuzhu against you, and you still refuse to divorce him. What are you thinking? If you’re worried about having nowhere to go after the divorce, you can co to ; I’ll take care of you."

Rage surged from deep within, and Zhou Lin angrily burst through the door.

ng Qiancheng sneered mockingly, "Young President Zhou, why aren’t you with Miss Bai instead of coming here?"

Zhou Lin’s expression was grim. Without a word, he grabbed Cheng Zhiwei’s wrist, pulled her up harshly, and was rude to ng Qiancheng as well.

"She’s been treated here for so long, and her throat is still the sa. It seems Doctor ng’s dical skills are lacking."

After speaking, he pulled Cheng Zhiwei along to leave.

ng Qiancheng blocked their way, his gaze coldly amused as he said, "Zhou Lin, is her throat in this condition because I failed to cure it, or is it because you have hard her repeatedly?"

Without any regard for Zhou Lin’s status, he spoke with self-righteous indignation.

"You needn’t worry about it."

ng Qiancheng’s face darkened, "If you don’t love her, then let her go. Without you, she will live a better life."

Just as Zhou Lin was about to respond, Cheng Zhiwei had already slowly and firmly pulled away from his grip, her gaze detached and cold as she looked at him.

After freeing herself, she silently moved one step to stand beside ng Qiancheng.

In front of ng Qiancheng, Cheng Zhiwei rejected him. Zhou Lin, raging with embarrassnt, saw the injuries on her elbow and his anger dissipated as quickly as smoke. Suddenly, he bent down, scooped her up, and strode out.

Cheng Zhiwei struggled, but she was tightly held by his vice-like arms, not giving an inch.

Enraged, she had no choice but to let him carry her away.

ng Qiancheng chased after them only to be stopped by Secretary Zhang, "Doctor ng, just do your job. It’s better to stay out of other people’s family matters."

ng Qiancheng narrowed his eyes, his sneer dripping with contempt, "You’re nothing but Zhou Lin’s dog, barking away here."

This was starkly different from the gentle, gentlemanly deanor he displayed in front of Cheng Zhiwei.

Secretary Zhang was taken aback, but he quickly recovered, casting a deep look at ng Qiancheng before turning to leave.

ng Qiancheng realized what he had said and, frustrated, kicked a chair again.

Zhou Lin stuffed Cheng Zhiwei into the car and made a call. Soon after, Secretary Zhang ca out, and Zhou Lin instructed the driver to head to another hospital.

Upon arrival, Zhang Yuanheng was waiting at the entrance, respectfully saying, "Young President Zhou, everything is ready."

Zhou Lin turned to look back at the car. Cheng Zhiwei was sitting inside with no intention of getting out, still angry.

Unable to speak, she could only stew in her irritation.

She was furious with herself for being weak, only to be manipulated by Zhou Lin, and was also furious with Zhou Lin’s domineering and unreasonable behavior, like a bandit.

He didn’t trust ng Qiancheng, but there was no need to tornt her like this.

Or could it be that he suspected her alleged throat illness was also feigned, which is why he brought her to see Zhang Yuanheng?

Cheng Zhiwei’s eyes turned red with anger.

Zhang Yuanheng looked around and carefully asked, "Young President Zhou, the Young Madam seems to be in a bad mood, shall we postpone it?"

Zhou Lin’s brow furrowed as he leaned on the car door, bending over for the first ti with patience to look at Cheng Zhiwei, "Get a proper check-up, co out."

Cheng Zhiwei still didn’t move.

Zhou Lin lost his patience and directly carried her out, and held her all the way into Zhang Yuanheng’s office, taunting her along the way, "Do you really want

to carry you?"

Cheng Zhiwei could do nothing but give him a glare.

Zhang Yuanheng softly persuaded Cheng Zhiwei, "Young Madam, since we’re here, it’s just one more check-up. Please relax, it won’t take much ti."

Towards everyone except Zhou Lin, Cheng Zhiwei’s attitude was always good.

Having co all this way, she had no choice but to go through with the check-up.

Zhou Lin sneered to show his contempt and sat down on the sofa to wait for Cheng Zhiwei.

After Cheng Zhiwei finished the check-up, the two of them returned to Sparkling Sky City together.

Cheng Zhiwei typed to ask Zhou Lin when exactly he would release Xu Tian, convinced that he had already seen the paper.

Bai Zhuzhu was clearly trying to fra Xu Tian, and Zhou Lin had no reason not to release her.

Zhou Lin’s face was shadowy and murky, with a slight coldness, "When she was cursing , I didn’t see you defending

like this."

Cheng Zhiwei was stunned; why would she defend him? If he hadn’t been so excessive, Xu Tian wouldn’t have cursed him.

He was completely asking for it.

"Bai Zhuzhu took the money, doesn’t that prove she frad Xu Tian?"

Cheng Zhiwei was anxious, typing quickly; she didn’t understand what Zhou Lin was stubbornly clinging to.

The facts were laid out on the table.

What did he still want to do?

"Cheng Zhiwei, she gave

the card, it was Madam Xu who forced it on her, your so-called evidence is useless," Zhou Lin said indifferently, lying, it was his subconscious choice to protect Bai Zhuzhu.

Cheng Zhiwei didn’t expect such an outco; she was extrely disappointed, leaning against the car door, no longer willing to look at Zhou Lin.

After dinner, Cheng Zhiwei returned to her room and told He Ye the news, but he told her that he had found the staff mber who passed her the water, and he was on his way there now, asking Cheng Zhiwei if she wanted to go over.

Cheng Zhiwei imdiately agreed.

She changed her clothes and went downstairs, only to see Zhou Lin’s car leaving a step ahead.

She quickly thought of He Ye’s words, and intuition told her that Zhou Lin was also going for this matter.

The narrow residential building was a standard feature of every city; Cheng Zhiwei and He Ye asked around and spent half an hour before they finally found the person’s location.

However, their timing was terrible.

Just as they arrived downstairs, there was a "thud," sothing fell from a high place right in front of them.

It was a person, and the one Cheng Zhiwei and He Ye had co to find.

Just a few seconds later, Zhou Lin and Secretary Zhang appeared.

Eyes t, and Cheng Zhiwei’s mind buzzed, her eyes reddening as she glared at Zhou Lin, her mouth opening and closing without a sound, but everyone present could read imnse anger from her expression.
